Common Questions and Answers about Cetirizine dosage for cold

zyrtec

Avatar n tn The dosage amount is based on your body composition, height, weight, etc., so 1800mg (while it is an exceedingly high dosage) could possibly be a normal dosage size for someone large in stature. I was under the idea that it was common knowledge that overdosing on any drug can be fatal, but I guess you didn't know.

Avatar f tn My allergist from Cleveland clinic here in Coral Spring FL prescribe me CETIRIZINE 10MG 3 tablets a day for a month and then bring it down to 2 a day. I began with the treatment on March 2021 as today July 27/2021 I can tell you that I'm feeling 85% better before was every single day going to hell, today I'm not completely free, but feel much much better. Try it. CETIRIZINE is the same as ZYRTEC, but less expensive if a Dr. prescribed it . Good luck.
Avatar n tn Therefore, medicines like cetirizine may be needed indefinitely if symptoms are bad enough. Cetirizine is generally very well tolerated. You can look online for the list of possible side effects.
Avatar f tn Ok I come to my medhelp experts for help. I have several pain injury issues. My pain management Dr just added this. I haven't taken any yet. I have nerve compression in neck nerve entrapment in low back besides several other nerve issues. I take 2 50mg of trazodone nightly for all nerve spasms. After 5 months the nerve jerks r keeping me awake again. So dr prescribed baclofen to help with this. I'm so afraid to take after all I've read on here on any type of benzos.
Avatar f tn thanks ladies for this, yes my doc knows of pregnancy, infact, he did my IVF, have been trying for 5 years, the reason i got scared was because i read from the FDA that cetirizine is a category B and tht means they cant assure 100% saftey, and am just 2 weeks in pregnancy, will be having ultrasound on the 3rd nov. babywanted556 - does ur intching increase after a shower? mine does, its like a reaction after chloroquine. pinches here and there, did u concieve thru ivf?
Avatar n tn I dont have any blisters or anything like that but I believe it may be just a mild reaction from the leaf. Am looking for advice on what this could be. It didnt really spread anywhere else but now my inner left thigh is starting to itch and chafe where it rubs against my scrotum.
Avatar m tn Along with steam inhalation, you can take nonsedating antihistamines like cetirizine (Zyrtec) or loratadine (Claritin). Moreover decongestants and topical decongestants may help in reducing congestion of the nose. You can use eucalyptus oil or products containing menthol with steam inhalation. This should help. Pls visit your physician if the condition persists for a longer period. Keep us posted.
Avatar f tn I get hives and I take something that is similar to zyrtec for it. Cetirizine 10mg given to me by my VA (veteran affairs) doctor. It's safe. Get well soon. I know the feeling and it *****.
1900997 tn?1321659956 Thank you all very much for your thoughtful answers (and sorry for my delayed reply). I must admit, I regularly forget that I am getting older ... ;-) And yes, as someone with various confirmed pollen allergies, I took one cetirizine tablet one evening and felt absolutely vile the next day, so I can only confirm what Michelle says...
Avatar n tn 5 mg, and cough suppressant dextromethorphan 15 mg, each per 5 mL), then the guideline dose for a 4-year-old is one-quarter teaspoon (the one-half teaspoon dose is for age 6-11 years, while the full teaspoon dose is for ages 12 years and up).
Avatar f tn 1% and Mometasona (to no effect) and for folliculitis with Canesten cream, doxicyclin for 3 months and fluconazole (again to no effect). I have had swabs that've come back negative and two skin biopsies testing for dermatitis herpetifomis and both have come back negative. I have cut gluten out of my diet however, as I've noticed than whenever I eat it my skin is even itchier.
Avatar f tn I have been taking antibiotics (a week) and cetirizine (one month) and isotrotinoin (few months time) for a while. That is strange as I assume cetirizine should help anti-allergy as doctor prescribed to me when I had other allergy on my skin - it occurs when my skin have pressure on it and it goes red and itchy, when you scatch it, it swells a big piece. But this seems to stop after Im on cetirizine - however, other skin allergy comes up! So annoying!

Avatar n tn ive been having a prob. for a coupple of years with my skin.
Avatar n tn For the past 16 hours or so, I've had what seems to be hives or a rash on my left ear. Just tiny little bumps, hardly noticeable to see but easy to feel, and mildly itchy (more so when I touch it of course) I'm assuming this is an allergic reaction to something but I'm not sure... it's only the one ear, I have no known allergies, my earrings are 14k gold that have been in my ears for years so it more than likely isn't them. Any ideas? Is this even an allergic reaction?
Avatar m tn I found that the All Day Allergy pill 10 mg is working because it is Cetirizine and it works for 24 hours, but I also found at my home that we have Zyrtec also. But it is Cetirizine HCL 10 mg. What is the difference?
Avatar m tn Hello, I cannot confirm anything without examination but it can be hives, sweat dermatitis or fungal infections. The mainstay of treatment is antihistamine which may be necessary for prolonged periods .You can take non-sedating antihistamines such as Cetirizine or Loratadine to get symptom relief. Short courses of oral cortisone or steroids are taken for short periods (one to three days) to settle more severe symptoms. Application of calamine lotion will help in soothing the skin.
Avatar f tn Hi, I'm newly diagnosed hypothyroid. I've been taking 25mg levothyroxine for nearly 8 weeks now but I just feel worse and worse. It's really affecting my day to day life much more than before - I'm a student nurse and am struggling to make it through my shifts on a daily basis. Thinking my dosage is wrong - how long does it take for everything to become stabilised again? Not sure how I'm gunna carry on my nurse training at the moment :-( any comments appreciated.
Avatar m tn I'm allergic and I know it! I've been allergic ever since I was a little boy and I've learned to live with that. My problem is that during the last couple of years, I seem to get more and more sensitive to the allergens that trigger my reactions, as well as more prone to have shortness of breath as a primary reaction! This year, although spring hadn't affected me so far, I happened to catch a cold (whether it was the flu, a cold or bacterial infection I don't know!
