Burning pain in the right chest that would migrate to the left and then to the back. This time it was accompanied with what I think is more sever shortness of breath. I kept going to the gym and it kept happening so much so that I was too scared to do any more exercise.

However, be aware that when you breathe this way, you are taking larger breaths than you're used to. For this reason, it's necessary to breathe more slowly than you're used to. If you breathe at the same rate you use with your small, shallow breaths, you will probably feel a little lightheaded from over breathing, and it might make you yawn. Neither is harmful. They're just signals to slow down. Follow them! 6. Open your mouth. Exhale through your mouth by pulling your belly in. 7. Pause. 8.
It only hurts when I breathe in, yawn, laugh, and bend over. It's a bit hard to talk. I was about to cry from the pain. I've had asthma before. I did notice that the day before this started that my voice sounded a bit off and others could tell. Also, it's mostly in the right side of my throat, not the left. I took some tylenol and that made me not feel the pain. I could breathe more normally. Also, I took a bath and just submerged myself in the hot water and that helped.
Months passed by, and my breathing just seemed to get worse. I ended up getting this cough a while later, then my chest felt like it had something in it all the time and I had to clear it up. I breathed out really hard in attempt to clear whatever was there, and that seems to help a little bit. But not much. Whatever would clog up my breathing would come back. And it would feel like my chest is really tight. I would keep coughing but then it would make my body itch...for some reason.
I remembered a movie where a little girl with asthma was given black coffee to be able to breathe and so I tried that and was able to breathe normally again within 20 minutes. I am 30, light cig smoker though I have not had one in about 2 weeks, and am a pretty heavy medicinal herb smoker. I have recently been rearranging my house and cleaning the newly bare spots of 2 1/2 years of dust and debris and pet hair and have had my dust allergies flare up worse than they have ever been before.
I don't feel any pain in my lungs, and i don't feel any chest pain. It's just really hard to breathe and it's making me feel anxious and scared. I usually get this everyday and every night, and have lost so much weight from not eating right anymore. I weigh around 114 pounds, and am 5'4...and I am 21 years old. I'm a girl. I do have a small cold right now, for the last 2 days...but for some reason I am wheezing like never before and im scared. Any help?? Please...!! Should i go to the doctors?
I all of a sudden jump out of bed and can't breathe. Feels like i'm trying to breathe through a straw with a thickness the size of a toothpick. Now for the strange part, this has happened in the middle of the day sitting at my desk. I'll jump up, and have the same symptom for a minute or so. It's scary. I have had two instances the last 30 days. I am reading that it could be VCD (vocal cord dysfunction). It's not sleep apnea ( I don't believe) because it happens while i'm awake.
I had a cold 2 weeks ago, right after this began to happen. OMG OMG OMG DO I HAVE TO GET SURGERY?? AH! yes.. i am very stressed out, panicing all the time even if i dont seem like it.
It started in my stomach and chest and spread up to my neck and jaw and even ears. It hurt so freaking bad I ran for the cold water and it was instant relief. I don't know how anyone could stand it without the water or I suppose anything cold to drink would work if you drank it fast. I am healthy, exercise regularly and have no medical problems of any kind. This is a mystery, but thank goodness for cold water.
I had what I thought was a cold for a few days stuffy nose sore throat but now my chest is all congested and its kinda hard to breathe sometimes especially after doing something. I've been coughing for three days straight been taking an expectorant but haven't had too much luck yet... I think i'm running a fever not super high though... and I just feel super tired all the time...Any idea of what I can do to feel better?
What I want to know is this, do any of you get chest pain when it's cold? It hurts and my wrist hurts as well. I've gone to urgent because of this just to make sure it isn't my heart and they tell my it's fibro. I don't want to go outside when it's cold. I live in CA. Thank you for answering.
It feels like how it burns when you work out very hard or run along time - that's the closet discription I can come to. I'm afraid if I go to the doctor they will just blow me off since I am young - so should I wait or could this be serious? Thanks.
-( I hope it doesn't hurt the baby.
Lately, I have become very sensitive to A/C. When the cold air blows down my neck and back I begin to get a cold and tingly sensation down by back. It lasts for hours. I have tried Aleve, Advil and Tylenol to no avail. If I get a good nights sleep, I wake up feeling OK. But, if I come in contact with cold air it starts all over again. I too am desperate.
