celexa

Avatar f tn Hi everyone! Iv been taking celexa for the last four years for depression and anxiety and my doctor wants me to try Cymbalta as my celexa is no longer working and I have been suffering from pain that they believe is nerve related. Iv ready alot of reviews on this drug and not sure if its something I want to take, then again, iv read really good reviews on it. Anyone out there ever taken this drug and if so how was your experience with it.

Im scared to take it bc i have heard good and bad things about the medicine.. Avatar n tn I've just been put on citalopram for depression and BDD and after reading the reviews and side effects leaflets, im worried about gaining weight on this medication...Is it the actual increase in hunger that causes weight gain or the tablet itself? I am quite worried about this as my body image issues make me scared about putting on weight..
Avatar f tn Has anyone taken celexa? I just started less that a week ago. I just want to hear other people's experiences with it. Has anyone gained weight on it? Ect...
1539379 tn?1294332115 s time to get out of the bed, out of the house, and back to a normal life. Went to a psychiatrist today, and long story short, he put me on 40mg of celexa (20mg first week, 40mg thereafter). I've heard it's comparable to lexapro, which has gotten good reviews. Anything I should be on the look out for? Anyone have any experience with celexa...if so, how'd it work for you?
Avatar f tn There is no "king" of ssris. Dyslexic, we keep going back and forth over the same ground -- these meds are very individual. Trying to sell others on what worked for you doesn't do them any good because it might not work for them and then they might feel hopeless. Lexapro did nothing much for me, it was no "king." Not because the drug doesn't work, it just didn't take for me. Now, is it advertised as the "king" of ssris?
Avatar f tn It worked for me twice if you want to take it go for it.
Avatar f tn My OB recommended paragard for BC after little man gets here because I had mentioned that I havent done well with hormonal BC in the past. (I either get extremely moody or I completely lose my sex drive) I'm just concerned because I havent been able to find much reviews on it (that didnt seem like they were paid or fake anyways.
Avatar f tn When I go to the pharmacy to pick it up, the give me celexa and tell me that with my insurance company, lexapro has to have a pre-authorization, and that they wouldn't authorize the med until i tried to celexa 1st! So they called my doc and she said it was ok to give me the celexa. I asked the pharmacy how much would it be if I paid for it without the help of my insurance and they said $112 for a 30 day supply!!
Avatar f tn past few months depression has been really bad and i have a bottle of paxil that my doctor prescribed for me. i have been reading on line some reviews about paxil and not many of them were good. has anyone here taken it and had good experience with it.
Avatar f tn 5mg of celexa and worked them up. My old pysc wrote me the RX for celexa in January and I never got brave enough to try it. He also mentioned trying elavil(which I took 5mg of 6 years ago for migraine prevention) I discussed it with my GP and she called me in the elavil and said I could try that or the 2.5mg of celexa to see what happens.
Avatar f tn At my follow-up appt on Tuesday, the doctor said that she believes that all of this could be due to anxiety and recommended that I try vestibular therapy for the light-headed spells (which is a technique to make you dizzy and teach you how to work past it) and gave me a prescription for Celexa that she said was up to me if I wanted to try it.
Avatar m tn I have used Marijuana for 1 year almost daily after I had knee surgeries and multiple deaths in the family. I have recently been prescribed celexa for depression, which is not drug related. I haven't taken the celexa yet in fear of a reaction, but I was hoping to find some answers about side effects of both if I was already a user of marijuana first. I read that marijuana increases serotonin and celexa is a serotonin inhibitor.
Avatar m tn What are your opinions? Did the doctor made a bad choice? Has anyone here ever been on Celexa and Effexor at the same time? UPDATE: I just woke up after being asleep for about six hours and have the worst headache. I took my first dose of Effexor XR (37.5) 4 hours before bed time and then right before going to sleep I took 50 mg of Trazodone as I always do, there must be some type of bad interaction between these two.
4516107 tn?1356304067 Anyone have one/ used the double electric one. Looking for opinions as I've read a lot of mixed reviews.
5082295 tn?1371250911 Hi! I just started the new depression medicine called celexa (brand name) I felt more agitated so my doc prescribed me this to help. I have been on it a month now and kinda seems like its not working very well for that anymore. Has anyone else had experience with this medication? I always seem so irritated with something! I'm driving myself crazy! I have read up on it and it does only have a few side effects compared to others, but most say its all horrible or all wonderful.
Avatar n tn Keep a pillows in front of you when u giggle
20632981 tn?1503687567 It has very few reviews other than what is put out by the company. What have you heard about it?
Avatar f tn My Dr. prescribed Celexa for anxiety from 20 mg to 30 mg to 40mg. I find I am feeling worse and worse with each dosage increase is this normal. I find i'm continually crying, feeling really down etc.. I've never suffered from depression only anxiety. I also take Ativan which helps greatly with the anxiety. I would like to start weaning off the Celexa gradually but am not sure how to go about doing this. I am confident that the Ativan is what I require for the anxiety.
317245 tn?1258737545 I haven't used any other brand, but before you use Parents Choice, you can go to Wal-Mart.com and search out the formula like you're going to buy it and there is a section for customer reviews. I've looked up other items that way and it even shows the negative reviews. That may be an option so you get more opinions.
Avatar m tn My doctor has now prescribed me celexa for my anxiety. I have been taking Ativan as needed, but he feels I need something everyday since I have been to the ER twice in the last 9 days. What can you guys tell me about Celexa? Is it heavy with side effects? Will it be easy to start and get used to? Thanks for any help in advance.
4502768 tn?1538777982 Is Celexa addictive? I'm trying to avoid anxiety meds at all costs but sometimes I feel like I'm anxious for no reason. When I'm on the phone with someone, I pace around and around until the phone call is over, even though the conversation is not stressful in nature. I've done this since childhood when I had that long long phone cord and my parents would ya at me to " sit down and relax".
299889 tn?1257339377 It seems like we are on a vicious circle with lamictal and serquel as well as celexa ( 60 mg.) He wants to titrate me off of celexa but not sure. He also wants to refer me to another specialist, for an eval. I am afraid as this is a well known pdoc who specializes in ect. Neither myself nor my husband want me to take that route. Plus, I hear people talking about drugs my pdoc has never tried, like other mood stabilizers.
