Chantix and back pain

Common Questions and Answers about Chantix and back pain

chantix

1096641 tn?1271707225 I used Chantix and didn't have any complications. I have never heard of headaches related to Chantix and I just googled "chantix and headaches" which brought up several articles but there was nothing that links the two (mentions of Chantix and headache on the same page). Just wondering Terry where you heard/read it? My husband suffered from cluster headaches and they were nothing like the ones you describe. His were so intense and lasted sometimes for hours.
Avatar m tn I have a question for those of you who used the Chantix to kick the cigarettes. I have smoked on and off for years, and I have quit several times for long periods of time, but this time I am in need of some sort of assistance doing it (the thought of no cigarettes is worse for me than the thought of no norco ever was). I don't want to spend any more money on cigarettes, I hate the smell of cigarette smoke, I always have, pretty weird for a smoker, huh?
Avatar f tn My suggestion to you is try stopping the chantix and see how you feel. Then you could resume taking it if you feel the withdrawals and cravings come back really strong? Might want to ask a Doctor on that one just to be sure. As far as I know the headaches are part of the withdrawal and I have a bad one right now.
729288 tn?1251254433 I will pay the $215 on monday for my shipment then I am waiting the 2 weeks suggested and beginning. Here is my question. I am also on chantix.. the stop smoking drug. I really need to stop because I think 27 years is long enough to smoke for anyone. Does anyone know if it will have any kind of reaction? My doc told me to go ahead it wouldnt hurt me.
Avatar n tn For 17 months i am still undx will get tests back in a few days ...and i want to finally quit smoking but they want me to wait to fill the prescription until all my tests come back now im getting worried ...
Avatar n tn Yes, I'm experiencing breast pain too. It just started today. I've been on chantix for a week and a half. I have a bit of back pain too in addition to neverending nausea, so I won't be taking it after this month.
Avatar f tn My next period which was roughly 3 weeks later was NORMAL! No excess bleeding...no crippling cramps and no pain while using the bathroom. When I told my doctor about this she was amazed! If you think you have endometriosis I high recommend taking a daily dose of parsley. It's cheap and it worked for me. There are no known side effects either. I hope this helps...
Avatar m tn Personally I had to quit taking Chantix a few quits ago. I had horrible nightmares and started hallucinating. Even if your neck pain isn't related to Chantix I'd stop it immediately so the doctors can determine what the problem is.
Avatar n tn I've got the same thing going on. My chest hurts but it's centered in my breasts. Also got a bit of back pain and neverending nausea. I've been on chantix for a week and a half and will NOT be refilling it. These new pains are the last straw for me!
Avatar n tn I am getting RUQ front and back pain that comes and goes during the day and night and sometimes lasts up to 8-10 hours. I have read that biliary dyskinesia can sometimes last that long! Any info that you could provide would be greatly appreciated. Good luck!
286124 tn?1214938528 I have taken chantix daily for about a year now. It works great for the urges with crack and meth. I can be a social drug user now and let the fiend at the door when I am done. Love it!
664798 tn?1225821618 I still have a pain issue that I try and ignore.........Still though, I think the Chantix was the problem at the time, after I stopped taking it?.....I was quite a bit better, still complaining but better.
596605 tn?1369946627 read a few more posts on Chantix side effects, and if you still feel that deep fatigue, I would quit the Chantix immediately!...and most especially if you have any kind of emotional issues (I don't mean to assume) as Chantix can exacerbate them. There are many other quit aids to choose from if Chantix turns out to be not right for you.
Avatar f tn The reality is that these drugs - Chantix and antidepressants (which includes Zyban, which is the drug Buproprion also known as Wellbutrin) interact with our brain chemistry and Chantix has not been around long enough to have comprehensive and conclusive long term reasearch evidence (researches talk that basically means we don't know what we may find way down the road and all new Rx's have this risk).
Avatar f tn Not that I'm pro Chantix, but allow me to play devils advocate for a minute. When one contemplates quitting and then sets out to do it, there is a profound loss.....like losing your best friend, and we all have to deal with. I myself grieved long and hard. Could your depressed state be that you have finally come to terms with the fact that it is your time to quit? I used Chantix and mourned the loss but I also used it before it was linked to "possible" suicide.
