What can u do for stuffy nose I can't breathe at all and its keeping me awake I believe
I had what I thought was a cold for a few days stuffy nose sore throat but now my chest is all congested and its kinda hard to breathe sometimes especially after doing something. I've been coughing for three days straight been taking an expectorant but haven't had too much luck yet... I think i'm running a fever not super high though... and I just feel super tired all the time...Any idea of what I can do to feel better?
I even have to cough when I laugh. For the past 2 days my nose has been stuffed up and my head feels stuffy. I am also having a lot of headaches for the past week and a half. I don't know if these are allergies or a severe cold. I also do not smoke so it can't be from that. When i start coughing sometimes I can't hardly stop.
It just seems so weird to me to have sudden heavy congestion in my throat and chest with no stuffy nose or other symptoms. As for the achy body, I think that's probably just from the violent coughing (so bad it makes me gag). I'm taking Mucinex now and tylenol for pain, and I'm feeling a little better. But how can avoid this in the future, and could this be a sign of something more serious?
the problem is i would wake up in the morning with chest congestion stuffy nose. i do have carpets in my bedroom and living room do you suggest me to get tested. for allergies. also when i got my chest xray no signs of emphysema.
While walking from car to ER entrance, a HUGE BLACK boogie came out of his nose. Poor thing! He still gets stuffy every now and then...fortunately my husband for some reason LOVES putting the saline in his nose and using the bulb syringe (I can't bring myself to do it since it looks like torture to me). Weird, I know. He also loves changing diapers!
It started off as a minor sore throat, nothing that really bothered me and a bit of a stuffy nose. Within two days both of those were replaced with chest congestion, tightness, and a wet cough producing green phlegm. Now its been about 5 days of wheezing and this cough i can feel the congestion deep down in my lungs. When i breathe i can feel the phlegm and mucus and i wheeze when i exhale. It is usually worse at night before i go to sleep. Im not quite sure If i should go see my doctor.
A few weeks ago I had a stuffy nose after using the heaters. No fever, no discharge. My doc checked my ears, nose, throat, chest and all was clear. Have been using nasal saline and steam. Still experiencing pain:pressure so was put on antibiotics even though I don' t know if this is bacterial. Just finished antibiotic but still experience occasional pain/pressure. Does it take awhile for pressure to subside? It has been almost two weeks and I don't want another antibiotic.
My nose has been so stuffy for 2 weeks now, being in my first trimester (about 9 weeks now), I've been avoiding taking anything. I had a severe ear infeaction 2 weeks ago and did a round of the zpak. That helped ALL my symptoms, except the stuffy nose. It's getting so bad that I can't sleep more than 45-60 minutes at a time without waking up. My lips and throat are drying out.
About 6-7 months ago I developed (as if overnight) extreme sinus congestion. Usually my nose is completely blocked up around the clock, especially in the morning. Blowing my nose tends to do nothing, except for the rare occasion that while standing in a hot shower I can get a bit of gunk out now and then. I also have had extremely red chapped lips ALL the time. My family physician did blood tests to test for vitamin deficiencies and found nothing out the ordinary.
lol But annoying because it happens out of no where! It's one thing to have a stuffy nose and need to blow it in public but to have stuff running out of your nose all of a sudden is rather embarrassing! Doctors really should be more in tune with this happening! I didn't think I would find anything on the internet but so many people are having the same issue!
Well ever since he has been home he has a problem with congestion. He is three months now. I took him to his ped several times who just advises saline drops and that nose aspirator. Well it doesnt work. He cries so hard and he fights me and by the time im done he's stuffy from crying again. then when i took my baby again he said that congestion is normal in preemies. Poor thing he is havimg a hard time breathing at night. he whines and snorts alot.
however, after the constant, initially hacking, but eventually crazy productive cough went away .... almost immediately as that slowed down I developed a stuffy/runny nose. Well, WITH that runny nose, NEW "cough" symptoms arose. The "cough" had definitely changed and was not the same "bronchitis cough" from before. It became LESS productive, but ....nonetheless, still productive if I coughed hard/long enough!
And then I usually end up with chest congestion-chest cold? When I was a child it wasn't like this-I could blow my nose. But adult years-forget about it. The other day I had terrible headache, above eyebrows, nose, under eyes, cheekbones, a lot of pressure, even teeth and gums. A couple of months ago I had left ear pain felt like I got punched literally in the ear. Diagnosed with otitis media, fluid behind eardrum. Still have tonsils and adenoids.
