Avatar n tn Medicines like cetirizine are used to treat nasal allergies. So if one has both, the surgery itself will not make the allergies go away. Therefore, medicines like cetirizine may be needed indefinitely if symptoms are bad enough. Cetirizine is generally very well tolerated. You can look online for the list of possible side effects.

Avatar f tn I get hives and I take something that is similar to zyrtec for it. Cetirizine 10mg given to me by my VA (veteran affairs) doctor. It's safe. Get well soon. I know the feeling and it *****.
Avatar f tn I notice there is a white head on the tip as well. really dont know what is it.. I have been taking antibiotics (a week) and cetirizine (one month) and isotrotinoin (few months time) for a while. That is strange as I assume cetirizine should help anti-allergy as doctor prescribed to me when I had other allergy on my skin - it occurs when my skin have pressure on it and it goes red and itchy, when you scatch it, it swells a big piece.
Avatar f tn My allergist from Cleveland clinic here in Coral Spring FL prescribe me CETIRIZINE 10MG 3 tablets a day for a month and then bring it down to 2 a day. I began with the treatment on March 2021 as today July 27/2021 I can tell you that I'm feeling 85% better before was every single day going to hell, today I'm not completely free, but feel much much better. Try it. CETIRIZINE is the same as ZYRTEC, but less expensive if a Dr. prescribed it . Good luck.
Avatar m tn You can take non-sedating antihistamines such as Cetirizine(Zyrtec) or Loratadine(Claritin) to get symptom relief. Sedating antihistamines such as Chlorphenamine(Benadryl) is used at night to get urticaria control. Short courses of oral cortisone or steroids are taken for short periods (one to three days) to settle more severe symptoms. You may take Vitamin C and apply calamine lotion on the rashes.
11246063 tn?1420951832 Two days that I'm itching on my back, arms and legs. No rashes though. I took cetirizine thinking I'm having allergies but the itch did not lessen a bit. What do you think it is?
Avatar f tn Wow, that's a good question, Imo, I would see a neurologist first, I've been seen by a nl since dx'd with chiari in 2001\2002. She has been the one referring me to the ns...but I do think nl then ns.
Avatar f tn How do I find a NL who can help me even if I'm lucky enough to have my NS agree chiari is my issue? My NL agrees I have chiari, but not one that is causing a problem. I don't know yet how NS views me, will find out Monday. In the interim, the only help I got today was increase dosage of topamax. Awesome. Thanks.
Avatar f tn I had been seeing a doctor for about a year, and he pretty much gave me the typical run around. I'd tried every med he gave me, and jumped through every hoop he offered me. In October I went to see a NS at Mass General and I liked him very much. I still have a lot of soul searching to do, but I believe I will be having the surgery in May (my choice at the scheduling). After seeing the NS I tried to get back in with my NL.
Avatar f tn Did they disappear? If she continues to have them, I'd consider doing allergy testing on her to see what caused them. Benadryl works for a lot of people. It agitates me/activates me so I can't take it but it works pretty well for hives.
979826 tn?1389036358 Moghkar (NL) Dr. Guyton (ophthalmologist) my nl, Dr. Gordon(plastic surgeon), Dr. Moghkar is at bayview, all of the nl are but they still work with a team at the main hospital. and oh my goodness that is crazy! praying for you!!!
Avatar n tn can cetirizine hydrochloride be taken with blood pressure medicines like idapamide and amlodipine besilate tablets.
Avatar f tn t even say that any of my symptoms were pertaining to my recovery!? He referred me to a NL which I see Monday. What should I expect from my visit? I want help with my recovery process and more direction with care. This is affecting my daily life at work and home. I missed work Wednesday due to my symptoms but have no one to back me up on what I am going through. Obviously my NS did his job and can't help me anymore lost and confused till Monday maybe I will have some direction then?
1546631 tn?1321643204 Hi, that name is not on our list that a member went to him and liked him...and I have no recollections of the name, sorry.... But u never know, u may have found one we do not know about : ) Is this a NS or a NL?
1281936 tn?1276557070 Thks for info. on LP. I didn't know that. "Treating me for Chiari" - haha! that's a joke here in Austin, TX. She knows next to nothing abt Chiari. When my 1st MRI showed a 5mm herniation & diagnosed Chiari my NL got out a big old book and read me the definition of Chiari and then told me not to worry and to please NOT google Chiari b/c it would only mis-inform and scare me!
2063048 tn?1641389945 PCP wanted me tested for EDS, POTS, and TCS, which is why he sent me to the local NL. However, the NL seems only intent on migraines and giving me Topamax (now 100mg) and muscle relaxer. No physical therapy or any other treatment. He also wants me to do stretches several times a day that seem contrary to what I was told I should be doing (chin to chest and looking all the way up, for one). My question - why I came on here - is do I trust my gut and just not go back to this guy?
4186651 tn?1357830957 My PCP listened way more than the NL she sent me to, just depends on who you get for a Dr. It took me a lot of work to get from NL (who just wanted to prescribe meds) to a NS that had experience an would listen. Just have to keep fighting even when you are discouraged.. it can be a very long process to find the right person!
