I don't know what you are allowed to take when you are pregnant, pharmaceutical or otherwise... but I'd suggest making sure you eat well, stay hydrated. Maybe run a hot shower for a while then go outside in the cold (like when babies have croup---gives some relief). I've heard oil of oregano or eucalyptus oil, a few drops in boiling water, your head with a towel over it and you inhale, can help with phlegm.

Taking a deep breath isnt really difficult and I dont feel short of breath but I definitely seem to feel discomfort in my chest similar to a chest cold

Hi! I'm 17 years old and a few weeks ago, I started getting this sharp pain under my right breastbone when I would breathe. It's intense and during my bout of pain (usually for about a minute, though it always seems longer) it feels almost impossible for me to take a breath. It only happens from time to time but it's something I figured I shouldn't leave out. This, unfortunately, is only my first symptom as of now.

Mu aunt had something similar happen to her and it turned out to be pneumonia. Definitely make a doctors appointment to get it checked out.

I have had a chest, sinus cold going on four weeks now with intermittent laryngitis. I have been on a course of Levaquin 2 weeks ago and am still sick. Prior to this cold I had another cold and was on a Z pac, can't seem to get any better... Never had a fever, just productive cough raising green phlegm.. Should I be working about my immune system at this point?

You must need go back special doctor for your cold and fever. You xray chest and also do a lung function test to check for asthmatic problems. Best of luck!

I woke up at 4pm shaky, light headed and generally feeling like i have the flu or a cold. My problem is I felt fine other than a productive cough prior to taking the mucinex so is this feeling from the mucinex or am i developing pneumonia? Has anyone who has taken mucinex while pregnant felt this way?? Sorry for the overly long question, thanks in advance for any advice. Oh and of course OB an Primary doc's office are both closed so i can't call until tomorrow.

I have had countless courses of antibiotics and am now on singulair for asthma, i blow yellow stuff from my nose almost every morning and then it all seems to go on my chest, my chest literally aches sometimes especially in the cold air outside, i am at a bit of a loss what to do, my doctor is basically sick of me, or thats the impression i got last time. sometimes my phlegm is yellowy green and sometimes seems white and frothy.

If so you need to take him immediatly very chesty can mean a couple differnt things bronchitis or a chest cold or several other things but just watch his breathing and make sure he gets plenty of fluids so he doesnt get dehydrated

It is an incapacitating pain and even after the sharp pain leaves there is a dull pain that lingers. I thought that this pain was due to a really bad chest cold that I had suffered from but now that I am all cleared up the pain still comes at random times at least once a day.

WHAT SYMPTOMS SHOULD I LOOK FOR that indicate that this cold could turn into VIRAL PNEUMONIA??? since my lungs and immune system are weakenned....

I would use it if you can to make sure you keep your lungs open. I think you are wondering if you have a cold or is this pneumonia? The recent symptoms sound like a cold because of the stuffy head and sinuses . Those symptoms are not like pneumonia. I just want you to be careful about the possibility of relapsing or not being over the pneumonia. Since you were winded on Sunday and sound fatigued. So be careful and if you feel worse see the doctor.

has she had a fever or coughing??? if not then it might just be cold drs will worry if the baby develops a fever or bad cough.

Finally after a week and a half, the sore throat left, but, then a cold never developed. Instead, my chest became congested. I went to the doctor, and she put me on a z-pack. I finished the pack, along with taking albuterol for breathing sessions. I still have a cough, and went to a walk in today, and the doctor thought I might have bronchitis or pneumonia. I usually take prednisone for my breathing difficulties. Will this help with the possible broc/pne? She suggested 5 20mg.

What you describe sounds serious; maybe a “chest cold” or bronchitis or maybe even pneumonia. I had a cold a month or so ago and received antibiotics (bacterial); but I still cough up a little mucous during the day and it seems I am having shortness of breath a little more than usual. I went back to the dr for a chest x-ray and received the above stated results. I have a ct scan scheduled for next week...

YOu could easily have a lung infection of sorts. You need to see a doctor who will examine you properly and order appropriate tests if necessary especially because you are running temps and having colored sputum. Maybe you need antibiotics. I hope you feel better soon.

I used to get a chest cold every three months. This was back when i was having a lot of back pain, and my left leg was giving me trouble - swelling up and not working very well. My question is can i take pantoprazole again even though i just had pneumonia and still having shortness of breath and chest pain? Pls help coz i dont know what really is the cause of my difficulty in breathing is it from having pneumonia or my ulcer.

so far its been a wk in half with this cold or whatever it is . but my main concern is the cough . my cough sometimes sounds dry or sounds like im gargling but nothing comes up . and my nose runs like mad then drys up then goes back to running lol . i am a smoker been smoking on and off since i was 13 yrs old . a few yrs ago i had a real bad upper resp. infection with bronc.

m better, but still not healthy and feel it is getting worse again. Every inbreath I feel a cold tickling in the mid chest area and feel I need to suppress a dry cough. I have no postnasal drip, just a slight pressure on my sinuses and headaches and still feel fatigue and tired all the time. I've been to Costa Rica in August and came back with a nose cold for 1 week, after that was healthy for a couple of days before all these symptoms started. Can it have anything to do with that trip?
