Now, half the meds I take are off-label, so it may be no big deal that you‘re taking it for an autoimmune condition and not an organ transplant. My concern is that the drug is meant to lessen your immune system not increase mucous membrane production, which is what I would think a Sjogren‘s patient would be looking for. But I’m in do way a doc, so it’s not for me to question. But I am curious! How does that work for you? I'm really intrigued!!

After reviewing the medications I was already taking (to avoid any conflicts) she recommended Lamotrigine for my intense anxiety. I am VERY familiar with off-label drug uses, but I can find no information re: the use of this drug for my situation. It is a drug used for bi-polar disorder and seizures. I thought that Atavan would be the drug of choice, and after reading more about Lamotrigine, I have become actually quite shocked about this recommendation.

First I had to get off Prograf because the interaction makes the Prograf 70x more potent. I was switched to cyclosporine and Myfortic. When the Incivek was started my cyclosporine was dropped to 25 mg once per day due to their interaction.

Though there is a good theoretical basis for the use of arimidex on endometriosis, I believe that this is still an off-label indication for the drug and the clinical basis for its use is still from phase II clinical trials (studies with still low number of patients). Until such time that the indication of endometriosis can be demonstrated in large phase III clinical trials, the use of arimidex for endometriosis is still controversial.

Some doctors have used immunosuppressants to act to function like long term steroid treatment. I think this is an "off label" use for Cellcept. You definitely cannot stay on that high hose of prednisone regardless as it will have enormous side affects. I would recommend the cellcept to get you down or off steroids. have you tried azathioprine? This is a more time tested steroid sparing agent than cellcept and there is really no concern on its use during pregnancy.

The doctor says he proposes to take my mother off CellCept altogether at some point in time and only PanGraaf will be needed for the whole life - in the meantime the doctor may prescribe CellCept in on / off basis.

After a upper respiratory infection last month I have been having someone more weaknesses and even a slight breathing problem at times, so he wants to put me on Cellcept. The problem is Cellcept can cause Lymphoma and other side effects and infection risk,. I want to get off Prednisone due to weight gain and creeping up hypertension and the Mestinin digestive problems are a real pain.

For genotype 1 patients who cannot take interferon, the panel recommends sofosbuvir plus the HCV protease inhibitor simeprevir (Olysio), with or without ribavirin, again for 12 weeks. Did your doctor prescribe it to you for this? If not, STOP right now...'experimenting' with prescription medications, which are extremely addictive can NEVER have good outcomes.

They all have reported feeling better daily - this off label approach is a God Send! Now I will finish out the 12 weeks - they will do the viral load test again at that time and then 12 weeks post treatment test again to declare me officially SVR!!! NO HORRIBLE INTERFERON OR RIBAVARIN THIS TIME FOR ME!!

Hi welcome to the Hepatitis C community Olysio per the prescribing information sheet is intended to be used with interferon and Ribavirin. The same applies to Sovaldi. Per prescription they are not used together. However there have been clinical trials using them together "off label" and they have been shown to be highly effective when used together. Right now my doc is tring Cellcept. The jury is still out. But I have been on steroids, Plaquenil, Arava, Methotrexate and now Cellcept.

Today I saw my MS Neuro and I asked about any news on new treatments for PPMS. He told me he is expecting a new treatment will be approved later this year by the FDA. It is a infusion every 6 months. Of course I cant remember the name for the drug and have not been able to find any more information about it on-line either. Does anyone here know any information about this treatment.

I had a breakthrough with Avonex so my dr. recommended adding cellcept to the avonex shots. If so can you tell me how you have done with cellcept. Thanks!!!!

I hate to ask my doctors the question of this taking my life and how soon. I am on prednisone that we are weaning off and Cellcept 3000 mg per day. It was considered in the mild to moderate stages, but the docs are not sure how this should be treated. no studies have been done on this and am kinda in limbo....

If you hear of any support groups, clinical trials, etc., please let me know.

that affected my legs so my Dr. just prescribed Cellcept. I filled the prescription yesterday and was scared to death after reading the literature on it. What is PPMS? I will be interested in seeing if anyone has used this medication too. Sunnyb.

Anyone on cellcept having back pain? I've been having back pain for a couple of weeks now, wake up earlier and earlier in the morning with my back aching and when I move it I get these stabbing pains. It all goes away when I get up, and I've managed to sleep a bit in the morning in a half-seated position, so it's really related to lying down. I just read someplace that cellcept can cause back pain, but I haven't been able to find any info on what kind of pain. Could this be it?

my doctors have reduced my cellcept in half. 1000 mg 2x day to 500 mg 2x day. they said my symptoms are common and reducing the cellcept should help. any comment?

My doctor had me trying to wean off too quickly, so I am now using the Point of Return (Label Me Sane) protocol, which is a very slow taper of 5% per week. Is neuropathic because a nerve compression or damage problem has not been found, or is cannabis like the off-label uses for pure anti-depressants? "The patient stopped complaining, so it works!" Despite the patient being too doped out to remember pains, difficulties, or otherwise have a coherant thought... Awaiting the pitchforks and torches.

when you say adding some cellcept might be a good idea,does that include trying to lower my prograf some?
