Common Questions and Answers about Chest pain thyroid

Avatar m tn Hi there, I agree with Barb. You should call him and schedule a time to have blood work done again as soon as possible. Don't ignore chest pain! If you have thyroid nodules, ask him about those and how those can possibly effect hyper/hypo symptoms The nodules should not go unnoticed. Sometimes they can be nothing, and sometimes they can cause your hyper symptoms. Did he say why the thyroid uptake scan didn't work? Could you do another one? I hope you feel better soon.
Avatar f tn Meanwhile I developed tremors, heat intolerance, chest pain, and irritability. So I quit med on November 23 and repeated labs on nov 25. Labs were still high..TSH .02. T4 2.5. So doc said I did the right thing quitting the med and plans to recheck in January when all of med is out of my system. I'm still having light tremors and horrible chest pain. Could this still be from the little med I was taking or from the overactive thyroid? I just want the pain to stop. Feeling a little scared.
Avatar m tn Describe the chest pain, is it like pressure? Kinda like somethings sitting on ur chest and causing discomfort/pain. Does it hurt to take a deep breath? I had all the symptoms u described minus the sinus infection but my chest pain I had on and off since child hood. I was always told it was stress, anxiety and even gas(which can cause chest pain).
1448748 tn?1312956208 Ok I'm dumb,i should have asked dr oro this, but I forgot. I have had several bouts of chest pain over the last year and my heart has been checked out and I've had several ct scans they could never find the cause. I do have a higher risk for blood clots but never have had one. I'm experiencing chest pain ib a band like sensation. Its like pressure. The worst part is in between my shoulder blades among the right side of my spine only. It hurts to breathe deep.
Avatar n tn Hi --- really really off the wall ? ... having mega experience with thyroid ... it has come to mind to ask .. have you had thyroid panel done via blood draw .. esp. for TSH values?
1464004 tn?1384135733 Sorry took so long to respond been feeling like utter crap lately, the bank spasms and chest pain are bordering on ridiculous. Can I still have low cellular thyroid issues after a total thyroidectomy? I'm still waiting for a referral from my PCP to go see the Rheumy do have no answers to anything as of yet.
Avatar f tn I don't smoke. I eat decently. I exercise. I don't have history of cancer in my family. But, I have a chest pain. It's severe, sometimes. It hurts right between my breast, especially when I breathe deeply (or it worsens when I do.) and when I press it, or put pressure there. Sometimes the pain actually moves to be more on my breast, or it will be right below, on my ribcage. Any ideas of what could be going on?
Avatar f tn The symptom isn't due to any heart issue as inspiration should cause chest pain or any chest discomfort. However, that doesn't rule out your having a heart issue concomitant with another medical concern. Is your heart rate normal at rest? Do you know your blood pressure? I'm not sure how a thyroid gland removed effects the body system, and whether or not that can be the underlying cause, but the matter should be discussed with your health care provider.
Avatar f tn Also my pain seemed to center in the middle of my chest, down the whole length of my sternum after fluctuating back and forth between the right and left sides of my chest. It hurt more toward the left side of my sternum. Then it would be all over my chest, shoulder blade, neck, and arm again. One time I tried massage in order to relieve the symptoms in my shoulder blade and upper back. It didn’t help.
Avatar n tn I woke up a few weeks ago at midnight with bad back pain and chest pain shortness of breath nausea ekg normal cardiac enzymes normal.
Avatar f tn I have been having tightness in my chest, sweating, hot flashes, shaking (both on the inside and outside), pain in my neck, pain in my back between my shoulder blades, episodes of belching (even with nothing to drink for over 6 hours)... I was going to go to the ER this morning when I woke up freezing and shaking. I don't have a temp or anything. Could this be thyroid related? I had my TSH and free T3 and T4 done yesterday. Didn't get results yet?
