After being on Copaxone for 3 months I developed difficulty breathing and severe chest congestion and it will not go away even after taking broad spectrum antibiotics. My dr. denies any connection with Copaxone. But it is the only thing that has changed in my life - taking Copaxone injections. Has anyone heard of a link.
It started off as a minor sore throat, nothing that really bothered me and a bit of a stuffy nose. Within two days both of those were replaced with chest congestion, tightness, and a wet cough producing green phlegm. Now its been about 5 days of wheezing and this cough i can feel the congestion deep down in my lungs. When i breathe i can feel the phlegm and mucus and i wheeze when i exhale. It is usually worse at night before i go to sleep. Im not quite sure If i should go see my doctor.
This past week, I have been experiencing chest congestion and coughing up greenish phlegm but have no cold symptoms. Am asthmatic but has been under control for many years. Even though still taking Singulair and Advair daily, have been having shortness of breath and am very tired. Am also using Proventil which I rarely use and it's barely making a difference. Even something as simple as turning from side to side in bed is leaving me breathless.
Pure lemon juice for congestion. Steam. Honey for cough. Lots of green tea and oj. Medicine just puts you to sleep. Cold lasts just as long,.so why take it?
I ended up taking two antibiotics which ultimately cleared up the infection and green mucus, however not the constant cough, chest and nasal congestion. The mucus is clear and sometimes loose and other times I will cough it up and it seems to be chunky. I use my albuterol inhaler often due to not being able to breathe with the cough and congestion, I constantly feel that my chest is tight. I have also taken 2 more antibiotics hoping it would clear up but it has not.
I can't eat today because it's making a sucktion tunnel and my ears are popping when I try to eat - oh, and because my nose is stuffy I can't breathe when I eat! I can hardly get any of the mucus out and when I do, it's only a tiny bit of clear stuff. Today it's so bad and I couldn't be more miserable with it. I've tried the saline spray and afrin. My nose is so stuffy that it all just runs right back out.
Hello all, for about a month now I have had a cough with chest congestion, sometimes it's productive, sometimes it's not, and I cough up green and yellow sputum. I also have nasal congestion and when I blow my nose it's a lot green mucus. The symptoms actually seem to go away late night and return 2 hours or so after I wake up. I have had no fever and no other symptoms. Any advice is appreciated. Thanks!
Is a Hacking Cough with sounds of congestion in the upper chest typical of COPD? My mother for the last month would expel white colored globs of mucus periodically after a few minutes of coughing. She has no fever nor loss of appetite. Her geriatrician tried Azithromycin 500mg tabs for 5 days which seemed to help but then the coughing and globs returned. The doctor then doubled her Pulmicort doseage in her Nebulizer for two weeks to see if that helped plus using Robitussin as needed.
My 2 1/2 month old has been really stuffed up the last few days and it's started to move to her chest. I took her to the docs yesterday and she was prescribed an antibiotic. I just started her on her first 2 doses yesterday. Anyway....when she's been pooping it is greenish instead of the normal mustard yellow. Could this be that she is sick and isn't getting to the fatty milk? Should I supplement with formula at all or no?
I realize coughing up yellowish-green or green mucus is normal when you have bronchitis, but what about bright, lemon yellow colored mucus? What is it? What caused it? How do I get rid of it? Should I be worried? (Have had typical bronchitis symptoms for aprox. 3 weeks...cough, chest congestion, runny/congested nose, lots of phlem, lose of voice, raspy voice, deep chest cough, fever (first week), trouble sleeping because it feels like someone is sitting on my chest when I lay down...
if you can taste infection its mostlikely a sinus infection.. whitch will cause chest congestion.. whitch will make you cough and your teeth hurt and your ears hurt and give you headaches.. lol if you dont have thoese symptoms it could be pneumonia.. if the mucus is orange or green and you have not yet gone to the doctor i would go.. if its yellow or light green its viral and they cant do anything take advil and try and sleep..
If the mucus feels like its coming from the base of your chest then it suggests that the infection is quiet low down your respiratory tract. If you have been feeling more tired or weak this would be the cause of it because you would be unable to transpport enough oxygen to the rest of your body causing fatigue. If you do have a respiratory infection and you chose not to be treated by a gp then you run the risk of pneumonia which would land you in the hospital eventually.
I told her I'd been sick a few weeks before with a lot of congestion, mostly in the throat that caused thick mucus when I coughed. My EKG and D-dimer came back normal, my cholesterol is normal (under 200), but I have high triglycerides. She told my my chest pain was most likely caused by being sick weeks before and to not worry too much about it. She said when she listened to my lungs I made a "wooooosh" instead of the normal, non-sick "woosh".
