Common Questions and Answers about Celexa joint pain

celexa

Avatar n tn I've been taking Celexa now for about 4 months, and I started experiencing "fibromyalgia-like" symptoms 2-3 months ago. All joints on both sides of my body hurt (especially my knees), and I too feel like someone is pricking me with a block of needles all the way across my shoulders. I have been researching fibromyalgia as well as googling "Celexa and joint pain" on the web, and I'm convinced that Celexa is the culprit. I just saw my psy.
Avatar f tn I've been taking Celexa for about 4 months now, and I'm thinking about stopping it. I've gained over 10 pounds, but the worse side effect I'm having is joint and muscle pain. The joint pain is keeping me from doing a lot of things I like or need to do. It started 2-3 months ago....just out of the blue. I've been off Celexa for the past 6 days because I ran out of it and had no refills--until I went to my psy. doctor and spent $90 for him to write me a prescription. (Ugh!

757527 tn?1237893063 I have been taking Trazadone and Celexa for several years and more recently, Protonix, for stomach pain/ possible ulcer. I am also using Aldera for an outbreak (first time) of genital warts. I went to my doctor several weeks ago complaining of severe lower abdominal cramping, epigastric pain after eating and pain in my upper right quandrant. No change in bowels I had a CT with contrast performed of my abdomen and pelvis.
603543 tn?1255294450 I don't blame you. I was put on celexia around September. it wasn't much different than you described. It made me worse too, plus I also noticed on a slightly higher, though still small, dose it would cause physical joint pain and just not feeling well. Icouldn't take the med much longer either, so I let the psychiatrist know and stopped taking it.
Avatar f tn I had great difficulty recovering from flu -- severe abdominal cramping, headache, joint pain, occasional chills/sweats - never had such a severe response to the flue before.. I realize this could be just the flu, but I began to wonder if my not taking the Klonopin was contributing to my poor recovery and the abdominal pain. I have decided to taper off, but I do not want to take a substitute rug lie valium.
Avatar f tn I have chronic pain due to degenerative joint disease and fibromyalgia that all started after a near fatal auto accident. I am currently on Celexa and Methadone and I have gained over 30 lbs. Will a combination of these 2 meds cause you to gain wight? I weigh more than I ever have and more than I did when I had my son. I used to have a really high metabolism. I had a hard time gaining enough weight when I was pregnant.
Avatar f tn I started taking celexa five days ago after going to my doctor for a f/u and completely breaking down bawling like a baby (my mom was just diagnosed with acute leukemia). On day two, I developed a severe headache and very stiff neck. I have had migraines in the past that originate in my neck/shoulder area. So, I thought I was getting a migraine like I've had in the past...I started doing all the things that have worked to relieve the pain before (massage, advil, heat, ice, rest, etc.

Avatar f tn I've been taking zoloft for the past 5 years and had had no negative effects up until about a year ago when I started smoking marijuana. I started smoking marijuana in september last year about a month after i had increased my Zoloft dosage to 125 mg. Since that September I have been a regular marijuana user due to its positive effects. I've been suffering from tremors after I smoke since about December.
Avatar m tn Sounds like a stronger pain medicine would help, and also I would go back to the doctor who hit a nerve and demand that he do something. Celexa is for arthritis pain, I'm surprised you're on this. Plus, Celexa has many side effects, which may be adding to your problems, I refused to take it. Can you tell me what type of kidney problems you have, and what is being done for it?
Avatar n tn They can enhance the effects of the opiates as well as treat the depression we so often develop with chronic pain. I assmue you mean celexa and bot selexa. Drug nanes can be difficult to spell correctly, at least for me they can be. First let me clarify that I am not a pharmacist, physician or and expert in medications. Avatar f tn I started having joint pain a couple of weeks after gall bladder surgery. It is continually getting worse and in my shoulders, wrists and right jaw. My left hip joint has gotten better. The pain hurts really bad at night when I am laying and try to move my arms. I am also having trouble chewing with my jaw in pain. I am 63 years old and a Real Estate Agent. I never had a pain at all until after the surgery. I have always been in good health and don't drink or smoke.

Avatar f tn I got diagnosed with hsv2 last fall. After continual outbreaks my doc finally put me on suppression therapy. I've had weight gain depression and now joint pain. It's a 6 month dose and one month to go. Does the joint pain go away after dosage is done? Does the weight come off? I exercise regularly and eat properly. Depression I know is a mental battle. I just don't like the joint pain as I'm trying to get this weight off.

Avatar m tn Hello Everyone, My concern is as follows: the only exposure I have is unprotected oral performed on other men. Since the beginning of the year i have been experiencing pain on my both knees that come and go and well, I'd like to know how does ars joint pain feel like. The doctor diagnosed some patellar disfunction but I doubt it, since I only started running last year and I read professional runners are those who get it. Or something.
Avatar m tn Alternatively, your physician might be able to recommend other treatments, possibly including injections into the joint itself or surgery, that can improve your joint pain.
Avatar f tn I have joint pain in my knees and elbows, weakness in knees after kneeling down and trying to stand up. I have numbness that comes and goes in my feet. My chemo/raidiation treatments ended a year ago. Are these aches and pains caused by the after effects of the drugs and radiation? I also have trouble taking antibiotics or pain meds. I seems to get every side effect listed. Alcohol of any type bothers me also. I use to enjoy a glass of wine but no longer.