Sore throat, runny nose, stuffy head, congestion, and feels like a slight fever. I still have the chest ache, but it seems to be getting better as time goes by. Do i need to worry about the swine flu at all??? How do i know?? Please let me know what i should do, or a good way to treat this...thanks aaron.
this last episode of dripping came after a course of antibiotics for a chest/nose infection. the secretions were yellow now clear. allergies?
Like the original post noted, I had only the nose pain and swelling outside the nose, not inside. No nasal congestion, no clogged sinuses. Just a very sharp pain in the nose that seemed almost to be in the bone and cartilage, hurting mostly over the bridge and traveling down to the tip of the nose, as if my nose was broken. But I hadn't had any injury to my face. I've been on an antibiotic, Cephalexin, for 10 days and the pain is nearly all gone.
The pain in the chest has gone, the coughing and dryness is hardly there now. The stuffy nose is very slight. I hope this is of help to you.
I have a variety of things going on here. I'll try to keep it as simple as possible. About 4 weeks ago I began to have a dry, unproductive cough that resulted in a dry/sore throat, as well as a hoarse voice. About 3 days into it, the cough became VERY productive. After about 2 full weeks, the coughing become MUCH LESS FREQUENT, but still there. In fact, I STILL have a cough (not NEAR as bad as before....but I still do have to cough).
If you are a chronic mouth breather because of a stuffy nose, you're not alone. Do you feel like you can never get enough oxygen into your lungs? Do you feel tired all day no matter how much sleep you get? Have you tried various home remedies, over-the-counter medications or even prescription medications with no help? If you answered yes to any of the above, what you will read below will show you how critical it is to breathe well through your nose.
I'm putting vicks vaporub on my chest but I can't breath through my nose so I can't smell it (DH says I stink of it from a mile away and DD thought it was cool so she wanted to have some last night too) and I'm not sure that I can tell a difference in my chest congestion either. There has to be something out there that I can take that will start giving me some relief. I think I need to make an appointment with my regular doctor and go see him.
Hey Guys and Dolls, Its winter over here on my side of the world, i had vertigo the other month due to stuffy ears, nose and throat and i'm now the lucky winner of a broncular chest infection, and taking meds for it. lol I practically grew up with broncular infections and faragitis but this would have to be the first time that I can remember, where my breathing has become a bit of a problem.
I have a horribly stuffy clogged up nose that I feel like I am blowing every five minutes. Any suggestions on how to relieve it? Took a warm shower/bath but that was a temporary solution.
I live on the East Coast, and I have a fever, chest cold, aches and pains, and feel like I want to do away with myself! Husband had it, and and now I have it, and some relatives who live near me had it recently. I've had a lot of pneumonia and bronchitis over the years, but this thing takes the cake. I noticed on TV that some government people had the sniffles. I don't have as much sniffles, but I do need to blow my nose occasionally.
But since the begining, (its 29th day), i still have following persistent symptoms (1) very sore throat/throat congestion, (2) fatigue, (3) spoungy nose, (4) mild diarrhea, (5) neck/back pain, (6) pricking/itching skin (7) and very occasional red bump on skin I went to ENT specialist n within 05-10 minutes he told me dat it might be some Upper respiratory infection and prescribed some antibiotics (azithromycin) due to which my diarrhea got worst.
Mine is little different because where ever I am at this smell stays in, my room , at work and in my car.. and the smell changes all the time it depends what I eat. I also get thursty If I dont drink water. I start to get a dry throat and mouth... If i drink anything else that is not water my breath gets worse.. please help!

A couple of days ago, I contract something outside and the next day, I began having serious chills, stuffy nose, chest feeling stuffy, etc. Then the next day, it got worse (and yes, I took medicine for flu/cold) with coughing up (I'm presuming) some bloody mucus several times (it's more like a rust color), dry coughing mostly, severe chest congestion (Robatusson {sp?} doesn't work), and severe congestion in my nose.
Cough is usually accompanied by feeling tired, achy, running a fever, and/or having a runny/stuffy nose with clear or yellow/green mucous. Anti-histamines may be taken to stop it. ref:http://www.chemocare.com/managing/cough_and_chemotherapy.