I have been told I can take more, but I have not cleared that with my doctors yet. 3) Sinus rinses can help reduce drainage and therefore chest congestion. You should talk to your doctor about the headaches. They sound like migraines or cluster head aches. Cluster headaches might be more likely. The research I have done on them (I have been experiencing terrible headaches recently as well) says that they are sudden with very severe pain headaches. They can come in clusters (off and on).
If so, is it normal for that mucus that comes up to be quite sticky and thick and SLIGHTLY green? I always read green=infection, but....I feel fine. And I only cough voluntarily to "get rid of stuff" that I know deep down IS in there. The "exhaling wheezing type mucus in chest noise" is getting better but still there. Am I just being impatient? I'm starting to freak out that I have lung cancer or something?! (p.s. 27 non smoker!
I have woken recently on a number of occasions feeling I am suffocating and someone is pushing on my chest. I have a sticky white mucus that is constantly in the back of my throat but does not block my nose. I have dry eyes and a dry mouth and drinking does not help clear it, only a loud long snort slightly dislodges it. When I clean my teeth I retch as I cannot swallow. I have tried beconaise and sudafed as well as other nasal sprays, nothing works.
I wouldn't have thought the the low thyroid would cause chest pains. This is likely be to be congestion, asthma, muscle problems. What did your doctor reckon it was?
I also have a little chest congestion that seems to make me cough in the evening hours. My teeth actually hurt worse than anything right now! I don't even want to eat and I can't have hot drinks because I also have rosacea. I am a mother of two toddlers and attend online classes for my school. I am so busy all the time and can't concentrate as well as I used to. I just took some Ibruprofen, about 800 mgs..does anyone know of any other solutions at this point?
The worst thing of all, because you can’t really pin point that you have Sinus and that your Mucus is NOT Green or Yellow all the TIME, the Doctor won’t take you seriously… SECIONT I: (SKIP TO SECTION II IF IN HURRY) But first : To Goober_Dork Yep totally feel your frustration, umm, yeah probably a good idea to skip milk,,, the only reason the Doc's changed there mind about Milk and Mucus 7 years ago was that it was effecting the Dairy industry,, that is if you want to believe that, no one
Chest congestion, sinus congestion with green mucus, sore throat, headache and i feel terrible. Is there anything i can take to relieve my symptoms or am i stuck suffering? I forgot to mention this started 2 weeks ago and has gotten progressively worse.
If you are coughing up yellow or green mucus, you probably have bronchitis. I hope you are feeling better by now. Sometimes waiting it out can work and/or using OTC remedies like saline for your sinuses can do wonders. If you aren't feeling better and still have the yellowish stuff --- I would see a physician.

Hot bowl of water with vick or olbas oil and breathe the vapours with your head covered with a towel - take care of the hot water. This will help any congestion. If you start to bring up green mucus with your cough or your chest hurts, go to the doctor as sometimes you can get a bacterial infection. Antibiotics will not help a virus, but they will help if you have a bacterial infection. I am on the tail end of mine and I have a persistent cough easing off now - it is now 4 weeks.
ALL OF A SUDDEN this evening my throat became scratchy, then I developed a cough and runny nose. After a few hours I could hear congestion in my chest. After a few cups of hot team with honey, lemon and a little brandy i spit up a greenish color mucus that eventually turned clear. Most of the rattle in my chest is gone, but my throat is sore and I do not have a fever. What is going on???
I initially vomited light green mucus, then mucus with a little bit of blood in it. I got myself to an emergency doctor who said he believes the doctors and A&E missed it and i have congestion particularly in my right lung which he believes to be pneumonia. He said he wouldn't admit me to hospital as my oxygen levels were normal and my blood pressure wasn't rapidly decreasing. He's given me antibiotics and an inhaler to use.
have had at the beginning of october alot congestion nose and throat and ear congestion cough and mucus that would not come out the doctor said it was allergies so he told me to take zyrtec and flonose nasal spray and prescribed me amoxicillin 250mg 3 x a day for 15 days and took allegraD and it help a lil only till it wore off so im still not feeling better and am desperate to be better i have a two yr old. .i even tried the nasal irrigation and not better..
Two days after sore Throat i lost my voice and a day later began coughing and producing green phlem especially in the morning and At night.. Tuesday I started with a stuffy nose and post-nasal drip, then on about Thursday/Friday it developed with some chest congestion. I don't feel the need to cough, but every now and then I'll cough up a small little bit of green sputum. Along with that yellow/clear mucus is coming out of my nose. I am in the military and the hospital on base does not have an ER room/sick call and I can not go downtown to the ER unless it's an emergency.