You sound like you got this chest cold/flu thing that's going around right now. (Mono, you usually have a sore throat) I had this flu going around, and I haven't been sick in ten years. There's several posts below that talk all about it. I came here and posted becuz I was going nuts. Anyhow, my husband had it first, and he is a smoker, and he could not catch his breath to save his life, very scary.
(were on a first name basis now since ive been to see him so much in the last year).....isd like to get an opinion to see if its worth it to go back.
I feel like I almost want to keep going with it and start back up, but its a diff story when I start not be able to breathe well (sigh). I worry there are not too many drugs to treat bart if I give up on this one. Also, I read something about starting and abruptly stopping Rifampin and then re-starting isnt good AT ALL for the kidneys? Does anyone know more about this? I have read info on many forums but you guys seem to be the most knowledgable from my personal opinion!!
Notice in the morning after laying down and when I swallow I feel pain. I had a cold/flu approx. 6 weeks ago and was able to function after about 2 days. However, I have had a persistent cough that never seem to go away. Its not all the time once I am up in the morning it eleveates for the most part but annoying. I have recently started on ibuprophen and it helps a little. I do not feel like I have congestion. I can breathe freely but notice a little mucous in throat.
Hiya, I've had this damn chest cold for ages now. The worse thing about it is that it seems to go then comes back after a few days of feeling better. I've had a chest X-ray which just said that I was congested. I've had everything from antibiotics to over the counter remedies but I havn't been able to really shift it. At the moment I have the 'chills' with it and now the sinus's are bad.
throat mucous that lays in throat feels like a brick on upper chest area, hard to get a deep breath. Went to ENT and he said allergies, gave me Astelin, neosonephrine and sinus irrigator. I have had this trouble off and on for over a year. All kinds of tests and everything comes back normal. Any suggestions, comments?
Last friday my chest pain got so bad that someone was putting pressure in the middle of my chesk. I felt tightness that it was hard to breathe. I had sholder pain that went down my left arm along with numbness. I saw my doctor. She did an EKG and sent me to the ER to get further evaluated. ER sent me home 4 hours latter and told me my labs where normal. 3 days latter I got the same pains just worse. This time the left side of my face went numb.
I am 35 and have chest pain, arm and leg pains. I am back and forth to the ER and family practice only to hear I have anxiety and acid reflux. I often get knots in my right chest and then heavy feelings of pressure and tightness. I have a hard time swallowing at times as well.
In his opinion, you are too old to have that kind of fun. So he kind of sits on your chest and makes it difficult for you to breathe. Now you don't want to go off and play with other people when you can't breathe, do you? Your friend does not believe in being healthy. He is really repulsed by the thought of you living a long and productive life. So every chance he gets he makes you sick. He helps you catch colds and flu.
wednesday, i started to get a chest pain, only on the upper right side of my chest, it hurts to breathe in deeply, and also move around...my back on the right side is also sore, im not sure if it's muscle or ribs, or something else.....do u know what it could be? anything serious? i dont have a history of heart problems, or respiratory problems, im in pretty good shape...im just concerned its something other than soreness...
Thank you for taking the time to listen to me. I guess the hard part for me is that I haven't had enough time to adjust to what has happened. Until last August I never had any health problems (other than wisdom teeth) in my life. All of a sudden this happened and it is very scary every time I feel something unusual I think the worst is happening. The xanax helps me a lot with that.
I've never had allergies b4 but i'm so congested I can't breathe at all :/ My chest feels heavy I blow my nose and nothing comes out but as soon as I try to lay down its runny. I've tried Benadryl, saline drops and steam nothing is working anyone else? Anything that's helping u?
Same for my lungs, I havent coughed up blood or anything black, its only ranged from clear white saliva to slightly dark yellow/green phlegm (As would be present in cold/chest infection), but Ive noticed enough difference in myself overall to know I have an issue that needs dealing with. Hopefully someone can help provide some further insight in solving this issue?
It is amazing how much you will read and listen to when it comes to chest pain. I will be going back to see my cardiologist in hopes that he will be able to shed some light on my problem.
