This same bad reaction happens all the time to people that take antidepressant meds when they don't really have a true mental depression of the brain. I don't have high blood pressure, but if I took high bllod pressure medication then because I don't have high blood pressure the results could be deadly. Psycotropic medications are no different. They are designed to treat specific types of mental illness ONLY. Chantix is nothing more than another Psycotropic medication.
The nurse originally stated that we should keep an eye on his blood pressure and have the echo repeated in a year. We got a call back stating that the my husband also had mild left ventricular hypertrophy. We were told that he doesnt necessarily need to see a cardiologist but that he should come back in to talk to the doctor about possibly going on a low dose medication. I dont have the echocardiogram report in hand (yet).
my doctor has me on a new medicine, its call; Chantix (varenicline) tablets.
Also got extemely hungry at the same time. Not sure if it is the glucose level (167) or if my blood pressure is high. I need to get my blood pressure monitor back from the person I lent it to. I am also under quite a bit of stress right now in regards to my grandson. And I feel like I am the only one who is there for him right now. Topnight I am pretty down.
He sweats a lot has chest pain a lot and yet when taken to the emergency the blood test showed he was not having a heart attack and blood pressure was only a little high. He is a diabetic, with shortness of breath trying to quit smoking with chantix. Is he a candidate for bypass or not and will that also stop up as well?

do you feel like you are dying? Your blood pressure can get too high, causing a stroke and/or death. it is rare that people die from an opiate detox, but I guess it can happen.
Smoking causes heart disease so it would make sense that when you smoke, your blood pressure rises. I'm happy you decided to quit and we will be here for you when you need support. You might want to prepare yourself by reading the articles on whyquitdot(.)com. I think there is an answer for any question you may have. Cutting back insn't the answer and will only keep you going back for more. You really need to quit for good, forever to benefit. Good luck to you!
diabetes, high blood pressure, high cholesterol, smoking needs to stop if you smoke, you need to watch you weight and not be obese or very heavy, you need to exercise, eat a good diet, etc. Anything that causes heart attacks increases the risk of NAION> Talk to you MD about taking low dose aspirin.
(i made the right decisin on that one) but i have had these problems since then, not to mention high blood pressure and a number of other things. for a long time i blamed my self for letting both of my grandparents' deaths because i didn't convince them of how bad it was even though i done it my self. Now i know that it wasn't my fault, but hopefully my mom can see how bad it really is and atleast slack down to less than 3 packs a day or quit all together.
I was put on Cymbalta-30 mgs-okay until dr upped to 60 mgs-(on top of 400 mgs lamictal & 4 mgs ativa) I broke out in terrible rash all over face &neck--finally ended up in hospital in 5/08-they took me off cymbalta, ativan & lamictal for 2 days;added depakote &klonopin; released from hospital;after 3 days my feet swelled up; had to come off depakote 2nd time this had happened); have been having trouble ever since dr put me on lithium in 3/07 while being treated with diuretic for
I'm also finding it hard to figure out how to take my thyroid, iron, multi vitamin, blood pressure, H20 and cholesteral pills, plus chantix in the correct manner.??? Can you take Chantix with levothyrozine? Thanks for any comments in advance. I am very ignorant when it comes to thyroid issues.
You have been treated for HBP for a couple years. When you went to the dr for an infection your blood pressure was high. Bear in mind that most of us have a higher BP at the doctor. (White coat syndrome) Because it seemed high you paniced and it got higher. You have determined that any activity will casue you to die by rocketing your BP. So now, to try to make it lower you plan on being sedentary so nothing will affect it? Do you have any other health issues. Do you smoke?
5cm I don't understand how this happened? I do not have high blood pressure and have not had rheumatic fever (the only things I seem to find about causes). I am in generally good health, but I am Vitamin B12 deficient and self-inject 1000mcg IM once a month. I do take birth control pills. I was a smoker but quit just over 7 weeks ago. I took Chantix for 5 weeks. With everything being trace and mild, is surgery generally the only option or is monitoring the best option?
Wall motion revealed hypokenetic apex and dyskinetic septum, evidence of mydocardial ischemia involving the anterpostal and apical segments. EF 50-55%. Chest x-ray clear but the Doc told me I have Trace Pulmonary Edemea. High Blood pressure that we have struggled to control for about 5 years. Heart Cath~ 60% Stenosis of mid right coronary artery, essentially normal left main left anterior desending, intermediate and left cicumflex.
