Common Questions and Answers about Chest pain kidney stone

pain

Avatar f tn How are you? Kidney stone pain is often associated with low back pain and abdominal pain. Kidney stones, especially those in the left kidney, can also cause significant amounts of nausea and even vomiting. As the stone moves further down the ureter toward the bladder, the pain often radiates in the groin and genital areas. In men, the pain may radiate to the scrotum. In women, the pain may radiate to the labia or even the vagina.
Avatar f tn Had a chest CT scan for shortness of breath which incidentally showed a 4mm left renal stone. I have no symptoms and my physician's nurse simply advised me to follow up the chest CT scan in 1 year and never mentioned anything about the renal stone. Does this sound correct - I shouldn't be worried about it unless I have pain?
Avatar m tn are probably and most likely from something other than a kidney stone as you suspected since the pain from a kidney stone, as you've already experienced , is from a different area of the body and the word "intense" doesn't even describe that pain! My pain from a kidney stone(s) has ALWAYS been the same type, in the same area of the body, be it either on the right side or left side, depending on which kidney has the stone(s) in it.
Avatar f tn My name is NikkiMay, and my fiance has been having some serious issues getting help with his constant pain issues. What started out being diagnosed as a 7mm Kidney Stone, turned into a chronic pain issue. He has chronic, moderate to severe pain in his left side, covering his back, side, groin, and sometimes penetrates down to the inner thigh, or reproductive organs.
Avatar m tn Right back pain could be caused by musculoskeletal issues as well as infection. If there is history of kidney stone and you are a stone former, kidney stone is also possible. Urine test may help determine the underlying cause. If it persists, it is best that you talk to your attending physician about this for proper management. Take care and hope all is well. Do keep us posted and best regards.
Avatar n tn By the way, I passed 6mm stone early this month ( before I passed the stone I got fever, chill and pain on my back ) and I though I won't have any pain no more but yesterday I start to have pain again when I passed the urine. Is it will always be like this?
Avatar f tn When you have a 5mm stone, it is my understanding as a non physician and just a plain old kidney stone sufferer for 30 plus years, that your kidney with the stone functions normally, unless the stone is blocking the flow of urine from that kidney, in which case that kidney swells up and the pain would be in the kidney with the stone.
Avatar f tn I have chest pain more then two week. If I move my left harm and neck, that time my chest pain. some time i will feel nothing.some time deep breath also.
Avatar m tn They given me painkillers and pain subsided and got the discharge. At home pain started again but this time on right kidney side and I had another visit to hospital. The ultrasound report detected a 3mm stone and I was admitted in hospital. After CT scan, Intravenous pyelogram and X-rays, it was found that a stone was 4.5 mm which stuck in ureter on right side. I was operated by uteroscopy with laser lithotripsy. The doctor had put the stent and discharged me to home with medications.

5739386 tn?1378836460 Went to the doctors about 45 min ago. Was having back pain and feeling sick dizzy and threw up. Well I'm at the hospital again second time in a week. And my doctor want to do a ultrasound on my kidneys to make sure I don't have a kidney stone. Any one have a kidney stone while pregnant. What happens?
Avatar f tn It's really hard to know unless you have an MD respond or someone with similar symptoms. You should take your temp and do you know how to count your heart rate or pulse. A rapid heart rate and fever may indicate that you have an infection somewhere in your body. You should also consider whether or not your bowel habits have been regular as well as making urine. Is your urine cloudy or pink? This could indicate a kidney infection or stone.
Avatar m tn hey i have a pain on my right side too. but my doc can't find out what it is.
Avatar m tn 7 CM stone in my right kidney. As per my doctors reports unfortunately the stone is in such a position (right inside the canal of the kidney) where they would have to puncture the kidney to reach it and remove the stone. Also i have been told the passage of my ureter has formed some sort of blockage which needs to be treated on?! Extremely confused and scared any help would be great. God bless in advance.
Avatar m tn Since the pain occurs on an off, could i be developing or having a stone someweher in the kidney or ureter??? Do i have to have RBC in urine to rule out that there is a stone... Please advise as this is a mental trauma until ruled out..
Avatar m tn The pain increased past the point of unbearable and my wife drove me to the ER, where they gave me a CAT scan. When I got up from the table the pain was gone, and they told me I had passed one stone and a second was still in my left Kidney. Fast forward to present day. I have been having pain in the same area off and on, nothing serious but enough to make me notice. Early this past Monday morning I woke up with the same nausea and pain as before, from a year ago when I had to go to the ER.
Avatar f tn Typically the pain from a kidney stone is when the stone is higher up in ur ureter before it enters ur bladder. It blocks the flow of urine and this is very painful. Actually peeing out the stone can be relatively pain free.
Avatar m tn Hello, Method of treatment of kidney stones depends on the size of stone. A 4 mm stone has an 80% chance of passage spontaneously in the urinary tract while a 5 mm stone has a 20% chance. a stone of 7.7 mm needs other methods of kidney stone treatment. I’ll suggest consulting a urologist for the same and seeking treatment depending on the size of the stone.
Avatar f tn I have been to the emergency room 4 or 5 times in the past 18 years for the large stones, small ones pass ok. My first stone caused bleeding and severe back pain also with pain in the lower abdomen area along with hot/cold flashes and vomiting. It may feel like someone is squeezing your kidney while at the same time stabbing it with an ice pick. I first though it was my appendix. I was wrong. Water, water, water. I have to drink plenty of water every day.
Avatar m tn Is it necessay to forcebly remove it ? What can be done for the 3 mm stone laying in the kidney ? Please give me your expert advice. Thankyou.
Avatar n tn I've had kidney stones twice. First time I had severe pain in one of my kidneys. Second time I didn't know I had kidney stones until I was urinating blood. Then the pain set in. Not fun either time.
Avatar m tn If there is a position that you can get into to eliminate the pain of a kidney stone and you find one that works, please post it on here so we'll all know. I'm not trying to be smart mouthed with you but after 40 plus stones, over 30 years, I haven't found that position yet and I doubt you will either. .
Avatar f tn I get blood in my urine when the stone is passing from kidney to ureters this is also when pain is at its worse a stone could also cause a uti and or kidney infection.

997798 tn?1250089433 Hi. I have had stones for over 30 years and only over the past 5 years had the symptoms you describe. Is the stone exiting the right kidney? <<<<"along with the pain I now have on my right side" = FLANK PAIN. Please google it and see if it matches up to the pain on the side. Is this your first stone? You need to do 24 hour urines and have the stone analyized, VERY important. DRINK DRINK DRINK ALL THE WATER YOU POSSIBLY CAN FORCE IT.
Avatar f tn Hello kidneychick, Are you saying that because of your two experiences with kidney stones in the past that you are sure your lower right back pain now is a kidney stone or has a physician taken an X Ray or Cat Scan and seen a kidney stone? I'm just curious on how you can determine it's definitely a kidney stone causing your pain.
