Avatar f tn Did they disappear? If she continues to have them, I'd consider doing allergy testing on her to see what caused them. Benadryl works for a lot of people. It agitates me/activates me so I can't take it but it works pretty well for hives.
Avatar f tn I notice there is a white head on the tip as well. really dont know what is it.. I have been taking antibiotics (a week) and cetirizine (one month) and isotrotinoin (few months time) for a while. That is strange as I assume cetirizine should help anti-allergy as doctor prescribed to me when I had other allergy on my skin - it occurs when my skin have pressure on it and it goes red and itchy, when you scatch it, it swells a big piece.

Avatar n tn I began having a severe problem with hives recently. Am currently taking Cetirizine, Benadryl, Hydroxylene and am doing a tapering (18 day) prednisone treatment. I am wondering what is causing the dark circles under my eyes. I am getting enough sleep. Is it the allergy or one of the meds?
Avatar n tn The most commonly used oral treatments are antihistaminics (such as cetirizine, loratidine, benadryl available over the counter). The condition will most likely resolve after a few hours of taking these medication. However, if the symptoms persist or increase in frequency or intensity or you experience any difficulty in breathing or sweating etc, you should immediately consult a doctor. Avatar n tn You should try moisturizing lotions and some over-the-counter antihistaminics like cetirizine or loratidine. Anti-itch creams such as diphenhydramine (benadryl) may provide relief. If a rash still bothers you, go see your doctor. Take care.
Avatar m tn ok so for the past week every morning when I wake up my feet start itching, then the back of my calves itch. I usually spot a couple of small bumps which then spread all over my legs and turn into hives. Around my knees the hives are clustered and raised and flat. And on my thighs my skin becomes discolored and there are white splotches everywhere with a hive in the middle. I'll usually take a benadryl and it'll go away, but I'm sick of taking it.
Avatar n tn Take some over the counter antihistaminic like benadryl or Claritin(loratidine). Sometimes double conventional doses of these non-sedating antihistamines such as Cetirizine(zyrtec), Loratadine(Claritin) and Fexofenadine may be needed to get symptom relief.Apply mild corticosteroid cream like dermacort on the rash.It should help. Avatar f tn It can be due to drug allergy reaction to Cymbalta. You need to take antihistaminics like benadryl or Claritin. Longer-acting antihistamines are available by prescription. They cause less drowsiness and can work just as well. These medications include fexofenadine and cetirizine. But they should always be taken under medical supervision. Moreover you may try calamine lotion on the rash.

Avatar f tn t have alot of money and my ins is not the best. I have been on Zytec and Benadryl what seems like forever. They help control the problem but does not cure it. Can anyone help me?
Avatar n tn I think it is an allergic reaction to something because if I take a Benadryl it seems to ease off. I shower everyday and scrub extra good. Hygene is not an issue. I am at my ropes end here. Please help if you have any knowledge to this problem.
Avatar n tn Hi, welcome to forum. Horsefly is known to cause two types of reactions namely Local reactions and Systemic reactions. They are capable of inducing allergic reactions and/or transmitting infectious diseases. The swelling suggest local reaction to the Flies bite. Reduction of local edema may be induced with cooling (ice or cold pack). Topical lotions such as calamine decreases pain and pruritus.
Avatar n tn You may take oral antihistaminics like benadryl or zyrtec. Also apply calamine lotion as it has a soothing effect on the skin. You can apply OTC steroid cream but it is only helpful if applied right away, before blisters appear, or much later, when the blisters have dried up. Compresses with cool water or Burrow’s solution (available without prescription) can help dry the ooze faster. Severe cases like extensive blistering and when rashes are present on the face may need oral steroids.
Avatar n tn I take a 24 hour allergy pill each morning and by the time I go to bed at night I am too itchy to sleep so end up taking a benadryl. I have allergies to dust, mold, trees, grass, ragweed, etc. and know I do have some food allergies that I hope to uncover soon. The one I have found is shellfish which makes me oh so itchy beyond what I normally am. I did do a diet that a Naturopath put me on to eliminate yeast from my body (no dairy, sugars, yeast, wheat, gluten) and I did feel better.
