Finally a close friend who is a Vascular Surgeon told me to try taking both Zyrtec (10mg) and Pepcid (50 - 100 mg) at least an hour prior to exercise. It has worked great for me! These are both OTC drugs. Hope this helps someone!
I got rashes on my face and neck/ right eye partially swollen due to poison ivy, sumac or oak. I took prednisone 20 mg (1 )tablet right away plus 1 tablet of 10 mg cetirizine, felt little bit better after an hour, itching has subside.

Medicines like cetirizine are used to treat nasal allergies. So if one has both, the surgery itself will not make the allergies go away. Therefore, medicines like cetirizine may be needed indefinitely if symptoms are bad enough. Cetirizine is generally very well tolerated. You can look online for the list of possible side effects.

Now my daughter is on propranolol 20 mg/5mL at 2 mL per day, Concerta 27 mg, and cetirizine all together. My problem now is that the Concerta seems to not be as effective when she was doing so well before. I asked to take her off the propranolol to see if it would make a difference but the cardiologist said that she is in danger of morbid arrhythmia and that her arrhythmia was wildly out of control. They told me she was having 3-4 PACs in a row constantly. Is this really dangerous?

I'm a 26 year old female with hypothyroidism and possible polysistic ovary syndrome. About a year and a half ago-just as my thyroid problems were getting bad and before I was put on treatment for them- I got unbearably itchy skin that would keep me awake at night and began to come up in these ugly, small, round, bright red bumps on my arms and legs and thighs.
You can take non-sedating antihistamines such as Cetirizine or Loratadine(Claritin) when the rash appears. Short courses of oral cortisone or steroids are taken for short periods (one to three days) to settle more severe symptoms.You may take Vitamin C along with the prescribed treatment. Vitamin C is a general anti-allergy supplement. Also apply calamine lotion and a mild steroid cream like dermacort on the rash.
I have had a rash like small hives around the neck and upper chest, very itchy I have gone to the doctor several times and have gotten steroid injections and have only helped for a week and then its back, currently he put me on Predisone 40 mg and have tappered to 5mg and now the rash is back. Started atarax friday night and have seen some relief. 25 mg recommended 4 x a day. Have been taling 3 x on or about incivek time. Friday night had to take ambien to sleep. Trying to keep the number of various drugs low so don't have reactions to reactions.

It comes in tiny little 10 mg pills plus the 25 mg ones. It can be sedating so it is good to start out with the 10 mg ones at first. Plus it has less anticholinergic properties than Benedryl which dries out my nose, dehydrates me and makes it so I unable to sustain my thirst or keep my mouth moist.
Sorry for thread hijacking - I just think since many of use antihistamines in the long term during treatment you may as well break down and get a decent script.