Avatar n tn I am a 26-yr-old female and for the past couple weeks I have been experiencing some pain in the left side of my chest. At times, it will come on suddenly, as though there is a giant bubble that won't pop and is so painful its hard to breath. It usually last a min or two. Most of the time, there is just a dull pain that continues in that area and sometimes spreads to the shoulder and upper arm. I am concerned because it is becoming more frequent but I am not sure what it is.
Avatar f tn The burning has been constant for a week now and pains usually at night. I have suffered chest pain with thyroid problems before, but this burning is causing me stress. Could it be related to increased dose, Which shows tsh dropping, but t4 rising?
Avatar m tn Costochondritis is an inflammation of the junctions where the upper ribs join with the cartilage that holds them to the breastbone or sternum. Anemia and thyroid diseases(hyperthyroidism)can also cause chest pain. There is no specific test or investigation for costochondritis. The diagnosis can only be reached after excluding more serious causes of chest pain that are related to the heart and lungs.
Avatar f tn Yes, some people suffer chest pain with Levo. Some have switched to Synthroid and gotten better results. I had chest pain before taking any thyroid meds. Now I'm on Synthroid, and the pain has eased significantly. Some have gone the natural route and taken drugs like Armour and Nature Thyroid. I have thought about taking natural drugs, but because of the shortage, I am sticking to my Synthroid.
Avatar f tn s in a row and today I am experiencing chest pain at the top of my left breast slightly to the left of my sternum. It feels almost like a pulled muscle, like a slight burning along with the pain which comes and goes but is not tender to the touch. This has happened once or twice before (over 2 years ago) but I never looked into it. Can the event of having PAC's in a row cause chest pain? I plan on switching back to Synthroid instead of the generic next refill.
591312 tn?1218868480 Yesterday I did not feel any chest pain, but I have had this pain earlier this month as well, one time I could not even sleep lying down because my chest hurt each time my heart palpitated. On my previous post I mentioned that the pain was literally as if a needle was progressively going through the heart as I inhaled, and pain relieved progressively as I exhaled. I do not have any injuries in my chest.
454221 tn?1259445739 It feels like something swells up in my throat and get pain below the collar bone/mid chest. I did see Pulmonary doc on April 16th, they did chest x-ray, blood work for thyroid, liver, chalmydia pnuemonia(I think it is how you spell it) and EKG(doc said was abnormal. Pulmonary doc also wanted me to use holter to monitor heart for a day. Doing that today. I'm also taking INH and Vitamin B6 for inactive TB. I have one more month to go.
Avatar f tn they sent me to a lung specalist who basically said it was nothing so i went back to my doctor he put me on meds for the diabetic and thyroid but the pain in chest/back has not stopped or the voice horseness either. Do i need a higher dosage of medicine? Or is there something else wrong? I never knew thyroid could cause chest/back pain?
Avatar n tn I would definitely take her to the doctor ASAP. That is not normal for a 17 year old. If it's nothing to worry about, you'll know. You can't play around with chest pain, and hope it's nothing or that it will go away. Get her checked out.
Avatar m tn have also had chest pains for just about a year now and they can't find anything. They got so bad on Monday night 5/12/08 I went to the ER and they kept me over night and did some more testing; found nothing. They did find some spine problems about 2 years ago and I don't know if that has anything to do with these problems. I've also had all kinds of blood work done, 2 chest xrays 2 stress test and thet can't find anything wrong. My wife and the doctors think I'm nuts!
Avatar f tn I walked quite a bit today and now I have again developed leg pain. Whenever the leg pulses with pain, I am getting pain in the chest...not always, but many a times. Today, the chest pain seems to be in the middle of the chest. What could this be? Any ideas?
975514 tn?1324997938 Is it possible to have a goiter you cannot detect? I am having the unfortunate situation of having to self diagnose. I have been to dozens of doctors, have Grave's and Hashi's in my family- and have lots of health problems. Last year I had a shoulder surgery that has left me in more pain. I am wondering now if I may have a thyroid problem, undetected. I have posted a few times within the past couple of days. I finally have an endo appt. scheduled.
