Avatar f tn Several factors are usually considered to cause acne such as diet, stress, genetic, dirt hormonal imbalances, cosmetics, work-related and drugs. Treatment options include topical and oral antibiotics, topical retinoids, hormonal therapy, dermabrasion , phototherapy and laser resurfacing. Normally a combination of treatments is followed and if nothing proves effective then dermabrasion and laser therapy are useful. You can discuss these treatment options with your dermatologist.
Avatar f tn Lastly it can be due to hormonal influence and overproduction of sebum by the sebaceous glands. Skin on the face, chest, and back has an especially large number of sebaceous glands. These are the areas where acne occurs. Diet is not a cause of acne but can be a contributing factor. So avoid taking any excess fatty diet and consult a dermatologist for the topical treatment of acne. Hope it helps. Take care and please do keep me posted on how you are doing or if you have any additional queries.
Avatar f tn With my first I had acne so bad nothing worked not even proactive its hormonal there's really nothing that you can do. After my daughter was born it cleared right up and my huge swollen nose went away too. Best of luck and congrats!!!
Avatar n tn I have this too. It got worst during pregnancy. I've never had it in mt chest now its all over my chest is so ugly smh. I just use a facial scrub. But I doesn't really work. I was told that it would go back to normal after baby is born.

Avatar f tn s purely hormonal I tried to use remedies that would usually cure my menstrual acne and it just makes everything worse
Avatar f tn I had some terrible breakouts this preg so I bought oxy and used it for part of first trimester--about 2-3 x wk. It really helped--once clear & I switched back to my regular cleanser--cetaphil. Now I'm using 3 step Clinique which I received as a gift for Christmas. So far so good! Using it on my face, neck, & chest because my neck & chest broke out horribly towards the end of my first preg.
Avatar n tn Significance Red bumps on your cheeks may signal acne, sometimes referred to as pimples or zits, and can result in scarring if left untreated. Acne also forms on the neck, chest, shoulders or back -- the areas of your body with the most oil glands. Acne bumps often heal slowly and new bumps typically appear as the older ones vanish, according to MayoClinic.com.
Avatar f tn (make sure its olive not veg oil) i keep it in a little tupperware container in my shower and scrub my whole body with it. Its helped immensely with my hormonal acne lol the sugar scrubs the dead skin away and the lemon refines your pores and tones your skin, and the olive oil keeps your skin soft. You can even substitute with brown sugar for a finer scrub, or lime or fresh squeezed orange juice. Like i said its worked wonders for this pregnancy acne! Give it a try! Its practically free!
Avatar n tn I am 25 (F) with a lot of acne problem on my face. i even did my hormonal test which hv shown normal results. i have tried everything else but nothing has help. i m getting married in 4 months. should i still consider hormonal treatment or go on accutane?
Avatar n tn They are skin colored, soft, round and sometimes I feel heat from the inside of them. They are slightly raised. I am wondering if they may be cholesterol or hormonal related?
Avatar f tn I am 16 weeks and have been having the worst acne all over my face and chest. It is becoming a problem. My face is very greasy I have to wash it 5 times a day. Even that isnt enough. I hate using the grease fighting acne face scrubs because of all the chemicals. Is there a better solution to this? Maybe a natural scrub/cream?! Also does it get any better or worse the more pregnant I get?
Avatar m tn Hi i am a 26 yr old male. i have a moderately itchy scalp that gets oily by the end of the day & have occasional acne on the scalp. also i have significant hair loss due to it.Recently, i have noticed more frequent occurrence of acne on my face & rarely on my chest & back. i wash my hair everyday with a mild shampoo to remove the oiliness. it just doesn't seem to help. i somehow feel the itchy scalp, acne & facial acne are related.
Avatar f tn Anyways, I went to my doctor multiple times in a desperate attempt to find a pill or medication that could clear my acne, and was even considering Accutane during that bout of acne last year (doc said no because I was on antidepressants at the time). I've tried everything from clindamycin to minocyclin to tretinoin to bactrim (which gave me a rash and high fever, turns out I'm allergic to it) to birth control pills... to no avail.
Avatar f tn So, I had to fill out a questionaire with a million questions before I see an RE at the end of the month. One of the questions was about acne, and whether I have it or not. What does having acne mean? (I've heard getting acne can be a sign of something, I just can't remember what) Lately, I've been having so many breakouts, and today noticed I had some back acne. Gross! I never had acne before.
Avatar n tn I literally have hair growing everywhere. It is very embarrassing to discuss. Not to mention I have acne on my face, back, chest, butt and legs. I went to the doctor in April and had a papsmear done as well as blood work - complete blood count and testosterone levels - everything came back perfect until my doc. performed a transvaginal ultrasound and found a cyst on my right ovary the size of an egg.
Avatar f tn m allergic to those metals or not. Hormonal forms of birth control are not ideal for me, so this is the best form of non-hormonal birth control I could use. Let's say this was an allergic reaction to the IUD, is there any way to cure the dermatitis without removing the IUD? I am desperate to make this work as this is the only form of birth control that works for me.
Avatar n tn hi ladies! I'm a ftm and I'm 8 weeks.. I'm suffering with pimples all over my body! Chest, back, shoulders and butt, even a couple on my elbow and hips... Gosh it's embarrassing ... Does anyone know how to deal with them?
Avatar f tn If the areas are on your face, chest or back it is possible they are white heads. This is a form of acne that are believed to form as a result of hormonal changes which causes an increase in skin oil. The dead skin, oil, and bacterial become trapped in the pores under the skin. They can occur anywhere but generally are seen on the above mentioned areas.
Avatar m tn Are you watching your diet-getting lots of water, fruit, veggies? Have you tried different facial cleaners/soaps?
Avatar f tn Then I forgot about it. Now at 28, I developed two stomach wrinkles, persistent acne on the chest and stomach, and slow healing wounds. I also developed stretch marks on the back of my thighs from sitting for long periods of time. I was wondering what people think I have. I am slightly overweight (15 lbs). People aren't supposed to get neck wrinkles and stomach wrinkles in their twenties for christ's sake. I haven't been in a pool for 4.5 years and I used to live to go to the pool!
