I had what I thought was a cold for a few days stuffy nose sore throat but now my chest is all congested and its kinda hard to breathe sometimes especially after doing something. I've been coughing for three days straight been taking an expectorant but haven't had too much luck yet... I think i'm running a fever not super high though... and I just feel super tired all the time...Any idea of what I can do to feel better?
For about a year now I have had a cough and chest congestion, my doctor has switched my asthma medications several times thinking that might be the reason for my cough and congestion, she's tried many different types of allery medications, I have been to the pulmonologist, had a chest x-ray and nothing was found, but the cough and congestion I still have.
It just seems so weird to me to have sudden heavy congestion in my throat and chest with no stuffy nose or other symptoms. As for the achy body, I think that's probably just from the violent coughing (so bad it makes me gag). I'm taking Mucinex now and tylenol for pain, and I'm feeling a little better. But how can avoid this in the future, and could this be a sign of something more serious?
I had Anterior Cervical discectomy and fusion C-3/4. 2 weeks ago. throat was sore and it was hard to talk and swallow solids. 3 days after I got , what I thought was a simple cold with nasal congestion and low grade fever lasting couple of days. The nasal discharge has been copious and clear. My concern is the severe congested cough that has developed and lasting over a week/ my nasal discharge has lessoned and is still clear or white.
we have great sex and he is definitely a great lover-however, in the past few months I get a sore throat everytime we kiss and have sex. I will get a major cold, chest congestion etc and we will wait until I feel better and as soon as we get together again I end up with a sore throat, congestion etc. why is this happening?
After being on Copaxone for 3 months I developed difficulty breathing and severe chest congestion and it will not go away even after taking broad spectrum antibiotics. My dr. denies any connection with Copaxone. But it is the only thing that has changed in my life - taking Copaxone injections. Has anyone heard of a link.
I had protected sex 1 month ago and about a week and a half later I ended up with a minor cold (minor sore throat, chest and nasal congestion and productive cough and no temperature). The cold lasted about a week and a day. Around 3 days after the cold symptoms diminished I got a sore throat again, only very minor and in one general spot near my right tonsil and slight tenderness under my right ear. As stated the soreness is minor but has lasted nearly 3 weeks now.
The congestion and sneezing have left, however, a sore throat and coughing persists. When I cough, I cough up clear and opaque phlegm. I tried taking Claratin and that seems to help a little. But I'm starting to think that this is beyond allergies and might be a bacterial infection?
I have no fever, but have some nasal congestion as well as some tightness in my chest. I have been using throat lozenges and taking Mucinex DM along with some ibuprofen to cut down on some of the throat pain. This is really starting to concern me - maybe it is just post-nasal drip, as my tonsils in the back of my throat are very red. I had an HIV/HEP test 3 weeks ago for work and that was negative - so I am wondering what this could be?
10 days ago I began to feel sick. 8 days ago I had sore throat, congestion, minor headache, body aches and cough. I spent 4 days in bed with most of same symptoms. The constants were sore throat and congestion. No fever. Chills once for a short period. During this time I was expelling a little phlegm both through throat and nose, mostly in am when awakening and in the shower. I went to work after 4th day. Felt fair during day, nights were usually bad.
It started off as a minor sore throat, nothing that really bothered me and a bit of a stuffy nose. within two days both of those were replaced with chest congestion, tightness, and a wet cough producing green phlegm. Now its been about 5 days of wheezing and this cough i can feel the congestion deep down in my lungs. When i breathe i can feel the phlegm and mucus and i wheeze when i exhale. It is usually worse at night before i go to sleep. Im not quite sure If i should go see my doctor.
My symptoms initially began as a cold with chest congestion, extreme throat pain, fatigue, and a fever for the first two days. Almost all of those symptoms went away within one week and now I'm left with the sore throat. I also have post nasal drip so I'm wondering if this is causing the pain. The pain seems to get worse in the evening or in cold temperatures. It hurts to talk also. No one that has been around me has gotten a sore throat so it makes me feel like it is not strep throat.
i have had a cough for quite some time, i feel like im strangling on the phlem in my throat..

