Avatar n tn The dosage amount is based on your body composition, height, weight, etc., so 1800mg (while it is an exceedingly high dosage) could possibly be a normal dosage size for someone large in stature. I was under the idea that it was common knowledge that overdosing on any drug can be fatal, but I guess you didn't know.
Avatar f tn I"m taking CETIRIZINE(Zyrtec) daily and don't feel itching any more. If I try to skip just one day, it comes back. Doctor said I need it unitl give birth and will do more tests to find out or it could go away itself, no other choice. I have to live with it.
Avatar m tn Along with steam inhalation, you can take nonsedating antihistamines like cetirizine (Zyrtec) or loratadine (Claritin). Moreover decongestants and topical decongestants may help in reducing congestion of the nose. You can use eucalyptus oil or products containing menthol with steam inhalation. This should help. Pls visit your physician if the condition persists for a longer period. Keep us posted.

1331658 tn?1275341605 How much Zyrtec can I take? I am on 10mg of zyrtec a day and 20mg or Loratadine a day as well. I'm 29yrs old, the reason why I want to take more is, 5yrs ago I was in a car accident and got TBI- Traumatic Brain Injury, The part of my brain that sends out signals got damaged. My hip strength was at like 10% on one side and 15% or normal on the other side. Well, I had a plugged nose and I asked my doc for something and he gave me Loratadine to help me with my nose.

Avatar f tn I could not believe I found some one else with the exactly the same problem as me! the burning itching with hands & feet & then spreads all over, All from not taking Zyrtec(or the generic version Cetirizine Hydrochloride) after using it for over six months. I have a doctor & I will be just paying the $25 co-payment for him to tell me stop taking it. well duh! Its a catch 22 situation for me...

Avatar n tn Hi, welcome to forum. Horsefly is known to cause two types of reactions namely Local reactions and Systemic reactions. They are capable of inducing allergic reactions and/or transmitting infectious diseases. The swelling suggest local reaction to the Flies bite. Reduction of local edema may be induced with cooling (ice or cold pack). Topical lotions such as calamine decreases pain and pruritus.

1339395 tn?1317263821 Zyrtec aka cetirizine risk factor is a B-. why it has this grade. Limited human data-animal data suggest low risk. Meaning they haven't testing in humans, but those animals tested were low risk. You should be okay. Claritin aka Loratadine risk factor B-. Same as above. Both of the grades not only cover pregnancy but lactation as well.

Avatar n tn Cephalexin (Keflex) 500mg 1 tab 4 times a day for infections; Cetirizine (Zyrtec) 10mg 1 tab a day for a month for allergic reactions; Fluconazole (Diflucan) 100mg 1 tab immediately for Fungal infection; and Prednisone (Deltasone) 20 mg 1 tab a day for 3 days; which he wants me to use only if the others don't work due to the steroid nature.
