Avatar m tn However, it seems from your description that the lesions might be some kind of allergic eruptions, milia, heat rash, skin infections / contact dermatitis. Hives are usually allergic caused by food and insect stings also besides medication or cosmetics. Sometimes they may also be due to infections, heat, cold or stress ((emotional / physical). Many a times no specific cause for them is ever found.
Avatar m tn For over a year I have been suffering with a changing rash. Several months before this all started I was stung fifty plus times on each arm by Asian Tiger Mosquitoes. two to three months later the rash broke out on my arms and legs, I had what appeared to be poison which went away and then reappeared. I did have contact with some bushes in the yard a week before the outbreak.
Avatar n tn He can take non-sedating antihistamines such as Cetirizine or Loratadine(Claritin) when the rash appears. He may take Vitamin C along with the prescribed treatment. Vitamin C is a general anti-allergy supplement. Also apply calamine lotion and a mild steroid cream like dermacort on the rash. If the symptoms persist, then it would be best to get it confirmed from a dermatologist Hope it helps. Take care and pls do keep me posted on how you are doing or if you have any additional queries.
Avatar n tn I had a rash on my chest a few days and yesterday when I woke up the rash was gone but the area it was completely dried out. Later on that day the skin started cracking and there was an intense burning sensation. This morning I bought some Neosporin and have been applying it to the area. The burning goes away for awhile but returns in about two hours after I use it. The label says to only use it 1-3 times today and I just used it for the third time.

Avatar n tn After recovering from a serious upper respiratory infection (Amox with Augmentin prescribed), I broke out in a terribly itchy rash. At first it appeared to be like scabies, so was treated for that. Then, at times it was hive like (even the scratches raised up like hives). It is not everywhere, underarms, breasts, naval, lower abdomen, back. chest, shoulders, wrists, hands. There are many small bumps mixed with bigger hive like bumps. Very, very itchy. Calamine helps.

Avatar n tn I was recently on the antibiotic Bactrim and learned that I am allergic to sulfa. I am broken out in a very red rash on (not hives) my body. I am no longer taking Bactrim. I stopped immediately and am now taking Levaquin. This is my second day with this rash and it is much worse than yesterday. Do rashes generally get worse before they get better? Also, how long, on average, can I expect to havr this rash? I am taking Benedryl to help wth itchiness but it does not seem to be that helpful.
Avatar f tn I have this rash which started on my face, neck and ears and has now spread to my arms, stomach and back. Its looks like small pimples with no whiteheads or anything on them. They are REALLY itchy, especially on my neck, which burns. I've only had them for a few days but they're getting worse. I haven't ate anything different or used any products that i don't normally. Any suggestions of what it could be? I've searched the net but haven't found much yet.

Avatar n tn Cholinergic urticaria is a subcategory of physical urticaria (aka hives) that is a skin rash brought on by a hypersensitive reaction to body heat. Symptoms follow any stimulus to sweat such as exercise (sometimes called exercise-induced urticaria), heat from the sun (which could also indicate solar urticaria), saunas, hot showers (reaction to water can also indicate water urticaria), spicy foods which may cause an increase in body temperature or even stress due to blushing or anger.

Avatar n tn Like usually by the end of summer or as a child my family used to rent a beach house and always by the end of the week this rash would appear. The rash is extremely itchy and it looks like small blisters as I itch the area. I have read all the previous sites I could find and they all describe a sun allergy where the rash appears as soon as they get into the sun but mine comes after long periods of time.
Avatar n tn Hi You have not mentioned on which part of your body you had the rash. Also have you ever been diagnosed with some medical disorder in the past? There is likelihood that you might have had a mild allergic skin reaction. There is a common skin condition called hives or urticaria, which causes red and sometimes itchy bumps on your skin. Hives can occur anywhere on the body such as the trunk, arms, and legs.
Avatar m tn Am now suffering from dermatographia - allergy skin tests are reactive, however I experience no hay fever which seems odd. Only itchy skin, no rash, with dermatographia. Cetirizine stops the itch but it returns when I am off the drug. I am aware that I am at a low risk but please tell me whether this symptom is a possible complication of HIV infection. Thanks.