(I know the one about the severe depression and PTSD probably is correct - but if I look at the test it looks like everything is wrong with me and nothing is right with me - and it seems so overwhelming it's like can I ever get well - I was placed on Lamictal, Cymbalta and Klonopin - however my doctor upped the lamictal to 400 mgs and the cymbalta to 60 mgs and I had a very severe reaction to it (this was after having been rushed to the hospital in the intensive cardiac care unit because the d
Feels like I have food that won't go down and have had one incident were I felt my heart racing, which is not the norm for me as my blood pressure runs about 86/50 with a 60-65 pulse. Hopefully it will work out and they will agree on something. I appreciate the support and quick responses. I am off to excercise even though it tends to not take any weight off anyway. At least it keeps me in the ritual of it. Thanks again!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
I have chewed NRT gum for 11 years (only smoked for 10) and probably chewed up to 40 bits of 2mg gum a day! After been given a slightly high blood pressure at a medical I started looking to see what possible side effects there is to long tem nicotine use – high blood pressure was one. I had always thought the gum was safe, no obvious bad side effects listed. I probably stayed chewing gum as it’s a lot more socially acceptable than smoking plus you can chew gum anywhere.
Your lungs are expelling the residue that has built up over time. The nose bleeds may be related to blood pressure, inflammation in the nose, an upper respiratory infection or to spasms of coughing. The aching and low grade fever are probably not related and may be related to an infection which is aggravating all of the other things you have described. Quitting smoking was a wonderful and positive decision. Be proud that you have done this and you WILL get over these symptoms.
I have even developed high blood pressure since the diagnosis of COPD. Another health issue, but honestly I am doing pretty good considering. Frankly, I think attitude plays an important role in any disease. I did not always have a good attitude about having COPD. I admit that. But, I am learning that a good attitude helps in so many ways. I am a 20 yr. cancer survivor. Then, 2 yrs. ago I got handed another disease diagnosis of COPD. I was depressed, angry and in denial when told I had COPD.
I am taking high blood pressure meds two months now but blood pressure had been high for way over a year I was to stubborn to go on meds stupid as I could have had a stroke or bleed in my brain, and Chantix to stop smoking, started taking one week ago. I am only taking one pain pill now at bedtime. So I am trying to figure out why the heartburn.. Any ideas? PS.. No change in diet either.
but I have had these issues for years just thinking it was because I am getting older that I was tired, dry skin, high blood pressure, joint and muscle pain. I am 41 female.
I have not had a tilt table test, but have had orthostatic vitals taken (I know they're not the same) and had blood pressure that is normal (almost always around 120/70, the highest it had been was 135/82 because I was in a lot of pain). My heart only feels like it's going to pound out of my chest, but my blood pressure, and heart rate do not increase, it only feels like my blood pressure is raised. My heart rate is usually between 80 and 69 bmp.
I have had this fatigue since I became pregnant and thereafter (going on 9 years now) and other maladies-- migraines (use Relpax), dysmenorrhea, fibroids/cysts, high blood pressure, recently--diabetic. I am 37 yrs. old. My Dr. has prescribed nearly all the anitdepressants out there. I had bad side-effects with each, jaw tightening, teeth grinding, more headaches, insomnia, more anxiety, more tense and agitated (which is not like me)-- Prozac did help the monthly period oddly enough!
), some blood tests - I'm not excatly sure what but I'll find out in next appointment on the 19th this month though, and EKG for my heart (due to high blood pressure) and stuff. So next appt is Nov. 19th to see my dr again to get the results, etc.. I'll keep ya'll updated! :-) Dr told me not to drink or eat anything for 10 hours before going to the hospital to get those stuff done. UGH! But I'll live.
I can tell you that my blood pressure has risen, and I have a low white blood cell count because of the gum. I get sick all the time due to this. If I over chew it I’ll get a sore throat and eventually a sinus infection. My doctor always asked me ..”do you smoke?” I tell him no…he doesn’t know I use any tobacco products. He says “ you get bronchitis s a lot”. Bottom line the gum is no good for you…It will have long term effects.
the other my annual VA check up) in both cases it was nice to have a normal blood pressure and a normal pulse rate. I'm about 10lbs more than I'd like to be...well..ok 15-20 actually...but probably only a few of those are from not smoking...the other's are from sitting around all winter waiting for the sunshine. Got to get cracking on that. not sure how much of this is due to medication or not...but i feel terrific. I mean...really good. No urges,....no anxiety or stress.
