I have had a chest, sinus cold going on four weeks now with intermittent laryngitis. I have been on a course of Levaquin 2 weeks ago and am still sick. Prior to this cold I had another cold and was on a Z pac, can't seem to get any better... Never had a fever, just productive cough raising green phlegm.. Should I be working about my immune system at this point?

Green phlegm is usually a virus. With the flu, there is usually more body ache and a fever up to 102 degrees F. Colds often have more runny nose and sneezing. There can be a little body ache, but it's not so much you desperately want to stay in bed or return there if you forced yourself to get up. Symptoms of my cold were runny nose, cough and congestion. Every morning I would spit out green phlegm and afterwards it would be clear. So on 03/16 everything cleared out, no longer had any cold symptoms; although I was left with a cough, somewhat tight chest and short breath. There's no mucus, it's a dry cough and any mucus I spit out or blow out is clear. Is it acute bronchitis or should I visit the doctor?

Im thinking if I should go to the hospital because just the feeling of my chest and when I cough I cant breathe cause its so congested with mucus. When I spit up its green? Im not too sure if its that bad or not. What do you guys think?

They are who provides your medical care and can decide if you need to see a doctor. Mostly you just sound like you have a cold/cough with phlegm. Not something to sorry about.

m experiencing some kind if cold which just started affecting my chest yesterday and today has me coughing up dark green phlegm... Any advice ladies?

i am having pain in my upper back on my right side when i breathe i have antibotics twice and a chest xray that came back clear i am also fetching green flem up.

m not sure what to think. The brown/green phlegm was a thick texture and tube shaped before I touched it There is also the foamy phlegm that is clear and a yellow in color that also has a brown(softer) mucus and a dark green chunky mucus as well.

I have had countless courses of antibiotics and am now on singulair for asthma, i blow yellow stuff from my nose almost every morning and then it all seems to go on my chest, my chest literally aches sometimes especially in the cold air outside, i am at a bit of a loss what to do, my doctor is basically sick of me, or thats the impression i got last time. sometimes my phlegm is yellowy green and sometimes seems white and frothy.

Within two days both of those were replaced with chest congestion, tightness, and a wet cough producing green phlegm. Now its been about 5 days of wheezing and this cough i can feel the congestion deep down in my lungs. When i breathe i can feel the phlegm and mucus and i wheeze when i exhale. The spitting up of Phlegm is part of the healing process its normally yellow or green,,it is often associated with a wet' chest cough .Keep the air in the house moist with a humidifier, turn on a hot steamy shower for her to breathe in if you do not have a humidifier.Give her plenty of drinks ,apple juice and water are good,offer popsicles to help loosen phlegm .Children do get 6-8 coughs colds and other respiratory infections a year. Also I have a frequent need to clear my throat and I cough up phlegm which is often green. I have thought it was associated with a cold but it has been there now for months or even years and I do not think I have a cold. Or is it possible to have cold symptoms which linger for months?
