This can cause chest tightness and chest congestion to the point of coughing up phlegm. A nasal wash helps remove mucus and bacteria from the nose and sinuses. This can temporarily reduce the postnasal drip and make it easier to breath. A prescription nasal steroid spray decreases nasal swelling and mucus production. This may prevent the postnasal drip and chest problems. To get the most out of a nasal steroid spray use it after doing a nasal wash.
I have been on it six months and have not had a problem. However, I have now developed a chest congestion. It is worse towards the end of the day...not to bad in the mornings. My chest feels full and tight in the evening hours. Its like a respiratory problem. I think the flecainide is causing it. I used to have the same symptoms after being in AF for a day or two. Does any one know the answer to this? Also, I am considering having an ablation but cant make up my mind.
It started with flu like symptons, tired, runny nose, headache,..then chest congested, then to doctor. I went through 5 days antibiotic. On fourth day got energy back. Still congested. Now, I find myself a week later around 6pm every day getting tired and getting cold forehead and light sweat (cold). AND pins and needles, buring like sensation on back and legs. If I run hands fingers down leg, its like pins and needles...not painful, just weird feeling?? I still have congestion in chest too.
IN THE LAST 3-4 MONTHS I DEVELOPED CHEST CONGESTION THAT IS NONE PRODUCTIVE WITH THIS UPPER BACK PAIN. IT GETS BETTER THROUGHOUT THE DAY, BUT I CAN FEEL THE CONGESTION WHEN I BREATHE DEEP WHEN SITTING UP. THE BACK PAIN WAKES ME ALMOST EVERY NIGHT. I HAVE TO TAKE TYLENOL PM TO GET ANY SLEEP AT ALL. The pain has intensified over time. Now associated with it is a constant congestion in my chest. I had a test for arthritis about 3 years ago and they found none. I ache constantly and seem to be tired all the time. My thyroid levels were recently checked and were ok.
I still have a low grade fever ranging from 99-100.2 degrees pretty consistently. My chest congestion is worse and lungs feel tight. Is this normal for H1N1?
The research I have done shows that these and other fungi can cause respiratory issues like chest pain, congestion, cough, lung scarring, and even masses in the lungs. Your additional symptoms of night sweats is also very common with these infections. I don't know if this helps or not, but I hope you will keep us updated.
This past week, I have been experiencing chest congestion and coughing up greenish phlegm but have no cold symptoms. Am asthmatic but has been under control for many years. Even though still taking Singulair and Advair daily, have been having shortness of breath and am very tired. Am also using Proventil which I rarely use and it's barely making a difference. Even something as simple as turning from side to side in bed is leaving me breathless.
What can I take to get rid of this? I'm really tired and can't get any rest because I have 2 other children at home with me! I feel like I have no energy at all!
For some time now I have had problems sleeping and wake up at 5am having difficulty swallowing. It feels like I have the end congestion of a cold Sometimes I cough up discoloured mucus as well. Have seen my dr several times but he has perscribed omniparazole obviously thinking it is a digestive problem. Blood tests have come back ok. This disrupts my sleep every night. As soon as I awake and start the day although tired I'm fine. Any advice would be a great help.
I also feel weird pains in my back and then I just feel yucky in the chest and my heart seems to be 'lagging' or something odd. I just don't feel 'right'!!! I'm tired of feeling this way. I'm only 39 and now matter what tests I get done, everything comes back OK. That's good but then why do I feel this way? I'm wondering if it's because I have a constantly active mind and it could be constant anxiety. I must just have that type of personality or something. I hope it's nothing serious!
My question is the the last 3 months as I am laying down for a while I get a gurggle feeling in my chest and it almost feels like congestion so I make a cough to see if that would help and I have no congestion at all and the cough doesnt help. When I stand for a minute is when it will go away. Can you please tell me what this means or if I should go get a 2nd opinion??? Heart related issues runs on my mother side of the family and just about everyone has an issue.
I got phenylephrine nasal drops, which cleared up my congestion, and took congestion/cold medicine (tylenol, guaifenesin, phenylephrine), and got a bit of sleep. Saturday - I woke up breathing out of my mouth with a slightly sore throat and had trouble sleeping the rest of the day - I got back to sleep after another drop of the new nasal spray but I know I'm not supposed to overuse it. The congestion is even worse - the neti pot this time did almost nothing.

I had a cold/flu approx. 6 weeks ago and was able to function after about 2 days. However, I have had a persistent cough that never seem to go away. The pain went to my chest area, upper shoulder/clavicle area and now has made its way to my back? I've had some dizziness and not sure what's going on? I also had an echocardiogram/ekg/stress tests for my heart and I'm healthy. I am a 34 year old woman in excellent condition. I am really worried b/c these are nagging symptoms that don't seem to go away and I am so tired of complaining about them. Help? Any ideas?
would it be a good idea to have a cat scan or mri of my brain to rule out brain tumor? I am getting really tired of this as it has put my life on hold right now. I cant even drive on bad days because of motion sickness brought on by all this.

5mths first diagnosis was asthmatic bronchitis but now my doctor is saying that it may be allergies related. I have had chest tightness, coughing, trouble breathing, fatigue, dizziness and excess mucus. Over the weekend I had very bad chest tightness and could barely breathe. Trip to urgent care had me on my 3rd round of antibiotics and a 6 day tapered medrol pack.
About 5 minutes after the tachycardia ended, I have began experiencing palpitations that have intensified over since the attack. Two days after that tachycardic episode, chest pain developed along with the palpitations. This feeling of pressure in the center of my chest is always accompanied by the palpitations and will sometimes last only 3-4min and other times for several hours (especially in the evenings).
Hi all. I had an ablation 4 weeks ago and since that time I have been experiencing chest tightness, pressure, and sharp pains in the heart. I am seeing my doctor on a weekly basis to determine the cause and undergo treatment. Following a work up of tests (echo, nuclear stress, ekg, etc.) the doctor has determined that everything in the heart is normal and that this "discomfort may be something that I just have to ride out.
I have not been sick in years, but last week I got sick. I had chest congestion, coughing, very tired. No fever, no sore throat. I rested for two days. I feel much better, but I can't seem to get rid of the rest of the **** that is rattling around in my upper chest. I have taken Mucinex, Vitamin C, Zinc and antibiotics. Tomorrow will be a week. For some background, yes, I smoke. I drink. I am 37 and female. I am on my period too.
One month ago today I started coughing and have not stopped since. My 5 year old son had a cough and congestion before that so I figured I had picked up on whatever he had. For the first 5 days all I had was the cough, then I developed some sinus pressure that went away after 2 days. Cough still there, not coughing up anything, just constant itching in my lungs. Then I started noticing a wheezing noise when I exhaled as far as I could.
And eating chicken noodle soup, it also breaks up nasal and chest congestion. I think you have the same chest cold/flu that a bunch of other folks have in the U.S. and U.K. right now. It makes you feel like you're in a nightmare, you get really achy and unbelievably tired. If you smoke, then you've got bronchitis or maybe pneumonia, and the treatment is the same. Just watch your temperature, and if it shoots up to the 104 mark, you'll need to get to a doc.
CBC was done along with spinal, and was put on antibiotics, had a clear chest xray, all blood work came back normal, we were in hosp for 5 days. No fever any of the days after admittance. I also have a 3 year old and a 2 year old who have been battling RSV and bronchitis ever since the 3 year old started nursery school in Sept. My baby seems like a little petri dish for the other two. he has had RSV once and 3 colds and had to use a nebulizer with xoponex once for the RSV in December.
