Avatar n tn However, they are not to be taken lightly and MUST be discussed with your Dr. Shortness of breath and chest pains can be symptoms of Heart Problems. I have had a Heart Attack and know what to expect, and I was not overly concerned. But I did immediately discuss this with my Dr.
329994 tn?1301663248 When you said chest pain, I had to pipe up and add a comment. Yes, that is definitely part of Fibromyalgia /CFS/EBV. I have all three and just yesterday I called my doctor feeling scared that I was having a heart attack. I woke up with pain in my head on the left side, my face was sagging, down my aortic area to my chest and down my left arm to my wrist. This kept up with palpitations and a flushing that was awful! I thought a stroke was iminent.
Avatar m tn Still after months, I do feel chest pain on left side and shortness of breath nearly twice a week. When i feel a chest pain it dooms me and I think that I might have a heart attack . I seriously need some help what might be causing my chest pain and shortness of breath. Is it possible that it might be getting accumulated to something serious. I really get scared when ever I feel pain in left chest.i think that I will have a heart attack. Does anyone has similar experience?
Avatar f tn I've wrote on here before, but I have other questions. I've had shortness of breath for about 3 months now. I have recently had a pulmonary function test where I blew into a spirometer (sp?). My general doctor told me the results came back abnormal and is sending me to a pulmonary doctor. I had a chest x-ray done that showed a calcified mass (non-cancerous).
Avatar n tn PLEASE HELP. I'm 15 years old and I've been healthy all my life. Up until about 3-4 months ago, I started getting bad shortness of breath. Like I'm constantly short of breath. I get chest pressure too. I dont think its a heart problem because I feel like its in my lungs. As if my lungs cant expand right and that it's mainly in my right lung. Sometimes I get these sharp pain on either side of my chest but I feel like they're in my lungs.
Avatar m tn Is there any treatment, medicine or techniques that can help me calm down and help lessen the pain of my chest and shortness of breath? I have been to my doctor and she said it wasnt anything heart related but probably something muscle related under my "breastbone." She said there is really no medicines to help me feel better. Everytime i start getting shortness of breath i feel like im going to have a heart attack. Please give me input on how to control and manage the situtation.
Avatar m tn I dont get much excercise and eat alot of unhealthy food. Am I overweight? and whats likely cause of my chest pain? do i have heartburn or heart problems? Note: This is a mild pain, the shortness of breath bothers me 3 times more than chest pain.
Avatar n tn the answer to all your questions are no, I walk the equivalent of 1/2 acre before I am short of breath
Avatar m tn I have a herniated SPINAL CORD AT T-4. The last several days I have been very short of breath with chest pains, including around my ribs cage in my back,etc.. The last two days I had a VQ Scan and chest xray. VQ was inderterminate. Went to Pulmonary Dr. and he sent me right to the ER. CAT with contrast ruled out PE and EKG and blood work was normal. But yet I continued to have this shortness of breath, and chest pains. The "covering DR." said all tests were normal and sent me home.
Avatar n tn 15 years of shortness of breath... chest pain and trying to "catch the yawn". I am not alone. .. cheesy pain so bad Monday they admitted me over night ekg, stress tests. .. all negative. Never once did I hear about costro... Self diagnosed at this point but it's nice to know I am not alone.
Avatar f tn ) A lot of the symptoms that go along with vdd mimic other conditions, including the shortness of breath/chest pain and pressure, arthritis....you will also find that a great many, if not most, ppl with vdd have been diagnosed with fibromyalgia. I think that vdd actually IS undiagnosed vdd, myself. I second 9na and phyllis regarding sticking with this! It not only takes allot of time, but also can feel just as bad maybe worse before it feels better.
Avatar m tn The reason I saw this cardiologist was the recurring chest pain that I was having (not because of shortness of breath as he indicates here!). The pain is still there together with light headedness and goes away if I take nitroglycerin (thought I know that nitroglycerin would relieve essentially any kind of chest pain). The cardiologist saw me after the angiogram and told me that there is absolutely nothing wrong with my heart and I should start working out.
Avatar n tn When I am riding my bike I have no problems for miles but now and then if I race uphill it happens the shortness of breath and the pain in the chest. Its not a exhaustion pain it seems like its a jolt to the heart then shortness of breath, I had a stress test 5 years or more ago I flew by it with colors. I even had the doc turn it up so i can catch myself getting a short breath and pain never happened. The pain is first sharp then I get short of breath scary .
