Common Questions and Answers about Chest cold inhaler

chest

Avatar n tn I am a 29 year old who has been having chest tightness for about 3 days with a headache that comes and goes. I went to an urgent care for them to tell me nothing except that my vital signs are healthy, take no xrays, take no blood, etc. They prescribed me an inhaler thinking that it was an allegarine asthma. IT hasn't helped so far. When I work out, it doesn't bother me anymore. I am not short of breath; however, to take a deep breath takes a little more effort.
Avatar f tn Not necessarily. Did you have a recent chest cold with a lot of coughing? Lungs can become inflammed and an inhaler can help relieve the pressure that this inflammation causes.
Avatar f tn I have noticed for the last 5 years I have large amounts of phlegm/ mucus on my chest causing me to cough when I laughed , had to talk loud, came into the warm from the cold etc. All my colleagues and family noticed how I couldn't hold a conversation without coughing and so many people commented on how long I've had a cough. I ran out of my inhaler while away with work and ended up not taking it for about a month. I noticed that my mucous and cough went away.
Avatar n tn I am sixteen years old. I am an asthmatic, although it rarely troubles me and I use my inhaler on a very rare basis. I have been on and off sick with the flu and I'm relatively sure I haven't recovered one hundred percent. However, lately I have begun to feel a significant tightness of my chest - to the point where it's panicking. There is also pain in the left side of my chest and the sensation of pins and needles.
Avatar f tn As of lately, I am on a Brown inhaler and all of a sudden when I take it I get really severe chest pains on my lungs and ribs, (Inflamed lungs) which has been caused by takin my inhaler, I have been to the doctors and she just says it's because it's "opening my airways" I have stopped taking them and the pain has gone, but I have to take them because change of weather makes me breathless. I am struggling on what to do.
Avatar f tn I am in 15 th week I am suffering from cold ,what can I do know any suggestions pls
Avatar n tn So recently I've had a cough, I also have ashtma and have to take a brown inhaler. I'm really paranoid about pneumonia and chest infections. I can't tell what is an ashtma cough, just a general cough from a cold or something worse.
Avatar f tn When i exhale, i get this rumbling sound in my chest. The dr told me to try my inhaler but i told him my chest gets more congested abd i cough more. He said that it is normal for my chest to react that way with the inhaler. I been having this cough for the past week. I havent used my inhaler yet. Do i need to switch to another inhaler? Please need advice please. Thanks.
212161 tn?1599427282 now and than i feel like i cant breath deep and i hear it in there , do not use inhaler unless bad it clears up on its own. so question is , is this asthma or still from cold , i feel the whez in my through and feel musc in there clear it out and feel better but at same time it keeps coming back. inhaler does help when i take it but lots times it clears on its own does asthma do that.
Avatar f tn For about the past week, I have noticed that when I walk a distance, and not that far, just from my car to my desk, etc ( its like half a block) IN THE COLD..that when I get done, my chest BURNS...and I feel slightly short of breath. I have never had this before. Is this angina?? A bit of background..I have anxiety....and have had alot of heart tests over the years because I have palpitations..they are benign...PVCs and PACs..I had a stress test several years ago..
Avatar n tn My husband is on his way home with the codeine, but the mylanta and the inhaler are not helping with the extreme chest pain.
Avatar f tn I have trouble getting a breath and my chest gets tight, especially when im in cold weather or if im in a warm shower it tightens my chest. Doctors said they believe its asthma, but inhalers dont work for me. I am using Dulera and Albuterol. Any other ideas on what this could be?
Avatar f tn I was starting to feel better but today my chest has remained tight all day even with the use of the inhaler and while I am able to breathe it is shallow and I wheeze a little when I try get a full breath. It is really annoying. My doctor has me started on a 2nd round of antibiotics to see if it will help. My husband and I cleaned out the attic last night and I started sneezing all night and woke with this chest tightness, I can't help but wonder if it is related.
