I went for an ultrasound and blood test for my thyroid and those results were normal. Hi all. I had an ablation 4 weeks ago and since that time I have been experiencing chest tightness, pressure, and sharp pains in the heart. I am seeing my doctor on a weekly basis to determine the cause and undergo treatment. Following a work up of tests (echo, nuclear stress, ekg, etc.) the doctor has determined that everything in the heart is normal and that this "discomfort may be something that I just have to ride out.
For the past four years, I've experienced a strange rubbing sound/sensation in my lower throat/upper chest area. It occurs only whenever I twist my torso from side to side, such as when exercising, or quickly turning to the side via pivoting at the waist. It feels & sounds like something is causing friction. I cannot pinpoint where it is coming from, but it seems to be my lower throat/upper chest, somewhere around collarbone level. It seems to be located within the windpipe or esophagus.
It started off I had severe chest pain and a severe sore throat, coughing made it much worse and I had a headache. I eventually lost my voice multiple times and it transitioned into just nose and chest congestion. Now I'm just getting past all that but now I'm experiencing extreme night sweats, nausea, diarrhea, the urge to vomit and extreme fatigue.

Unless mucus from my nose is draining and making me feel this way. Do you think I am getting the flu?

Headache, head congestion, severe coughing, severe amount of chest congestion, swollen glands in neck and under arms, watery eyes, exhausted all the time, don't have the strength to even get in the shower some days, ears are full, my equalibrium is off because of ears, stuffy and runny nose, severe body aches, sore throat, I lost my voice allot. Some days I sleep up to 16 hours! The only time I have ever been this sick was when I had mono.
Every time you get a cold, notice how it usually starts in the throat with a tickle, a scratch, or a slight cough. It then progresses into chest congestion or travels up into the ears and the sinuses. You’ll have a low grade fever, mild chills, and a runny nose. Even if you start out with a runny nose, eventually, you’ll have throat symptoms later on. Sounds like a classic cold, right?
Some days are better than others, but feel like constantly fighting another chest infection/congestion. Had weeks of Amoxicillin, rounds of Doxycycline. Felt better on the 10 days of Doxycline, but Doctor thinks more antibiotics aren't needed. Pulmonologist didn't know and ordered more tests ie) asthma etc. Asthma test negative. My GP thinks it might be bronchiectasis. Wouldn't that show up on the CT scan? CT was normal. I have lost 15 pounds since Feb.
For the past week or so I've had sinus congestion, some sneezing, lots of drainage and eventually lost my voice. I've just been wiped out by the end of the day. I went to the doctor 4 days ago b/c it didn't seem to be going away and was told it was just a cold. The past couple of nights I've woken with a tight chest, hurts when I take deep breaths and a painful cough that brings up sputum. I can literally feel in my chest where I've 'unlodged' the yuck from my lungs.
lost my voice and had chest congestion. Docter said maybe bronchitis. Not much of a sore throat maybe for a day or two when I coughed. Cough was gone in about 2 days. Went in for an hiv test at 30 days and it came back negative. At that time the pain and burning feeling went away. Imagine that. now a 5 1/2 weeks i developed a cankor sore in my mouth and also some bumps on my chest that looks like pimples. Maybe 6-10 of them.

I've took few streptsils during the day and they brought some of my voice back but during the evening is gotten worse. I've lost all of my voice and barely can make any sounds, my throat is very sore and dry, I tried drinking water to moisturise it but it's not helping and it hurts more. I cough persistantly, and when I cough, i cough up this dark yellow thick mucus. Also my chest feels very heavy and stiff and i find it hard to breathe.
It was accompanied by congestion and I also lost my voice. The cough is significanly worse at night- so I can't get much sleep. I have attacks where I can't stop coughing for several minutes. I've since been given one cough med after another. Now I'm on hydrocodone with guaifenesin, but it's only marginally working to control the cough. I've also developed a very severe pain in my left rib area below my breast.

I have been drinking Tang twicet a day tho. and I wanted a drink real bad and I wanted to score pills and I wanted to text Copelin and I wanted to score h to smoke it like I used to but I pretty much cant get it I think so that was out but I didn't cuz I reminded myself that I promised myself no more. and today is 25. but I wanted to.
If your doctor is worried that you might have pneumonia, a chest x-ray can look to see if there's an infection, especially for those who have coughed for more than 3 weeks. With a viral bronchitis, you should avoid antibiotics especially zpacks (Zithromax / azithromycin) which are overprescribed for these symptoms , and can lead to side effects and adverse drug reaction such as rash, antibiotic drug resistance and yeast infections.
And hypopnea is restricted breathing with greater than 30% chest wall movement decrease and blood oxygen drop of more than 4% for 10 seconds or more. A pretty complicated definition! The total combinations of apneas and hypopneas for the entire night divided by the total number of hours one sleeps gives us the apnea/hypopnea index or the AHI. This is the most commonly used measure to diagnose sleep apnea.
I felt very nauseous for about a week even though i slowly began to start eating it always felt as though something was stuck in my throat, and I'd experience a pain in my chest (I have never been a suffer or heartburn) Now, i must add I had a major surgery a few years ago, and since then i have slowly developed issues with my digestive system and have IBS. I am gluten free, and i don't eat diary. I have been this way for a year now..
Lastly, not breathing well through your nose can aggravate snoring or obstructive sleep apnea. Nasal congestion alone doesn't cause obstructive sleep apnea, but it can definitely aggravate it. If your palate and tongue structures are predisposed to falling back easily due to sleeping on your back and muscle relaxation in deep sleep, then having a stuffy nose can aggravate further collapse downstream.
I was looking for bruises as it felt like I had been in a fight and had lost against several attackers! I could find none but every muscle from my ears to my waist hurt. I managed sleep by showers and 500mg Aleve at bedtime. This lasted about 4 days and then disappeared like it had never been there. Weird. No, I was not on my steroid at the time. I had just finished my last dose two days earlier.
I started with a sinus infection and chest congestion. On a one full day of coughing, I felt more and more pressure in my ears. Went to the Dr. he gave me 2 sinus sprays (prescription) and an antibiotic. Within a week of medication, sinus' cleared, coughing cleared, but it still fills like a baseball is stuck in my right ear and golf ball in my left. Ringing (sometimes very high pitched), vertigo, the sound of my own voice echos in my head. Going on my fourth week, the dr.
Does anyone have any insight as to what could be causing these symptoms of chest pain and chest/back/arm/neck burning? Thanks for reading and any advice you might have.
Sickest I have EVER been in my 40 years of life. Been sick with chest congestion for going on 9 weeks, started with very hard dry cough, broke a rib coughing, on 3rd time of antibiotic, inhalers, antihistamines, now root canal(related?), very very tired, can't focus, losing tons of money from not working and high priced medications like levaquin. only thing good is i quit smoking 1st week into this.
I haven't been around any cats, and my thyroid and lyme disease tests were both negative. I went to a hematologist a couple of days before the congestion, ear pain, and loss of voice occurred (bad timing), and made the mistake of telling him that I thought the lymph swelling in the back of my neck had stopped. Of course, later that night, the swelling came back.
As six weeks went by I realised this was no ordinary cough and my Doctor prescribed me cough medicine and a course of antibiotics because of it being suspected chest infection. Then at 8 weeks I was back at my Doctors again who gave me heartburn medicine, as I was complaining of heartburn which I feel at the time was a 'product' of all the coughing not a symptom. I was also given a asthma reliever inhaler...which I tried and does not seem to help in the slightest.
