chest pain under breastbone

ve been to pain management specialists and have had nerve conduction studies. Doctors, so far, do not seem to know what could be causing my pain. Its a sharp chest pain that sometimes lasts for days and sometimes generates downward, If I press on the site it hurts. It feels like its not my actual heart, but above layers, possibly under muscle..? This has been going on since September 2007.

Why am i getting pain under my right rib cage that feels as if i have a huge bruise i can barely handle that makes it hard to breathe?

For the last few days I've developed intermittant chest pain (left side) right where my heart it. It isn't severe, just kinda achy. It comes and goes, but I'm kinda concerned about it. I'm having it right now accompanied with air hunger. Very uncomfortable. Does anyone else get this? What causes it? I'm going in this morning to see dr and will be interested to see what she says. How can they deny that I am clearly having problems?

the injection given in the pain area was tricort +sensorcaine then i was completely relieved from pain for 2days then the pain came back again and when i touch the pain area i can feel the pain.

Since early last year i had a chest pain, feeling a sharp pain under my left breast and it become worse when im breathing or taking. Last week i had the same pain these time it was on top of my left breast and its difficult to breath, talking and even to move my body especially the left side.

I also notice that I have a painful tugging feeling when I try to look down in the same area of my upper back. Last night in my sleep I woke up with a chest pain right in my breastbone area. I have had left side rib pain including( breast, chest , breastbone underneath breastbone,) all on left side I had 2 doctors tell me it was an old fracture on the 7th, 8th and 9th ribs but they said it couldn't be because they are Lon segment bones that they should stil ...

I suddenly got up from a sitting position and experienced a sudden burning under my breastbone followed by dizziness, right arm pain and dizziness. It went away withing 3 to 4 minutes. I just had blood work done and a heart scan that was ok. I ate a salad with lots of veggies for dinner. Could this be heartburn or should I suspect a heart attack?

Ok I'm dumb,i should have asked dr oro this, but I forgot. I have had several bouts of chest pain over the last year and my heart has been checked out and I've had several ct scans they could never find the cause. I do have a higher risk for blood clots but never have had one. I'm experiencing chest pain ib a band like sensation. Its like pressure. When ever I hold my breath and let all the wind out of my lungs and squeeze my chest it will give me pain on and around my sternum. If I turn my head sharply I will feel pain on the right side. But what hurts me the most is when I push down on my sternum or pull an object into my sternum. Nothing shows up in xrays and the doctors just keep sending me away without telling me anything. Does anyone know what this could be? It also does hurt in my back on the right side when everything hurts.

As Selma has pointed out there are related conditions that can cause Chest pain, because CM can involves the spinal cord it is plausible that your Chest pain is nerve related. A call to your GP, NL or NS would be wise :) Keep us posted.

can angina (stable or unstable) cause pain in ribs as well ? ribs and/or breastbone ?

Pleuritis and Pulmonary embolism are other possibilities causing shortness of breath with chest pain. Another possibility that can explain the pain is pericarditis. However all these conditions cause other symptoms too like fever, cough, breathlessness etc. Hope this helps. Do discuss this with your doctor and get yourself examined. last night i felt alot of pain in my left side of my chest and the pain increases with mov't and breathing so i thought this is anew problem coz the side is above the heart or may be the heart its self so that i need ur advice.....

There could be alot a different things going on there. The pain traveling from under the breastbone to the back is a serious indication of a problem that needs immediate medical attention. Good Luck. I hope it is not that serious.

Recently, the stomach compulsions have been getting worse,and so have the chest pains which I think is Acid-Reflux. I start experiencing severe pain in the upper portion of my abdomen, just under my breastbone, and It feels somewhat like a cramp and is very uncomfortable and I vomit blood. If I drink heavily the night before, my body feels like I worked out severely and ran a marathon. The body aches worsen and are very painful and sore.

It causes chest pain aggravated by laughing yawning and deep breathing and also causes radiation of pain to arms. Again an EKG, heat echo and chest X-ray is required. If all these are ruled out, then it can be due to acidity. Take Omeprazole empty stomach in morning and an antacid gel at bedtime.

hi, i was resting in bed earlier, and i turned very quickly that i had a sharp burning pain in my back, i massaged it quickly and it moved towards my breastbone. i now have pain in the middle of my chest to the other side of my breast. it is sort of a tight feeling but painful when i press on it. have i just pulled a muscle or is it cause for concern?