Avatar f tn I had one of the oddest Asthma attacks last night. I've had asthma most of my life (35 of my 39 year life) but, I don't remember ever having one that came on so quick before and went away so quick before. I'm wandering if it was caused by a food allergy I didn't know I had as I can't think of anything else that could have triggered it. Basically, I had a bowl of soup (from a tin) and a couple of cheese sandwiches for dinner then sat and watch tv.
Avatar f tn my throat hurts and so does my chest. Im also starting to have stomach isues. but i have no fever. Plus i have been sick for over two weeks and its gotten to the point where i can barely breath. I don't have health insurance, so I need to know what i should do. I will only go to the doctor if it is completely necissary because i really can't afford it.
Avatar f tn I always feel a wheeze in my chest....I have tried prescribed cough syrup antibiotics and an inhaler(for about a week) and nothing has seemed to have helped other than the inhaler helped for around an hour.
Avatar f tn I dnt know why, but as of now im 28 weeks pregnant, and as of right now since mothers day, i been having this whistling in my chest and i have been coughing since last week sunday, with a rumbling sound in my chest wen i inhale and exhale. I havent used my inhaler or nothing else. I still have the cough with the rumbling in my chest. I cough up mucous with it. Someone tell me what is going on...one if my friends said it sounds like a chest cold. Im still smokin also. Please help or some advice.
Avatar m tn so basically my questions are if a mild case of asthma can cause a sticky throat/neck pain (possibly caused due to odd sleeping position) and a slight occasional chest ache. I have only been using the inhaler since yesterday so am i being too quick to judge the affect it is/isn't having on me?
Avatar m tn also, i was getting mild, short fevers and cold sweats a couple of nights along with tightness in the chest and feeling weak and fatigued. i went to the DR, he prescribed me Z-pack (3 days) and told me to get a chest xray if it doesnt go away after about 6 days (he was going on vacation the following week). i also started taking robitussin DM which i should have been doing from the beginning. anyway, the fevers and cold sweats went away but the cough and the lung 'movement' remained.
Avatar f tn No wheezing, no tight chest, no shortness of breath etc its brilliant! But once the cold winter months set in, I find it hard to accomplish the simplest of tasks without having to take my reliever (blue inhaler)!
Avatar f tn Hi, I came down with a cold around January 20, 2014. That week I treated my cold (mild symptoms) with Day-quill and NyQuil. However, before the week was over, I started to experience coughing, wheezing, shortness of breath. I also have asthma, and I’ve had asthmatic bronchitis before, so it started to feel familiar. The following week, I was consistently short of breath. I went to a walk-in clinic after work (January 28).
Avatar f tn Your Symbicort inhaler, I believe is a slow acting, longer lasting drug which is different than an albuterol inhaler which is more of a quick acting, emergency type inhaler, I used the quick acting inhaler but got off of this as soon as possible. I also started to jog to blow my lungs out quicker. You must know your limits with this though. Maybe you start with a brisk walk. Make sure you take your albuterol inhaler with you. Pray for yourself. This just makes good sense.
Avatar f tn I am 22 weeks pregnant and woke up with a VERY hoarse voice and hoarse cough. The cough was pretty bad, made my chest sore. I have been drinking homemade orange juice, had some toast this morning and making soup. I called the nurse advice line amd they advised me to go to ER because I'm having chest 'pain' I do have a slight fever of 100.3 but have not taken any meds (yet) thinking about it though. But 1) I do not want to go.
Avatar n tn jan 3 months later still had, put me on a nother inhaler. this id march now . cold/cough gone but took it 4 months, but now sinus are really bad going for a ct scan thursday. not sure what caused that cold but here in georgia so many people who have never had asthma got it this year was a big write up in news paper about it. i also took 4 rounds of antibiotics nothing really helped it , it had to run its course. wishing ya lots luck with this one .
Avatar f tn At this time I was put on 3 different heavy antibiotics for a total of 5 weeks( told I had a bad respiratory infection) , sent for bloodwork and a heart eeg, sent for allergy testing and sent for a chest and sinus X-rays and given an inhaler to help with the wheezing( I cannot recall which kind it was). The chest X-ray came back clear but the sinus X-rays were "atrocious " which led to a referral for a ct scan.
