So...I'm scared and sad and a bit at a loss. The weight continues to drop (indicated more by clothes fit than scale) and it seems to my eyes to be more muscle than fat. I continue to have nearly no interest in food and at this point, 2 drs are going to blame a nearly 30 lb weight loss on anxiety. Again...
m currently on Paxil and Xanax, and have been experiencing a complete loss of appetite most days. I started eating a few days ago, but I'm only on 10mg a day for the Paxil. It takes a while for stuff to kick in, but this med has made me lose 10 lbs in 2 weeks. When I was 14 (I'm now 25) I was put on Celexa, and I was on it for a couple of years. I remember the Dr. increased my dosage a few times, and eventually I felt like a zombie. And YES I did gain weight.

In addition, that blood work I mentioned...I was out of range for Lymphocytes and apparently, a fast is required prior go Lipase/Amylase testing. I was not told to fast.

I've been dealing with a "bout" of IBS for around 4 months now. During the first week I had NO appetite, meaning I choked down bites of food here and there. I dropped around 8 pounds. In the weeks that followed, I lost additional weight and,all told, I went from around 195 to 169 at my lowest point. Since my IBS diagnosis I've gained back a modest 6 or 7 pounds, but I at least seem to be holding.
Yes it is true that Cymbalta helps with pain, it is often used to help people coming off strong painkillers, I don't know the full details though.
It sounds like you have been prescribed the anti depressants to help with the anxiety, as they treat both.
ve been sleeping 8 hours. I also have an incredible loss of appetite. I just tried having a bowl of cereal and I could barely eat it. I'm only on 10 mg, and I also have Ativan (.5mg) which I take when I feel as though I need to, mainly before bed because recently I've had anxiety about not being able to sleep (I was having random heart palps right before I'd fall asleep).

how long before these go away this is day 10 well actually longer like 13 the celexa began to do the samething
Anxiety can cause a loss of appetite, but when you actually begin to lose weight and must force yourself to eat, it's time to see your doctor. Which you will be doing tomorrow and can discuss all your concerns with him at that time.
You didn't mention if you were on any medication for your anxiety, but some of the benzos and AD's out there do cause loss of appetite and weight. If you ARE on meds, a simple change may be all that is required to fix this.
Lack of appetite is normal. I had on and off with both of my pregnancies. Just eat small snacks throughout the day. Also if your Dr is not concerned about how big you are you likely don't have a problem. I didn't show till about 25 weeks and I only looked about 7 months pregnant when I was 9 and my MIL swore my son wouldn't even be 7 pounds but he was a full 8 Pounds 6 Ounces. A large part of it is how tall you are how you are built and how the baby is sitting.

Everyone around is asking me to ensure that I eat my full! Hope.the initial loss of appetite would not have affected the growth of the baby!
