chantix and stomach problems

I will pay the $215 on monday for my shipment then I am waiting the 2 weeks suggested and beginning. Here is my question. I am also on chantix.. the stop smoking drug. I really need to stop because I think 27 years is long enough to smoke for anyone. Does anyone know if it will have any kind of reaction? My doc told me to go ahead it wouldnt hurt me.

Hello everyone,I have a progressive case of hepatitis C and want to use the drug Chantix to quit smoking and worried about the side affects.Does anyone have any knowledge of this drug interaction.

all drugs have tons of side effects and listed and unproven problems. I know chantix has some, stomach, depression effectsbut never heard of the heart palpatations or the other stuff. I have been taking it for over a year with just about no problems. I only take a few a week and it has been a big help to me.

I would stop using the Chantix immediately. If you want to quit, you will continue not smoking. Chantix doesn't always agree with those using it and it sounds as if you are one of those. I quit with Chantix too, but I did not have any side effects. I do know, through commercials, that there is a class action suit or they are attempting to put one together so I'm sure there is good reason for it! Stop immediately and call your doctor or go into the emergency room of your hospital.

So many people have identified side effects and seem to know when anything is amiss with their bodies, and I barely noticed anything...a little upset stomach and maybe a bad dream or two. Many have had various problems but I'm not sure if I have heard of your complaint before. Have you read up on their website? Try a google search of "Chantix and swollen breasts" and see what comes up. You really should let your doctor know anything out of the ordinary.

Hi, I'm taking chantix along with other meds, sertraline, is another anti depressant in the same category with no problems. I think (but dont quote me) that it is the MAOI's and Trycilyic anti d's that chantix is not recommended.

Certainly it's better if you cut down on the cigarettes. Ask your OB or RE to prescribe Chantix for you. I hear it's ok to take during pregnancy and it really helps with trying to quit smoking. Know you're not a lone if you can't quit, many women aren't able to completely quick during pregnancy and the baby turns out okay. I'm not endorsing it of course, just letting you know that you're not the only that's pregnant and could just cut back.

Sorry to hear that you had to quit the chantix. I guess I was one of the lucky ones! There are no quick fixes and even though chantix made it easier, there were still withdrawals and cravings. If you have had success using the patch then you really should try that again, read whyquit.com and post to the board when you are feeling vulnerable. Good luck!

I used Chantix and didn't have any complications. I have never heard of headaches related to Chantix and I just googled "chantix and headaches" which brought up several articles but there was nothing that links the two (mentions of Chantix and headache on the same page). Just wondering Terry where you heard/read it? My husband suffered from cluster headaches and they were nothing like the ones you describe. His were so intense and lasted sometimes for hours.

It huts my stomach to yake a deep breath and I have pain and renderness in my right side and my stomach feels sore to touch and hard. My clothes do not fit and I have to unbutton my pants and skirt because I cannotr breath from the tightness. I have not distinguished that any particular food hurts me and I have the same symptoms if I only eat a few bites. Please help me with any info you might have. Also, I went back to my G. doctor and he prescribed Protonix. Helped a bit for awhile.

So your on both suboxone and chantix? Do you feel wierd or anything? Ive heard things about chantix like it causes nightmares and suicidle thoughts. Im kind of scared. Do you really feel good? How long have you been on suboxone?

I took Chantix for 2 weeks and that was enough to stop. The sickness particularly inthe morning and breast soreness was like pregnancy all over again only much worse. I have stopped taking them 9 days ago and am now smoke-free 14 days. The thoughts of having to turn to Chantix again to a barrier that encourages me to keep strong and fight any cravings.

DON"T DO CHANTIX. My son, 19, took chantix for 3 months and the research was not done on young people. He did quit smoking but at a great risk to his health. It has been 10 months of hell since he went off the med. While on the med he has mild side effects but after many blood tests, a positive ANA and anxiety/panic attacks - he is slowly getting healthy again. We did not do our homework and the result was a very sick young man.

I used Chantix and had absolutely no extreme effects. A bit of upset stomach was the worst of it. I took it for a month and a half and have been quit for 1 year and 1 month! There are times when I still feel and urge, especially when stressed, but it goes away in mere seconds and it doesn't happen often : ) I hope you feel better with each day and thanks for offering your help.

time and the amount of time that has elapsed since your use of Chantix. It has been almost 3 1/2 months for me and I am still getting urges and am still quick tempered, just not as often as before : ) I think we will always struggle, quitting is life altering especially if you have smoked for a long time (38 yrs. for me.) I know it will get easier and the cravings will only happen every once in a while and sometimes temper and irritability isn't about addiction but something else.

I know i must quit smoking and for the last 2 weeks iv only smoked about half as much as i use to but i want to put them down for good so my health will get better because i want to live i have to much to live for and both my parents died from smoking related causes so i know what will happen to me if i dont get serious and quit.Im going to look into the patch and chantix tomorrow and thanks again.I hope im making sense but iv had so little sleep im allmost a zombie today.

I have a question for those of you who used the Chantix to kick the cigarettes. I have smoked on and off for years, and I have quit several times for long periods of time, but this time I am in need of some sort of assistance doing it (the thought of no cigarettes is worse for me than the thought of no norco ever was). I don't want to spend any more money on cigarettes, I hate the smell of cigarette smoke, I always have, pretty weird for a smoker, huh?

So considering Chantix and want to know if anyone has used it and found it works without effecting their epilepsy or their epilepsy medication(s).

By the way, you can always tell that a drug is affecting brain neurotransmitters when you see those warnings they give out, as you do with Chantix, and they warn that they can cause suicidal and violent thoughts and the like. This warning is a dead giveaway that the drug is affecting similar things that antidepressants and anti anxiety drugs and anti psychotics are playing around with.

i have no personal experience with that but i do know some here on the forum have been taking chantix and they did not have any problems. good luck on the smoking and mount everest. hang on and maybe someone with more knowledge may come along. in the meantime you might try googling that ?

but they call it silent due to the fact that I rarely have any type of indigestion at least until they started putting me on medications for it! Now I get indigestions and other stomach upsets every day! but when I stop taking it, it seems to go away with very rare but occasional little bit of heartburn, (maybe once a month) and its probably due to something I ate).