i have a deep cough, wheezing in my chest, sore throat, and i can barely speak. congestion, runny nose. can you help me out, the dr i went to basically said allergies but since going i have gotten worse and the meds dont seem to help.
fever over 101, Coughlin up a lot of phlegm, not getting better in 2-3 days I just wrote this straight from the page my OBGYN office gave me titled "list of approved medication during pregnancy".
Started with classic bronchitis symptome... sore throat, nasal congestion - yellow mucus, hoarse voice, frequent dry cough-note:about the same time I cleaned my mothers basement and porch which was FULL of dust and very damp and nasty. I spent about an hour down there. Saw my GP the day I got back and he said there was a virus going around. Two days later I woke up in the middle of the night with a deep whining-wheezing-gurgling sound in my chest.
I'm 8 weeks and have a head cold with sinus congestion. sore throat and such. Looking for some home remedies or opinions on what to help.
So the last two days I've had a sore throat and it feels like I could cough something up, but when I cough nothing comes out. I'm just wondering if there is anything I can take that is safe for baby that can help with whatever it is that I have? Idk if its strep...it kind of hurts to swallow but its not too bad. I'm really hoping it's just a chest cold. But any suggestions on things that are safe to take?
html#SXX15 You might want to give it a look, it does mention that if you get a headache call Doc. sore throat and neck tenderness is rare, although it happens sometimes. Trying to help!!! Feel better!
The following night, 2/25, I felt what can best described as nasal drip in the back of my throat and the following morning, 2/26, I woke up with a mild sore throat. The sore throat never hurt to where it was painful, it was more of a scratchy feeling and at some points I would not even feel it. I also experienced a stuffed up nose and nasal drainage.
I have been suffering from a feeling of pghlem in my chest and throat for 2 months now, I went to A&E because it felt like i had something stuck in my throat,i was giving penicillin for a rasp in my chest after being sounded,i then got another course from the doctor as i didnt feel any better and still had the sensation of mucus in my throat, i just cant shift it no matter how hard i try,i just keep gettin a sore throat from all the trying, i was asked if i could swallow properly which i hav

25th, after a really long day of worrying, I felt what I can best describe as nasal drip in the back of my throat and on the following morning, Feb. 26th, I woke up with a mild sore throat. The sore throat never hurt to where it was painful, it was more of a scratchy feeling and at some points I would not even feel it. I also experienced a stuffed up nose and nasal drainage. Today, the sore throat is almost none existent and I am no longer experiencing nasal congestion.
About 3 days after that I started getting a tightness in my chest and congestion, but not really a sore throat. The day after I had sex with my TS friend I french kissed a woman friend. My woman friend is now complaining of a sore throat 4 days after I kissed her. Is it possible I got throat gonorrhea from my TS friend and gave it to my woman friend by kissing her? Based on everything I've read, I think I'm over reacting and this is probably a virus that will run it's course.
I got phenylephrine nasal drops, which cleared up my congestion, and took congestion/cold medicine (tylenol, guaifenesin, phenylephrine), and got a bit of sleep. Saturday - I woke up breathing out of my mouth with a slightly sore throat and had trouble sleeping the rest of the day - I got back to sleep after another drop of the new nasal spray but I know I'm not supposed to overuse it. The congestion is even worse - the neti pot this time did almost nothing.
- Mild, occasional diarrhea - Occasional bloated feeling and trouble properly emptying my bladder (resulting in having to go to the bathroom frequently, particularly when I try to sleep). - Moderate muscle and joint aches. - My throat isn't what I'd call sore but at times it... feels like there's something there. During those times it's harder for me to swallow. - At times I get a mild skin rash over my chest which disappears in an hour or two and re-appears on a daily basis.
The persistent cough, along with the possible presence of lingering congestion, could be causing your upper airways and throat to be inflamed and sore. Also, there could be a possibility of a hiatal hernia. Frequent or hard coughing is a risk factor. I hope that you will consider seeing a physician. Good luck.
I don't have any other cold/flu symptoms like running or stuffy nose, chest congestion, watery eyes, etc. except for a little dry cough. Neither do I see any white patches or rashes in my throat. I heard that viral infection will run its own course and should start to feel better after 4-5 days, but I feel like my worst right now. I tried warm salt water gagle, ibuprofen, and ice pack. The relief is temporary and after 1/2 hr the pain comes back.