Avatar f tn I’m 15, male and have been experiencing shortness of breath for some time now. Recently, I’ve also been experiencing chest tightness and muscle ache in my upper body(might be due to vigorous exercise during my Physical Education class). The shortness of breath is most apparent when I’m lying down flat or leaning while sitting. Should I be concerned? It’s 12.13 AM right now so I’m looking for a sign before I alert them.
Avatar f tn My husband (39 yrs) has been experiencing chest pain and shortness of breath for about 4 months. First started out as shortness of breath then chest pain. He has been also having pain in the throat area and feeling very fatigue and weak. Shortness of breath comes on with physical activity sometimes with light activity or even if talk too much. Chest pain is in mid section of chest and to the left.
Avatar f tn I would make a doctor's appt. and go to the ER next time you have chest pain. Chest pain and shortness of breath is not something you want to ignore. It's important to find out whether there's an underlying issue. It could be nothing at all but anxiety or panic attacks, but you will want to find out from a doctor.
Avatar f tn Since you are associating your pain with other symptoms, such as shortness of breath and changes in your heart rhythm and given the limited list of what they tested, I'd say there is a need to be more thorough, particularly if they did not pinpoint with their fingers a musculoskeletal spot that was tender and also considering it is not constantly hurting you. Please see a cardiologist as soon as possible about this for a thorough evaluation of your heart.
Avatar f tn lately I have been getting shortness of breath. Espically after working out. I am not sure if I am making the issue worse because with my anxiey I start to dwell on it. I am really aware of it and now think it may be heart realted. This really ***** to have to deal with. I call the dr and have a appt today. I also thought that maybe it is asthma, which I had as a young child, I am now 39. Or maybe allergies or sinus. Any thoughts????????
Avatar f tn Yes, muscle pains and cramps along with shortness of breath can be due to fentanyl. However chest pain with shortness of breath should be investigated ASAP for heart attack/angina and pulmonary embolism (clots in lung), especially since you have history of diabetes and stroke. Please consult your doctor regarding this immediately. Hope this helps. Take care! The medical advice given should not be considered a substitute for medical care provided by a doctor who can examine you.
Avatar m tn On January 18th, I experienced a tight chest during a family dinner that caused me to leave early. I took 1.5MG of Ativan after about 1.5 hours of this tight chest and shortness of breath. This seemed to be classic symptoms of a panic attach, which I have never experienced in my life. There was no obvious triggers as the family dinner was pleasant. The 19th I experienced no breathing problems at all. The 20th I had shortness of breath that came and went.
Avatar f tn The first few days i was in the pain was that bad i had to have morphine. The pain and shortness of breath is mainly on exertion and the dr suggested angina and am on many tablets. I am slowly getting worse and can only walk 200 yds without stopping. But as its not a definitive diagnosis im stumped. Ive only had ecgs done and blood tests. few ocasions the troponin level was raised and ecg have been abnormal. No one seems to have any answers.
Avatar f tn I now have this fluttering/vibration felling in my lungs and I am having a lot of chest pain and pressure. I went back to my family doctor and she perscribed me a Z-Pack and an inhaler. That was the best I had felt in 2 months! But the Z-Pack only lasted for 5 days, so it wasn't long until I was back to feeling bad. My sister was feeling my back one day after I had been complaining of pain and she said something felt out of place, so i went to the chiropractor.
Avatar m tn My wife is suffering from exactly same condition and no inhaler and no asthma medicine is working for her shortness of breath. Can you please confirm if your diagnosis was "Vocal Cord Disfunction" or something else. Thanks for your help in advance.
Avatar f tn I am still having chest pain (feels like someone is sitting on my chest) some shortness of breath. I had a EKG done 9-19-08 at the Dr's office and I had a nuclear stress test done 9-26-08 and all is fine according to the reports. This is now the third week of the pain. I am waiting on the Dr's office to return my call, or do I need to go to the Emergency room?
Avatar n tn The sublingual nitroglycerin seems to work to relieve the pain/pressure when it occurs but I am still conerned over the shortness of breath and fatigue along with a low temperature..95 and widely varying resting heart rate... 46 to 78 and widely variable resting blood pressure 148/98 to 102/70 thirty minutes later. What further testing, if any, would you suggest?
