Hi, i am a teenager and i have a quite serious problem. I have a shortness of breath, it seems like there is something pushing my chest slightly. I can't take a deep breath. Sometimes, it seems like I can't breath at all. When that happens, i have a tingling sensation in my hands and chest. A few days before, the area around my eyes is a bit uncomfortable and a bit nausea. Then two days later, I had a sudden short of breath and i was admitted to hospital.

A lot of the symptoms that go along with vdd mimic other conditions, including the shortness of breath/chest pain and pressure, arthritis....you will also find that a great many, if not most, ppl with vdd have been diagnosed with fibromyalgia. I think that vdd actually IS undiagnosed vdd, myself.
I second 9na and phyllis regarding sticking with this! It not only takes allot of time, but also can feel just as bad maybe worse before it feels better.
Inhaling cold air can cause bronchospasm, which can cause shortness of breath by restricting air flow. If you're not getting much air, you're not getting as much oxygen to the brain, which can make you lightheaded.

I also looked up the syptoms of an allergy to the formaldehyde found in carpet and the short term effects are flu like symptoms, and the long term effects are shortness of breath, chest pains or tightness, cough and weezing!! It all fits! I sure hope this is it because I want to get better before allergy season starts back up!!
-) Drink cold water and try laying down on your left side, you will get a better oxygen flow. Also even sometimes sitting straight up and leaning forward and breathing in slowly as you move back and forth (rocking) also does magic!
Hi, Its been almost 4 months I had feeling of shortness of breath and chest discomfort in the middle/between the chests like sliding each other and feeling sounded crack.
Before all these symptoms started almost 8months now I had cold flu type..like I cough a lot with nothing serious like blood and all..but it continued almost a month even though I had some antibiotics..
Thanks for your response. I am a smoker of about 30 years. I do have shortness of breath; not all the time, but some time. I had a cold a month or so ago and received antibiotics (bacterial); but I still cough up a little mucous during the day and it seems I am having shortness of breath a little more than usual. I went back to the dr for a chest x-ray and received the above stated results. I have a ct scan scheduled for next week...
All I think I have done is hurt myself more and now I have shoulder pain, some back pain (all on the right side, same as the chest pain). I do have a bit of shortness of breath but I think it is mostly brought on by anxiety as when I am not thinking about my breathing I am fine - it is only when I start panicking or think about breathing does the shortness of breath seem to appear. Today I also experienced a cold back when I got up. I thought I was going crazy.

I hope this is clearing up for you. I had shortness of breath about 2 weeks ago. At first I didn't think much of it since I was recovering from a cold at the time, but I was getting light headed really really and still having shortness of breath after 3 days. So I went to the ER, and the Dr said it was merely a complication of pregnancy. Has anyone else experienced shortness of breath while taking a shower. It just happened to me. Hello. I've had shortness of breath, chest pains and side pains x2 weeks now. I started with this cough that won't go ago a week ago. Went to my dr and she did a chest x-ray and labs. The chest x-ray was normal and all of the labs but the D-Dimer came back normal. They gave me a shot of steroids and started me on prednisone. I've been on the prednisone since last Friday and don't feel any better. I did a stat CT of my chest last Friday which came back fine.

Hi, for the past 9 days I have had constant shortness of breath. It started with a dry cough, tightness in the chest and shortness of breath but now it's pretty much just the shortness of breath. I also am constantly burping and I feel as if I have a lump stuck in my throat. I have had a chest x-ray, ekg, blood tests and a CT angiogram of my chest done. Everything came out normal.
i realize this is a common and usually harmless issue so i really havent paid any attention to them. but over the last few months i have started experiencing chest pain and shortness of breath when running (something that ive been doing for the last few years with no problem). also, ive woken up in the middle of the night a few times in the past few weeks having shortness of breath which seems to be a bit better when i sit up or prop up with pillows.
