Avatar n tn In front of a mirror; take a sip of water in your mouth, tilt your head back and look in the mirror as you swallow. This should make any lumps more visible. Ask your doc about having an ultrasound done to chek for any possible growths/abnormalities. My thyroid tests were normal, nothing was found until an ultrasound was done which exposed a 3cm partially cystic and partially solid nodule. It ended up I had to have the right side of mythyroid removed.
Avatar f tn loonette: for me, I figured out the size and dimensions of my nodule through ultrasound. If you go to your family doctor, I'm pretty sure they will tell you where you can get an ultrasound done (I got mine done at the hospital). hope that helps! 898: thanks for sharing your story! yes, research on your own I'd say helps give an overall idea of our situation..
Avatar m tn I had ultrasound done today and the lasy performing it said my thyroid was enlarged and it had many lumps and bumps and that if she had to measure each one it would take three days lol. She didnt see any extremely large lumps. So now Im sitting here stressing about results. Anyone else had someone say they had many lumps and bumps on each side?????
Avatar f tn I was diagnosed with rheumatoid arthritis, I have been getting steroid shots every 8 wks for the past 9 months. I started on Plaquinal 400mg daily, 8 weeks ago. I now started having lumps and bumps on my foot. Any ideas why these just showed up?
Avatar f tn Oatmeal baths help too. As for the lumps, I'd take her to the doc and make sure she doesn't have an ear infection.
Avatar n tn t go down so much as divided into two lumps and has pretty much stayed that way for a week. The lumps are soft and do not move. They're about quarter sized. Othropedic doc wants to wait a month and see what happens. I'm wondering: (1) What does it mean to have an elarged thyroid, low TSH and normal T4? and (2) Would the lumps have anything to do with the thyroid at this point?
Avatar f tn Well there are three separate issues with the thyroid. Hormones, Goiter and Lumps. Auto-immune thyroid disease can results in low (or high) thyroid hormones and cause the thyroid to enlarge. Auto-immune disease (Hashimoto's or Graves) is diagnosed via blood tests, TSH (thyroid stimulating hormone), T4/T3 (Actual thyroid hormones), and thyroid antibodies. If you haven't had these done, you should have them done. Your ENT didn't find any lumps but thinks your thyroid is large.
464412 tn?1213225852 I went in for post op yesterday for my lobectomy and my surgeon told me "there were no frank signs of cancer but there were several areas where pre-cancerous cells were present" She did not have the pathology report with her for me to look at (weird?) so I'm not sure exactly what pre-cancerous cells were found.
Avatar n tn One is about 1/2 way down my neck the other is just about 1/2 inch below that close to my colar bone felt more when i extend my neck back. At times the lumps feel larger and sometimes smaller. I also had a cough that is going away for about 2 weeks now which produced clear sputum at times. I also had my thyroid removed about 2 years ago. The lumps are both movable and not painful. Can this be some sort of cancer. Did anyone ever experience anything like this?
Avatar m tn My lymph nodes in my neck are normal i have no lumps or anything i have no other symptoms. But i do have some bump looking things on the back of my throat. so if you may know what is wrong please let me know.
Avatar f tn I have GAD and OCD, so not sure if this is health anxiety or I am right to be so worried. I can't think about anything else.
503418 tn?1231098736 Hello, Two possibilities are there for such lumps. It can be a thyroid cyst or a swollen lymph node. A thyroid cyst is a fluid-filled sac located in the thyroid gland. Cysts may be small (< 1cm) or large and they may develop slowly or appear suddenly. Treatment of thyroid cyst involves fine needle aspiration of the fluid. The aspirated fluid is then sent for histopathological examination to look out for any malignancy. In svere cases surgery may be required.
Avatar n tn I first noticed it as a couple of small lumps in my groin. It began to spread and become larger red lumps. My dermatologist did a biopsy of one of the sites which confirmed this diagnosis. He prescribed Dexometasone cream twice daily which has done absolutely no good. The condition has spread all over the back and sided of both legs, from the knees up, down my sides, and on my back. When I sit my legs burn like fire. I have absolutely no energy.
Avatar n tn Hello, I am asking or rather begging for your help! I have lumps that started as one in my breast and I now have more including in my chest and neck and recently in my legs. I had CT scans show masses on my liver and kidney but was never told. I decided to get another doctor due to become progressively ill with no help, found that according to my med record I have had abnormal blood work, masses found on scans and high levels of protein in urine and blood.

Avatar f tn There may be a link between thyroid lumps and breast lumps, but more research is needed -- so at this point would consider these two separate issues. Inhaler use would not influence thyroid nodules/cysts.
Avatar f tn The thyroid scan is used to determine the size, shape and position of the thyroid gland. The thyroid uptake is performed to evaluate the function of the gland. A whole-body thyroid scan is typically performed on people who have had thyroid cancer.
Avatar f tn Ive been checking for response ever since i post the comment. Thank you so much for your response. We have seen our family doctor and he confirmed what you said. The two lumps that were removed are benign. And I've advised her to change her diet. You know; no more junks and all. Vegetables and fruits. And I pray it doesn't come back. Cuz it bothers me a lot. So I'm really monitoring her. Thank you so much. I appreciate your response.

Avatar f tn Secondary hypo is when your pituitary is not producing enough TSH to stimulate your thyroid to produce T3 and T4, the two primary thyroid hormones. So, technically, your thyroid should be capable of producing thyroid hormones, but your pituitary is not stimulating it to do so. However, the result is that you are hypothyroid since your T3 and T4 levels are inadequate. I hope that's not too confusing. It is not Hashi's, although you might also have Hashi's...once again...
Avatar n tn I had unprotected sex about a month ago and now i have a 2 very hard lumps under the skin and on the under side of my penis. They popped up over night and have not seem to do anything this last week. They only bother me because i keep checking them, and i dont have any other symptoms. Everything else is completely normal. what could this be ?? thanks.
486512 tn?1208777187 t know about the lumps, but I can honestly say I am positive for ANA, negative for Rheumatoid Facotr. I have lots of pain in my joints and now many muscle spasms, for which I take Celebrex and Methocarbomal. they help a lot, but the pain pills (Darvocette) work for the rest of the pain. Has you doc decided whether or not you have Lupus? I have Lupus (SLE) and Sjogren's Syndrome. I don't have a clue about your lumps.
