Humidifier works really good with cold

I had a really bad cold and cough a few weeks ago. The one home remedy that really helped was 1/2 lime squeezed into a cup, add honey and eat with a spoon. Helped alot!

I've also got one. Do you have a humidifier? We bought one when I got a cold during my first pregnancy and I swear buy it! If you are really sick, your doctor might suggest some medicine. I got pretty sick during my first pregnancy (high fever, ear ache and a flu) and my doctor gave me an antibiotic and an expectorant. Good luck!

So I am full of cold flu whatever this crappie illness is. Are there any over the counter remedies that are safe to use in pregnancy. I am also now worried as I have put Vicks vapour rub all on my chest and back is this safe. I've had hot lemon and honey but it only relieved me when it was drinking it. My throat and chest are so sore and worried about the effect coughing is having on my baby. I've also taken 2 paracetamol .

If I were you I would just use a humidifier in his room until I could check with the pediatrician for your child. Humidifier really helped my lil guy through his first cold.

Ive taken all cold meds, humidifier, vics, everything and nothing helps. I dont wanna waste a trip to doctor either. What do you think is wrong and should i wait it out or go in??

I had a bad cold right when I found out I was pregnant. I was beyond miserable. I used anything humidifier with Vick's vapor inside it. Morning showers really helped along with a mask I slept with that added pressure to my sinuses which relieved some headaches. I couldn't sleep because my throat was so dry and nose so runny I couldn't breathe well. I did use lungs cough drops at night occasionally to help lubricate my throat. I got through it finally.

With younger children, especially if they are in daycare it gets even more confusing because most times one cold will start to clear and they will be exposed to a new cold and develop symptoms quite soon after, which often leads moms to think that they were getting better then got worse, when actually it's a new cold.

I'm 35w and just getting over a nasty sinus cold. My Dr had told me it was safe to take regular Sudafed or Tylenol Cold & flu, to also use warm cloths on my face to relieve pressure and a humidifier. I also made sure to drink plenty of water and orange juice. It took me 2 weeks to get rid of it and I have 2 children to take care of so I was thankful for the relief I got from Sudafed.

Warm water with fresh lemon might help soothe your cough but it probably won't get rid of it.. and a humidifier if you haven't tried that..
