What it feels like is the chronic post nasal drip I have has caused congestion in my upper chest. However, the weird part is, I really have no cough, and the occasional cough has never brought anything up. In the past, if my chest begins to feel this way, it is followed by the painful cough and coughing stuff up. I would not call what I have sometimes as pain, it feels more like irritation. When I am active, as well as when I drink a lot of water, it seems to be much better.

No fever except for first day of infection. Congestion and pain in my chest lasted for 6 weeks. Doctor gave steriod shot and z pack. 21 days later congestion returned, new antibiotic and flonaise prescibed. No fever as i check everyday. Had some warm feelings in my arms and legs but no swelling of nodes, except for one on right chest nipple for a couple days. Itching inside veins elbow and below right knee for a bout a week.
I tested negative after 6 weeks, but came down with bronchitis/sinus infection (bacterial since antibiotics cleared it) about 1 month after exposure and I still have residual sinus/ chest congestion problems 5 months later. I also had a small skin rash that appeared 2 months after exposure and lasted for 6 weeks but cleared after treatment with prescription cortisone. I have allergies and had a history of bronchitis as a teenager, but these allergies have been especially rougher than usual.
I took some allergy meds and got congested. I had the congestion and cough for over a week now with no fever. What are the chances I have HIV? I know for a fact that I did not have hiv prior to this event.
Your symptoms of possible petchieae, easy bruising and chest congestion do not suggest HIV. Even if they were, your negative blood test means HIV isn't a possible cause. However, the bruising and possible petechiae are potentially serious, regardless of your diet, and definitely need professional evaluation.
Having said all that, if you want even greater certainty you don't have HIV, have another test now.
Welcome to the forum. I apologize for a somewhat delayed reply to your question.
As you were informed on the community forum, you had a zero risk exposure with regard to HIV and other STDs. They are not transmitted without direct sexual contact, which you did not have. In other words, whoever said you "cannot any stds this way much lesss hiv" was exactly right. And your symptoms are not at all suggestive of HIV or other STDs. These things do not cause nasal congestion etc.
results of other sti not in yet. few more days later and i got a cough, congestion in chest, and persistent mild fever. no rash, no messy poop. unsure if fever is related to sti. too early for ars?
talked to other guy, said he got tested in feb for hiv and was neg. seemed like a real nice guy but... who knows.
The 3rd week I got caught in the rain and woke up with a sore throat for a day or two then came the sinus drainage and chest congestion. Everything is ok now except for a little chest congestion. Now I have had little sore spots in my mouth that go and come. AM I DYING or what? Do I need another HIV test?

Hi i had unprotected sex with a female 11 and half weeks ago and at about 6 weeks started to get blurry vision and congestion also i have had 2 rashes on my chest that lasted a few hours and a dry throat and mouth. i still have the blurry vision and congestion i went to the sti clinic at 2 weeks and all was negative i know this is to early for a conclusive hiv test and i will go back next week for another blood test. The question is would i still have acute hiv at 11 weeks?
Welcome to the Forum. I'll be pleased to address your concerns. The short version of my response is that there you have no need to be concerned. Your exposure was a no risk exposure. Condom protected sex is safe sex with no risk for HIV. Further, you can be confident that your condom worked. When condoms fail, they break wide open leaving no doubt that the condom has failed.
Now today, about two weeks later, I have what looks like tonsillitis again. This time with chest congestion (burning sensation) and some achiness. Again no swollen nodes or fever. I know symptoms can in no way determine or diagnose. I was wondering if the presentation of the symptoms (type and timing) along with the associated risk warranted worry. Chest congestion and an itchy throat are not HIV symptoms...and as you were were informed, you have a conclusive test result, which means you are 100% negative.
