chest congestion during pregnancy

Hi all! I'm currently 6 weeks 5 days and oh man... The pleasure of morning sickness! Other than the nausea and vomiting, I'm also coughing a lot and the phlegm is making my chest and nose super congested. I've read that you'll have more mucus build up during pregnancy, so is it normal to feel this congested during the first trimester? Any advise on how to make the congestion better?

I am 30 weeks pregnant and suffering from nasal congestion, cough and chest congestion- any recommendations for safe meds while sick?? Thank you in advance.

So, my 18 month old step son came back from Memorial day with my sister in law, went swimming and had a blast, A day later thought, he starts getting a horrible cold, congestion chest congestion and coughing. And now i have the same thing.

Just curious to know what symptom has hit you ladies the worst during your pregnancy? Mines has definitely been heartburn and it drives me insane. It will just start up for no reason at all, I'm awake now at 5 am because it just hit me again.

Ugh me too feels like forever that I been sick almost a week nowm I guess our immune system isn't as good since we're prego.

What it feels like is the chronic post nasal drip I have has caused congestion in my upper chest. However, the weird part is, I really have no cough, and the occasional cough has never brought anything up. In the past, if my chest begins to feel this way, it is followed by the painful cough and coughing stuff up. I would not call what I have sometimes as pain, it feels more like irritation. When I am active, as well as when I drink a lot of water, it seems to be much better.

For about a year now I have had a cough and chest congestion, my doctor has switched my asthma medications several times thinking that might be the reason for my cough and congestion, she's tried many different types of allery medications, I have been to the pulmonologist, had a chest x-ray and nothing was found, but the cough and congestion I still have.

I have severe chest congestion. This has been going on for about 3 months. It's strange because I will have constant congestion and cough one day and the next day I will be almost clear. I know that if I have congestion one day the next day I will not. I plan my days accordingly. I have this tightness in my chest i kno its mucus but i dont have a cough or cold it hurts when i try to take a deep breath ive never had chest congestion before im not coughing up blood or anything like that. ive been using my asthma pump because when i was younger i had trouble with asthma it helps clearing my airways so i can breath easier but it comes back after awhile. I just moved to Denver from Chicago. Right before we left, I could tell I had a sinus infection, as I have a long history of sinus issues. I also have stomach issues, history of a couple ulcers. A couple of ENT's have told me I have obvious signs of GERD, though I don't often have indigestion, sometimes I can taste acid in the morning. Anyway, I saw a doc when I arrived in Denver and she gave me Biaxin for the sinus infection. Only it doesn't seem to have cleared up.

I been having coughing, chest congestion, nasal congestion and coughing up nasty stuff (mucus) ewww. What can I take or what can I do to fight this bug? Because I feel hopeless.

t know I was pregnant so I took antibiotics that are not safe during pregnancy and my baby is cooking fine I was also on bed rest due to bleeding when I got sick again I just took regular DM cough syrup and slept and now I'm due in 3 days

I know one has to be very careful with medication during pregnancy but can anyone suggest any syrup/medicine that is okay to use and very effective? Formula of that medicine will work best for me. Thanks and waiting for your responses.

I will be 11 weeks tomorrow and have a bad sinus infection. My doctor gave me amoxicillin. Said it's a safe antibiotic to take during pregnancy. Call your doctor. Feel better soon!

After eating certain foods I get quite a bit of mucus build-up in my lungs and find myself coughing a lot after meals. I'm 17 years old and don't think this is due to acid reflux as I don't have any other symptoms and am quite young. I notice it immediately after I finish eating (not sure if it actually starts during eating as I'm not really focused on how my chest feels while eating). Does anyone have any idea of what this may be?

I have nasal congestion all the time I use nasal spray it works fast just dont use it too much Oh im 5 months

Thanks everyone. Been sick for a boy a month. I was pretty much all better and then like a couple days ago woke up with sinus congestion..hate it. I hate being sick.

I always used the humidifier and rubbed my chest in really well with vicks rub. We can use that. Green tea with some honey, and breath in all the steam. That's all I've got. Wish I could offer some magic cure. If you end up with a fever, even low grade, call right away. I was very sick with a flu like illness at 6 weeks and I had an ear infection that wasn't going away. I was on augmentin for 10 days.

I laid in bed all day and then finally remembered my OB gave me a paper with a list of medications I can take during my pregnancy. I saw Robitussin DM and sent my fiancé after some... But once he got home with it, I was apprehensive to take it.. I googled and called pharmacist and then finally broke down and took HALF of the recommended dosage.

Herpes wouldn't cause chest congestion. Has he seen a doctor about that? How long do his symptoms last? Perhaps he's allergic to something you are using during sex - lube, bedding, condoms, etc.
