Avatar n tn i think the Dr wants to start, cellcept and eliminate diazapam nd steroids....after having such relief finally, after so long.. I am afraid. Also of the side effects of cellcept and having massive pain returned. But which side effects are going to be worse? Preds or cellcept. I will research and let you know,. There are other drugs, but with heart and clogged arteries, i am not a candidate... Hang in there. Advil helps. Tons of it, Percocet if you can find a Dr who will write it,.....
Avatar m tn I recently saw a post on here where someone was asking the question connecting these two problems together....I am wondering what other people have come across? My daughter was diagnosed with Minimal Change Disease...which of course is idiopathic. I am wondering if Lymes could have been her "cause". Any thoughts or theories or? would be greatly appreciated!
984010 tn?1255796138 Right now my doc is tring Cellcept. The jury is still out. But I have been on steroids, Plaquenil, Arava, Methotrexate and now Cellcept.
Avatar f tn With this, one has to check for the presence of hematuria or red blood cells in the urine, your blood pressure and total cholesterol levels. Nephrotic syndrome is a primary differential here. Was your kidney function assessed ( BUN and creatinine levels determined?). With the back pain, several differentials also need to be ruled out. This includes musculoskeletal pain, arthritc pain and an underlying spinal cord condition. Chronic pain conditions like fibromyalgia should also be considered.
1573636 tn?1310732650 for i year now.i have had extreme bloating and constant nausea,it seems like it started when they put me on cellcept for autoimmune disease,i also had neison wrap over 3 years ago, i have bowel movements every day, have had your basic tests.all they say is i have a lot of gas in my bowels.
Avatar m tn I would have an incredibly big issue with being prescribed and taking Steroids and/or Cellcept (MMF) for any length of time without an exact diagnosis and proof of this diagnosis. The possibility for damage is huge and may not be reversible. I would be reluctant to be their guinea pig if I were the patient here. Cellcept is preferable to some other options but it can cause Lymphoma with extended use in some.
Avatar n tn I am considering just staying on Prednizone for a little while longer and getting pregnant, and then going on cellcept. I have been on cellcept one week tomorrow, and think it would not be too late to discontinue (after talking to my doctor again) since I am also still on 40mg of prednizone every day. Do you have any opinions about cellcept and pregnancy?
Avatar n tn Seven patients, of whom five were hepatitis C positive, developed renal function impairment long after transplantation, as well as de novo nephrotic syndrome (n = 5), severe hypertension (n = 5), nephritic syndrome (n = 1), and increased serum creatinine (n = 1). This type III cryoglobulinemia was associated with membranoproliferative glomerulonephritis and with thrombi within the glomeruli in one case.
Avatar f tn that affected my legs so my Dr. just prescribed Cellcept. I filled the prescription yesterday and was scared to death after reading the literature on it. What is PPMS? I will be interested in seeing if anyone has used this medication too. Sunnyb.
Avatar n tn I had a dull pain in the lower right abdomen for one month and then noticed swelling of abdomen and now upper legs. My abdomen xrays were fine and my ultrasound and transvaginal ultrasound fine as well. Tomorrow I go in for a colonoscopy. Around this time I started taking iron supplements for hair loss. My iron levels were in the very bottom of the range but still in range and my GP said I could take supplements. I took them for about 3 weeks. Could that have caused cirrhosis of the liver?
Avatar f tn I see ou wrote this a while back but I am hoping you are still here and will see my question. I am supposed to start taking Cellcept for Lupus and I can't find anyone who can tell me anything about how they did on it. Are you there? Did you have any side effects while on it?
Avatar f tn The daughter is late teens and has massively swollen feet, a swollen abdomen and somewhat rounded face. She can't walk anymore without assistance. I suspect the doctor treating her doesn't have the specialist knowledge required to diagnose her or treat the problem and we don't know what to do. Is there a standard set of tests we should ask for that will diagnose with precision and help guide treatment? Everyone is feeling both scared and helpless.
Avatar n tn Damage to the tiny blood vessels in your kidneys (glomeruli) that filter waste and excess water from your blood can result in nephrotic syndrome. One result of nephrotic syndrome is low levels of protein (albumin) in your blood, which can lead to fluid accumulation and edema. Worst case scenarios.
Avatar n tn my igG level are low but in normal {lab range 700} due to steroid and nephrotic syndrome they test igG igM fta abs which came back negative i m in such a state of mind where i always think about syphilies. my eyes r blurring, decreased consentration, icthing in my ear.

Avatar f tn I take Cellcept for 2 and a half year. How long will last taking of this medicine because my hair and stomack can't stand it any more?
Avatar n tn I seem to have also gotten a yeast infection in my throat from being prescribed predinisone and an antibiotic for a lung infection..
1135761 tn?1260557094 bad taste in mouth, aches and pains with muscles and joints, diarrhea, and headache. No fever or nausea. Am I just complaining or should I take more seriously. I had blood drawn today. My next appointment with my transplant team is june 15.
Avatar m tn It can also occur in cardiac failure, liver failure and nephrotic syndrome. So, further therapy and prognosis will depend on the cause. If you can get back with the diagnosis, I can help elaborate further. Regards.
Avatar n tn I intend to get a 24 hour albumin and creatinine filtration check and also a BUN and plasma urea, creatinine test done. Having a relative with CKD has made me very sensitive towards possible kidney problems :(. My question is : 1) Is it normal to have frothy urine for sometime immediately post 2 week antibiotic session ? ( Doc rules out PSGN). 2) If all the kidney tests still turn out fine, what should I check to isolate the cause for the frothy urine ? 3) Your general opinion please.
Avatar n tn I take Cellcept and only Cellcept. I've been on it now for over a month. My MS doctor prescribed it for my PPMS since there's really no treatment for PPMS. I haven't had any side effects from it. When I first started on it, I did get some headaches but nothing I couldn't handle. In my case, I take it to hopefully slow down the progression of my particular form of this disease. Let me know if I can answer any questions.
Avatar f tn As long as one of the barriers is impaired or damaged, protein will leak into urine and thus form proteinuria. For people with Nephrotic Syndrome, large amounts of protein spill and into urine just because of damaged glomerular filtration membrane. Without effective charge barrier and mechanical barrier, glomerular filtration membrane can not stop protein passing through.
Avatar n tn m afraid your friend has got the nephrotic syndrome. Back to 2005, his protein level of 1G/24hr was already too high. He needs to see a nephrologist immediately and start treatment straight away. A kidney biopsy could be considered.
