celexa generic name

We stopped the Celexa due to severe bruising and nose bleeds. Is it possible that I just having withdrawal from the Celexa or can it be the Generic Effexor. At this point in time I do not feel that I am incontrol and I do not feel "safe" being on my own. Any insight would be appreciated.

Not sure why your insurance company will not accept Lexapro. The cost difference between name brand Lexapro and name brand Celexa is nill.

celexa generic citalopram and brand name cipram in the the eastern countries is produced by the same Danish company which produces cipralex/lexapro/escitalopram. In different forums one finds many pts using it. it's weaker than lexapro, exactly half its therapeutic dose in maximum and minimum. BP pts take wellbutrin, celexa, lexapro in the majority of the cases. A few take seroxat/paxil to go with lamictal.

I have never had any luck when I have been placed on the generic brands of medications. Celexa especially; I was on it for 10 years, tried the generic several times and paid for it. 3. i was also on Lexapro, but it became expensive so I am on Celexa which is a sister medication to Lexapro. Celexa has a generic called Citalopram. However, you might need to take a higher dose of Celexa if it is a good idea for you to switch. Talk to your doc to make sure.....Just my thoughts.

One difference is that Celexa is available in generic form and Lexapro is not which means theoretically generic Celexa (generic form) should be less costly. Lexapro and Celexa are not interchangeable, and they are not approved for all of the same uses. Both are approved for the treatment of depression. However, only Lexapro is approved to treat anxiety.

Hely all I was on celexa 40 mg for around 6 months and my doc switched me to cymbalta celexa was an ssri and cybalta is an snri. I have no problem with the switch except cybalta doesnt come in generic which my insurance only pays for generic drugs but "effexor " does. has anyone have experience with effexor?

I agree with mammo, Citalopram which is the generic of Celexa is almost identical to Lexapro. Lexapro is just a newer version of Celexa. Stopping anti-depressants cold turkey can cause severe withdrawal symptoms. I took it for a while and it only cost 4$ at Target.

All the active ingreidents are the same but the fillers are different and have different side effects. I personally had an awful time with the generic and finally my insurance will pay for name brand.

Here's my question(s): You mentioned Effexor, which is an SSRI that I have never taken myself. Also, you mentioned Furosemide and WellButrin. Forgive my naivite' but aren't Furosemide and Wellbutrin two different medicines?... Or have they given Wellbutrin a generic name now? I can't keep up w/ all these new SSRI's anymore! LOL!

Is anyone getting ringing in the ears from taking Generic Wellbutrin(Bupropion sr ) 150 mg. Here is my situation I have been on amitriptiline 25 mg 4 years then went up to 50 mg for 3 years. I started taking only one 150 mg of bupropion sr this is my 5 day. Can I stop taking the amitriptiline with no withdrawls after only 5 days of Bupropion? or has it not been long enough. I hoping that I can stop the amitriptiline by taking the bupropion sr in place of the amitriptiline.

Once that rules out anything organic, then they truly need to help you with some anti-anxiety medication like Paxil (paroxetine is the generic name) or Prozac (fluoxetine is generic name), or Celexa (citalopram is generic name) or even Lexapro (escitalopram is generic name). Those are long acting anti-anxiety or anti0depressant medications. In addition to that, they should also give you a short term supply of some rapid acting anti-anxiety medication like Xanax, or Valium, or Ativan.

After taking Celexa (generic) for a little less than a year, I decided to quit cold turkey 2 weeks ago. Although I know weening from medication is the best idea, I wanted off Celexa quickly. I was prescribed 10mg citalopram (generic name for celexa) and that's exactly what happened to me. Not the headaches though. Food tasted like krap, I was feeling nauseous, could hardly eat anything without forcing myself and almost gagging. As soon as they started working on my moods after 6 days, all those symptoms disappeared. Just gone... Celexa adds to drying the body, so you need to drink even more water. I think that would maybe be able to take care of the headaches.

I have been taking 20 milligrams of generic Celexa for about 4 months to treat anxiety and depression. I was apprehensive to try Celexa because I had heard so many bad things about it. Under the generic Escitalopram0 (10 mg x 2 per day) he got headaches, dizziness, inability to focus the way he should, "fuzzy" feelings. The brand is $275 per month. I have also been on the 10mg Celexa (but the generic version) for just about three weeks. I started to feel like things may be slowly improving, but still wake up at night in a panic. The last three days all the side effects are back and today the anxiety seems higher. I am very frustrated and want to throw the pill bottle! I know our bodies just get used to some medinces and stop working but our bodies still need them to function. I am also concidering celexa (generic) that the doctor suggested. I take xanax on occation but try very hard to use it sparingly because I know it's addictive.