Avatar f tn Certainly it's better if you cut down on the cigarettes. Ask your OB or RE to prescribe Chantix for you. I hear it's ok to take during pregnancy and it really helps with trying to quit smoking. Know you're not a lone if you can't quit, many women aren't able to completely quick during pregnancy and the baby turns out okay. I'm not endorsing it of course, just letting you know that you're not the only that's pregnant and could just cut back.
284208 tn?1292855519 I forgot to mention something important: rebound pain. This is what happens for a few weeks when opiates are tapered and stopped. Your pain will be noticeably worse and you'll probably have pain in places that never hurt before. Give it two or three weeks and it should go away. Hot baths help a LOT!
Avatar n tn My experience with Chantix was pretty good but I stopped taking Chantix after my third quit day. All total, a month and a half, and I didn't look back. It is 4 months today and I had some severe reactions to my quit....2 sinus infections, pneumonia & pleurisy. I have never been sick like that but I am told that it is coincidental and has nothing to do with my quit.....hmm.......
444932 tn?1273980797 When I read on the Chantix quit line that if you failed the first time, to just keep taking your Chantix and set another quit date. So I did, and I will try, and maybe it will work, but I like what you did and can only hope that that is the way it will finally work for me too. That just little by little, over time, those urges WILL begin to fade and I can see that I'm smoking less and less and will just one day, like you say, "that's it!
Avatar f tn I saw my Dr right away and she confirmed there are no interactions between Chantix and Effexor. She felt that the nicotine withdrawls, combined with the side effects of the Chantix is what caused the severe anxiety.
Avatar m tn By the way, you can always tell that a drug is affecting brain neurotransmitters when you see those warnings they give out, as you do with Chantix, and they warn that they can cause suicidal and violent thoughts and the like. This warning is a dead giveaway that the drug is affecting similar things that antidepressants and anti anxiety drugs and anti psychotics are playing around with.
Avatar f tn After going through the gammut of prescriptions,(benziprines, serotonin inhibitors, bp meds), i finally told my physician to put me back on a cycle of Chantix so I could taper off and see if it would reset my chemistry. Lo and behold it worked. Two week up taper, one month recommended dose, and two week down taper. All the side effects subsided. My sleep patterns returned to normal. Physicians do not understand the Chantix withdrawal protocol yet.
511488 tn?1214620496 I dont know if chantix dosent have enough info yet to say this but something happened, and I know a lot of people have to quit smoking during a back injury and need pain meds, so if you guys know if any of these counteract I would like to know I wasnt just making that headache up b/c it really hurt. I quit taking everything and now just take aleve for pain, which dosent work as well but its better than having sezures lol. Thanks for the info thou!!
Avatar f tn t go away, dizziness, confusion, trouble breathing, and pain behind my eyes. I have had every test and they can find nothing. Last night I looked up Chantix side effects on the web and found HUNDREDS of people with problems like mine that persist long after they stopped taking the pill. Many people in their thirties that just had a heart attack one day out of the blue (this is what I am most afraid of happening to me) Does anyone know how to undo the damage that chantix is causing?
Avatar m tn Hello everyone,I have a progressive case of hepatitis C and want to use the drug Chantix to quit smoking and worried about the side affects.Does anyone have any knowledge of this drug interaction.
427279 tn?1210919821 Unfortunatly I got so sleepy not sure if it was the chantix heard others said it was I had to go off it and yeap right back at smoking. When you stop the pills you really need to have a plan to not go back to it as the pill really cut the craving to nothing but it comes back so work on finding things to do with your hands well on the chantix so when the course is done maybe you will have better success staying off the smack then I did!
Avatar f tn I awoke from my sleep last night and was stretching my legs. I believe that I clenched my toes, flexed my ankle, and then flexed my knee. My gastroc contracted incredibly tightly, causing excruciating pain, and I was completely unable to move my leg from knee down. I was in so much pain that it took at least 30 seconds to explain to my boyfriend what was happening. He proceeded to manually extend my gastroc, relieving the acute pain.
