Avatar f tn It just seems laying down at night makes it worse. Have you gotten a cold since this started? Colds also make asthma worse, when my son has a cold we have to do breathing treatments every 4 hours. Both my kids have asthma they are 7 and 11 years old. My husband also has it. Go talk to your dr and she what he/she says that way you can get whatever it is treated and get on with your life and not have to worry about it.
1953268 tn?1454815040 ve described here, and insist on having a chest exam. Green mucus can be a sign of infection. Chest pain should never be ignored, and should definitely be looked at by a physician in order to rule out any thing serious. Years ago, I had symptoms much like yours, but I chose to skip the doctors visit and stay home. It turned out that I had bronchitis, then developed pneumonia.

Avatar f tn I never use it more than once or twice a week, and never on a regular basis. I think it works in the cold because it relaxes your chest.

Avatar f tn Some people will have heat or cold air induced asthma, some people can have asthma after being in a home with pet dander or new carpet or new wood florring, the chemicals in these products can cause asthma to start flaring up. Some people have exercise induced asthma also. Asthma is the restriction of your airway, and that is why you hear a wheeze, it is like air whistling thru a closed window. Your inhaler should help relieve this.
Avatar n tn with chest infections the coughing gets worse when you lay down, go in and out of the cold, is wheesy, sometimes with mucus, and it is quite a bad chest infection when is starts getting crackly. also coughing can be so frequent, hard or violent it can cause bad headaches. you really need to see a doctor. the longer you leave it the worse it will get. if you leave it too long you will struggle to breath. especially with asthma, chest infections when left can be dangerous.
Avatar n tn I'm suffering from the same experience, except I do have allergic asthma. I caught a cold which developed into bronchitis in November and the coughing didn't stop for three months. I think I've had bronchitis maybe once before in my life. After four courses of antibiotics, the sinus inflammation still hasn't subsided. Almost everyone I know this year has caught a cold with cough that lasted a month.
Avatar m tn I am 22 and was 19 when I was diagnosed with asthma. I had all of these symptoms, except for the cold feeling in my throat. I went to the ER and my oxygen saturation was also within the normal range. The ER doctor put me on a nebulizer and I felt better afterwards. She also suggested that I may have atypical asthma, meaning that I don't present with the normal symptoms. She referred me to a pulmonologist and lo and behold, I have moderate asthma!
Avatar f tn No wheezing, no tight chest, no shortness of breath etc its brilliant! But once the cold winter months set in, I find it hard to accomplish the simplest of tasks without having to take my reliever (blue inhaler)!
Avatar m tn I'm 19 and i run a lot (5+ times a week). I have been diagnosed with arrhythmia and i also have a third heart sound. I'm asthmatic and i get a lot of pain in my chest when i run in the cold no matter how much asthma medication i take before hand or what preventatives i'm on. Are these symptoms related at all and are they concerning? Is there anything i can do for the pain? also my average heart rate when i run is between 180-195bpm and this is how its always been.
942934 tn?1268108382 m hoping it will improve yet after this last exacerbation, which started about 6 weeks ago, as mentioned earlier. I also have exercise induced asthma. Running in cold air really is a bad mixture for me. Does anyone else have asthma like this? The lack of wheezing but tons of mucous production, particularly when the lung function drops.
Avatar f tn I'm a 22 year old female with asthma, I’ve had it since i was 2 years of age. Recently I’ve been getting pain in my chest, it's not like the normal asthma pains and it's been worrying me for a little wile. The pain is like a sharp stab in the middle or sometimes to the left of my chest but it's constantly there, it has affected my back when my shoulder blades are too, on other occasions it dose restrict my breathing a little but not enough to call it an emergency.
Avatar f tn Hi ChitChatNine, Thanks for the advice. I'm totally fine now. But, in all them years I've had asthma I've never had anything like that before. I did have a cold come on the following day after my asthma attack so maybe this was the trigger. I've stocked up on a new inhaler.
Avatar n tn I have recently starting having what I suspect is cold-induced asthma. At other times I also seem to have a dry cough, feel irritated in my trachea, have a raspy voice and have to clear my throat a lot. I don't notice any wheezing although I do think my deep breathing sounds different, more congested, hard to explain. My irregular heartbeats have been fairly well controlled althoug recently I've had terrible bouts that wake me during the night.
Avatar f tn i have been taking childrens mucinex, works better in my book then the adult one and taste better to. and i also been doing nebulizer treatments twice a day.
Avatar f tn I dont get your normal symptoms like weezing and coughing. I get a feeling like I have a bad chest cold or sometimes I have head pressure like someone is squeezing my head. does this sound like asthma to you? has anyone else had these symptoms before?

Avatar f tn HEPPA filters can be installed at home to take care of the allergens. Please consult an asthma specialist or any chest specialist and a change in prescription medications may help. Also pulmonary function tests should be done to assess the degree of obstruction and this will help in dose adjustment. Hope this helps. Take care!
