Avatar f tn My opthamologist has scheduled me for a test to determine my scope of peripheral vision because I apparently have some reduction of it. What is the treatment if the reduction is significant? Do they do any type of surgery? If so, is it laser surgery and can it be done in the office?
Avatar n tn Gabapentine is a good medicine that has shown some consistent results. Reduction of stress levels is also shown to work. Thalamus is the center where all the sensory information comes. And it includes emotional aspects, too. Some people benefit from stereotactic surgery (Thalamotomy). The decision regarding the treatment options can be discussed with your Neurologist. All the best.
410475 tn?1262942367 Personally I would risk 75mg/day reduction while above 150mg/day, but stick to 37.5mg/day reduction for each step down from 150mg/day. When it comes to antidepressants, always get doctor advice before implementing a reduction program. As always, my comments do not constitute doctor's advice --- always see a doctor before changing any medication for stress or depression.

Avatar n tn i work as a call center agent and i work at night. For several months, my periods comes on my expected dates except this month.i am delayed for 8 days now. This past few days, maybe 2weeks ago, i had irregular sleeping patterns and my maximum number of hours of sleep is around 5 hours only and most of the time i only get to sleep for 3-4 hours. Im just wondering if stress or lacking of sleep could cause menstrual delay? or am i pregnant?

Avatar m tn How does stress affect IOP values? Do stress reduction techniques help in reducing IOP?
1530342 tn?1405016490 This is so sad. What a tragic thing to have happen. As far as the bar taking some responsibility? I don't know, I tend to think not. So many people can be so incredibly drunk, and not appear that way. If he was obvious..stumbling around, etc. they should cut him off for sure. But I don't think they can really control it unless super obvious. As for driving? I don't think they can control that at all.
Avatar m tn t increase during exercise, and I had a normal stress echo test. My sleep study was also unremarkable with just mild sleep apnea..

Avatar m tn To riff on what CW said: stress is like the guy who comes to your party, brings nothing, eats more than anyone, gets drunk, breaks something, gets into an argument, and is the last one to go home. Biofeedback is helpful, as is meditation--which is free.
Avatar m tn OK, checked my sources and the NIH shows a specificity of 94% for stress test using thallium imaging to find coronary artery disease, I was off by 3 points. I had some old data.

Avatar f tn Maybe you could find a clinical trial or an agency such as an HIV clinic, Indian health center, Harm Reduction Services or some agency like that and stop worrying about whether insurance will pay for something. It's just an idea, alot of ppl don't know it but alot of times you don't have to be Indian or have HIV to get heath assistance from one of those centers and you don't have to use drugs to go to Harm Reduction Services either.
Avatar m tn As far as the anemia goes..yes there are remedies for this. First is usually a dose reduction of the Riba and possibly the rescue drug Procrit. How low is your HGB. and when was it last checked and how may mg. of Riba are you currently taking ? Welcome to the group...

Avatar n tn I think most of us who have had angina attacks or a heart attack will have somewhat different symptoms, sometimes no symptoms, but generally cardiac chest pain doesn't increase when the area of the pain is touched. Also, cardiac symptoms are generally explained as 'pressure' or a 'clutching' sensation. That being said, something is causing you discomfort and as I have read and heard many times, chest pains need to be investigated.
Avatar m tn the conditions would be due to a reduction of blood/oxygen with each heartbeat and whether or not, and how well the system compensates. I have moderate to severe mitral valve regurgitation, and I don't have any symptoms with everyday activities and moderate exercise at the fitness center.
Avatar n tn hanlie, any drug which might help reduced stress also likely will create problems for the embryo, so please don't take drugs to help relax. however, a number of non drug treatments can minimize the effects of stress on your body, including exercise, massage therapy, acupuncture, meditation, relaxation response and some forms of psychotherapy.
