Common Questions and Answers about Cellcept dosage lupus

cellcept

Avatar f tn I see ou wrote this a while back but I am hoping you are still here and will see my question. I am supposed to start taking Cellcept for Lupus and I can't find anyone who can tell me anything about how they did on it. Are you there? Did you have any side effects while on it?
Avatar f tn When that happens, the doctor increases PanGraf / Cellcept dosage and a particular steroid (wysolone). After that the enzymes go back to normal - except GGT which goes down but still remains well above normal (say, falls from 1800 to 300).
Avatar n tn I was in the hospital with vasculitis of my heart because of the lupus I have and they put me on Prednisone and Aza. before I left the hospital. I am happy to say I have not had any negative reactions to it. I am actually very excited about taking it because I have been on and off Prednisone for a long time and if the Imuran kicks in and starts lowering my ANA then I will be able to stop the steroids (Prednisone) completely. I HOPE ! I believe I know the reason your G.P.
Avatar n tn I'm a patient with autoimmune hepatitis type II, and my doctor has just perscribed cellcept in an attempt to reduce or stop use of prednizone. It is really important to me to try and have a child, but I'm afraid if I start cellcept that I shouldn't get pregnant. I know cellcept is a class D drug, and discussed my concern with my doctor.
645390 tn?1338555377 How much your immune system is suppressed depends on the dosage you are taking. I am on 2000mg daily (which is considered a high dosage) and have only gotten mildly sick once in those 2 years. At that time my PC just had me stop the CellCept while taking an antibiotic for 2 weeks and I was all better. Of course I don't have any kids running around so I'm not exposed to a lot of illnesses.
741900 tn?1235160618 I started taking Cellcept after I had a kidney transplant in May 2001. I was told that this medication can help my lupus.
Avatar n tn I was diagnosed with Lupus Nephritus IV , my doctor had me do a 3 day IV treatment of 1g solu Medrol , each, that was a week ago. I was already on prednisone 60 mg a day and right before the treatment Cellcept was added. I am feeling like I got hit by bus ! I read elsewhere that most of my current issues are withdrawal from the Solu Medrol . I was wondering if anyone else has had this treatment and how long it took to feel" normal" ?
Avatar f tn I have been put on Cellcept and Prednisone. They are going to wein me off of the Prednisone once I am up to the highest dosage of Cellcept which is 2000mg a day. I am starting at 500mg for 5 days, then 1000mg for 5 days, blood work, and then 2000mg. Most websites don't speak specifically about vasculitis of the eyes. All autoimmune disease tests came up negative. I want to know more about this disease.
984010 tn?1255796138 Did your docs do any lab work such as ANA or SSA or SSB blood test? What meds did she give you? Avatar f tn I am a 51 yr old female. During my annual check up in October, my Provider found my creatinin level elevated and a high sed rate. I have had controlled blood pressure for years. Since October, my GFR has dropped to 35 with a continued increasing of my creatinin to 1.57. ANA tests have been positive (1:320). I have seen a nephrologist twice . . which has only produced a "watch and wait" attitude. Multiple myloma has been ruled out.
Avatar n tn I had a breakthrough with Avonex so my dr. recommended adding cellcept to the avonex shots. If so can you tell me how you have done with cellcept. Thanks!!!!
Avatar f tn The doctor says he proposes to take my mother off CellCept altogether at some point in time and only PanGraaf will be needed for the whole life - in the meantime the doctor may prescribe CellCept in on / off basis.
Avatar f tn that affected my legs so my Dr. just prescribed Cellcept. I filled the prescription yesterday and was scared to death after reading the literature on it. What is PPMS? I will be interested in seeing if anyone has used this medication too. Sunnyb.

Avatar f tn I test my own blood and adjust my dosage of warfarin. Usually I'm right in range 2.5 to 3.5 (2 art heart valves). About 6 to 8 weeks ago, I took augmentin for 10 days, 2 weeks ago, I took another antibiotic for 5 days. Since then, my PT/INR has been too low, 2.0. My diet and meds have stayed the same. I've been increasing my dose, yet it's still too low. Is it normal for this change? Please see my profile! Can it indicate my lupus activity?
1135761 tn?1260557094 my doctors have reduced my cellcept in half. 1000 mg 2x day to 500 mg 2x day. they said my symptoms are common and reducing the cellcept should help. any comment?
645800 tn?1466860955 One more thing I have to worry about is infections due to being on CellCept of my MS. So it tends to freak me out a little bit when I get the chills as that could indicate I am running a fever. Me thinks that maybe I am having a flare? Thanks for listening.
Avatar f tn Okay hears the deal I was put on prednison when I was 17yrs old along with imuran, now i know the effects of prednison obviouly, it being a steroid there usually are some weight gain and moon face etc as common side effects. Now I'm 19yrs old and they have me on cellcept. I have always been extremely active even to due to my fatigue but I cannot loose a pound, I will work out 24-7 and change my diets often to see if anything changes and...nothing.
1176211 tn?1264038680 In cases like yours (multiple dx involving lupus, thyroid, CNS, etc) we have found almost all patients had chronic, systemic infections. You need to look into this, especially Mycoplasma species and Chlamydia pn., infections that we often found in these complex cases.
Avatar n tn when you say adding some cellcept might be a good idea, does that include trying to lower my prograf some?
Avatar n tn I know of one man who after 5 years stopped taking his prograf. He's 9 years out and doing fine. He's lucky he had a donor whose liver was a perfect match for him, he had no rejection episodes, etc. It's a risk but research is ongoing. Having had my daughter as my live liver donor, and no rejection episodes, I think I'd be a good candidate and am very interested in this subject. Currently I'm on .5mg prograf twice daily, the lowest dosage possible.
Avatar f tn I take Cellcept for 2 and a half year. How long will last taking of this medicine because my hair and stomack can't stand it any more?
Avatar m tn in discussion with my friend , he told me that doctor wants to him on CELL CEPT (medicament for lupus and ...). I could not find the connection why to go to CELLCEPT ?!? I am afraid that the government ( as we have some medicament on "positive list" means prescription and covering by the state health insurance) wants to downsize the expenses of the budget from the health insurance part.
