celexa

Avatar f tn Hi everyone! Iv been taking celexa for the last four years for depression and anxiety and my doctor wants me to try Cymbalta as my celexa is no longer working and I have been suffering from pain that they believe is nerve related. Iv ready alot of reviews on this drug and not sure if its something I want to take, then again, iv read really good reviews on it. Anyone out there ever taken this drug and if so how was your experience with it.
Avatar n tn I've just been put on citalopram for depression and BDD and after reading the reviews and side effects leaflets, im worried about gaining weight on this medication...Is it the actual increase in hunger that causes weight gain or the tablet itself? I am quite worried about this as my body image issues make me scared about putting on weight..
Avatar f tn Has anyone taken celexa? I just started less that a week ago. I just want to hear other people's experiences with it. Has anyone gained weight on it? Ect...
1539379 tn?1294332115 s time to get out of the bed, out of the house, and back to a normal life. Went to a psychiatrist today, and long story short, he put me on 40mg of celexa (20mg first week, 40mg thereafter). I've heard it's comparable to lexapro, which has gotten good reviews. Anything I should be on the look out for? Anyone have any experience with celexa...if so, how'd it work for you?
Avatar f tn There is no "king" of ssris. Dyslexic, we keep going back and forth over the same ground -- these meds are very individual. Trying to sell others on what worked for you doesn't do them any good because it might not work for them and then they might feel hopeless. Lexapro did nothing much for me, it was no "king." Not because the drug doesn't work, it just didn't take for me. Now, is it advertised as the "king" of ssris?
Avatar f tn past few months depression has been really bad and i have a bottle of paxil that my doctor prescribed for me. i have been reading on line some reviews about paxil and not many of them were good. has anyone here taken it and had good experience with it.

5082295 tn?1371250911 Hi! I just started the new depression medicine called celexa (brand name) I felt more agitated so my doc prescribed me this to help. I have been on it a month now and kinda seems like its not working very well for that anymore. Has anyone else had experience with this medication? I always seem so irritated with something! I'm driving myself crazy! I have read up on it and it does only have a few side effects compared to others, but most say its all horrible or all wonderful.
2001101 tn?1331494740 I went to my family doctor and she told me its anxiety...started on Celexa and klonopin and I am happy to say I already feel great. I will get waves of anxiety in the middle of the night but they go away fast and I am back to sleep. The anxiety can really consume you which is what is so terrible. Did they give you any meds? The klonopin helped a lot while the celexa kicked in. I don't need the klonopin now. I have had no side effects either from the Celexa.
484508 tn?1290010544 I had no idea that testosterone replacement could cause anxiety. I took the stuff because I had anxiety, that Celexa had done a tremendous job of helping. I had to take a Klonopin last night because I was so anxious. I am pretty scared, because I can't have the pellets removed. Could this anxiety improve.?
1735424 tn?1357433558 I had some gastro pain a couple of weeks after vic was introduced (week 10), this resolved after a couple of weeks. HGB, Platelets, WBCs and ANC were all normal prior to tx and became quite low. Rescue drugs were necessary to keep going. I was in a trial and completed a 43 week tx 6 months ago. It was tough but ok as I pretty much expected. Good luck with your treatment, what week are you in?
Avatar f tn Daughter has been on Celexa for almost 6 weeks for depression and GAD that is causing physical pain. She has seen a very slight improvement but she still gets symptoms every day. Dr. thinks celexa should have "kicked in" by now and she wants to switch her to Cymbalta. Any Cymbalta users out there that can comment on your experience with this medication. I have read a lot of negatives on it and one reason that I like Celexa was that it seems to have relatively few side effects.
1345272 tn?1276400328 t personally recommend you stop taking Celexa but take both if you want to quit Celexa you must at least taper it slowly. Maybe switch Celexa to another SSRI like Lexapro or Prozac. The bad things you read about Wellbutrin are probably that it lowers the seizure's threshold and it is true but there should not be anything to be worried about if you are not suffering from epilepsy or taking the medication as indicated by your doctor.
1166402 tn?1303847056 Lexapro is a metabolite of Celexa... it's ''the new Celexa''. Supposed to have less side-effects for that matter. Just think of the tricyclic nortriptyline being the major active metabolite of amiltrityline which makes nortriptyline a second generation tricyclic.
222417 tn?1241564300 Hi Again. I was wondering if anyone on this board is on Celexa { Citalopram}. And could they tell me how it feels? I mean do you feel better? As I am supposed to start soon on this medication. Right now I am on Anafranil and klonopin. Dr has decided to try this medication to see if it will make me better because right now I am not. And also how long before I can take Celexa because I am still on Anafranil. I take 50mgs once a day in the night time.
396332 tn?1320003615 I was wondering for any of you that have ever taken celexa....Can you actually feel celexa or is it just like zoloft where you dont notice it at all. Also what are some side effects you experianced?
Avatar m tn I have been on Celexa 20mg for about 6 weeks. My doc has upped it to 30mg...what side effects should I expect?
4548569 tn?1356292637 I have been taking 20 milligrams of generic Celexa for about 4 months to treat anxiety and depression. I was apprehensive to try Celexa because I had heard so many bad things about it. However, within a short time after taking it I noticed a huge improvement in both my depression and anxiety. I am very happy with the Celexa. One problem I am having though is that I have changed as a person and I suspect it is from the Celexa.
Avatar m tn I have been on Celexa for about 5 years and went off it a month ago. Started not to feel right and resumed the dosage I had been on at 60mg. I became a nervous wreck (sweats, panic etc) and then i realized I probably should have started back at a lower dose. Would starting at 60mg after not using it for a month cause me to have these very nervous feelings?
Avatar f tn Hopefully someone will be able to help me with this. I've been on celexa for about 3 months started at 20mg now at 40 mg. I have been seeing a lot of benefits. However I used to be on cymbalta and no matter how much I went to the gym I couldn't lose weight. I am fixing to start working out again and trying to eat healthier. Does anyone know if celexa hinders weight loss with proper diet and exercise.
Avatar f tn I started taking celexa five days ago after going to my doctor for a f/u and completely breaking down bawling like a baby (my mom was just diagnosed with acute leukemia). On day two, I developed a severe headache and very stiff neck. I have had migraines in the past that originate in my neck/shoulder area. So, I thought I was getting a migraine like I've had in the past...I started doing all the things that have worked to relieve the pain before (massage, advil, heat, ice, rest, etc.
