Common Questions and Answers about Celexa generic brand

celexa

Avatar m tn We stopped the Celexa due to severe bruising and nose bleeds. Is it possible that I just having withdrawal from the Celexa or can it be the Generic Effexor. At this point in time I do not feel that I am incontrol and I do not feel "safe" being on my own. Any insight would be appreciated.
Avatar n tn Not sure why your insurance company will not accept Lexapro. The cost difference between name brand Lexapro and name brand Celexa is nill.
1325193 tn?1450127436 Anyway, in the middle of this I got switched to the new generic lexapro, not the celexa, but the new one. I post quite a bit in the addiction community, and they have heard this, but I have a question about this. With the 10 mgs of lexapro my anxiety was always kept in check and I felt pretty good. Now I am not sleeping, dry heaving every morning, not eating or sleeping. I was just wondering if you guys have heard anything about this new generic lexapro.
1134609 tn?1269272200 I have never had any luck when I have been placed on the generic brands of medications. Celexa especially; I was on it for 10 years, tried the generic several times and paid for it. 3. I have also been on Neurontin for the past 10 years. In a past post, I wondered if they decrease in dosage is what was causing me so many problems. However, I am back on the brand name of the medication and there's a HUGE difference between the two.
Avatar n tn I agree with mammo, Citalopram which is the generic of Celexa is almost identical to Lexapro. Lexapro is just a newer version of Celexa. Stopping anti-depressants cold turkey can cause severe withdrawal symptoms. I took it for a while and it only cost 4$ at Target.
950277 tn?1247274551 celexa generic citalopram and brand name cipram in the the eastern countries is produced by the same Danish company which produces cipralex/lexapro/escitalopram. In different forums one finds many pts using it. it's weaker than lexapro, exactly half its therapeutic dose in maximum and minimum. BP pts take wellbutrin, celexa, lexapro in the majority of the cases. A few take seroxat/paxil to go with lamictal.
Avatar f tn He acted like he didnt really care to hear about what I was going thru or why I wanted the anti-depressant. Anyway he gave me Celexa 40 mg. I got the generic brand filled which is called Citalopram. I was just wondering if anyone here has ever taken this medicine ??? Especially if anyone has taken it while they were on Subutex. I kinda got freaked out when I googled Celexa (Citalopram) Some people reported quite a few side effects that didnt sound so good.
176495 tn?1301280412 i was also on Lexapro, but it became expensive so I am on Celexa which is a sister medication to Lexapro. Celexa has a generic called Citalopram. However, you might need to take a higher dose of Celexa if it is a good idea for you to switch. Talk to your doc to make sure.....Just my thoughts.
Avatar n tn When it stopped being covered under brand name on our rx policy we switched to the generic. Under the generic Escitalopram0 (10 mg x 2 per day) he got headaches, dizziness, inability to focus the way he should, "fuzzy" feelings. The brand is $275 per month. If there is a natural compound or herb etc could you let us know. I always knew that certain generics would not work the same way. If the only choice is lexapro then that will have to be.
Avatar n tn One difference is that Celexa is available in generic form and Lexapro is not which means theoretically generic Celexa (generic form) should be less costly. Lexapro and Celexa are not interchangeable, and they are not approved for all of the same uses. Both are approved for the treatment of depression. However, only Lexapro is approved to treat anxiety.
1345272 tn?1276400328 All the active ingreidents are the same but the fillers are different and have different side effects. I personally had an awful time with the generic and finally my insurance will pay for name brand.
1119036 tn?1259534815 i am currently taking 1mg xanax 3 times a day i go to walgreens and they have the generic brand purepac and i have heard that greenstone brand is so much better i was just wondering if anyone had any feed back .......
1302779 tn?1287405029 Hely all I was on celexa 40 mg for around 6 months and my doc switched me to cymbalta celexa was an ssri and cybalta is an snri. I have no problem with the switch except cybalta doesnt come in generic which my insurance only pays for generic drugs but "effexor " does. has anyone have experience with effexor?
Avatar f tn Today I am experienceing very uncomfortable withdrawal symptoms. How long will this last? Is there a less expensive generic medication that I could take that would keep me from experiencing this withdrawal?
Avatar f tn I was on Celexa for a year and a half and did very well on it. It really gave me myself back. But I stopped taking it because it made me gain weight, which in and of itself was really depressing. The whole time I was on it, I exercised like a fiend and didn't eat that much. But it dramatically increased my craving for carbs, so I blew up like a mini whale, no matter how much I exercised. I've been off of it for more than a year, and still exercise like mad. But I cannot lose the weight.
874521 tn?1424116797 Your pharmacist will tell you which generic brand your taking. As far as I know only malikroft is allowed to make the generic form of oxycontin. When you get a generic your RX bottle will list the name brand and the generic name under it.
Avatar f tn Is anyone getting ringing in the ears from taking Generic Wellbutrin(Bupropion sr ) 150 mg. Here is my situation I have been on amitriptiline 25 mg 4 years then went up to 50 mg for 3 years. I started taking only one 150 mg of bupropion sr this is my 5 day. Can I stop taking the amitriptiline with no withdrawls after only 5 days of Bupropion? or has it not been long enough. I hoping that I can stop the amitriptiline by taking the bupropion sr in place of the amitriptiline.
Avatar f tn After taking Celexa (generic) for a little less than a year, I decided to quit cold turkey 2 weeks ago. Although I know weening from medication is the best idea, I wanted off Celexa quickly. I have had the usual withdrawal symptoms you'd expect (dizziness, nausea, headache, etc) but what I did not expect was the symptoms of restless leg syndrome. It is TERRIBLE. Is it possible to get RLS symptoms because of Celexa withdrawal or do you think it's unrelated?
Avatar n tn I have insurance and the copay on my generic script is usually about $2-4 for the whole month and the brand name was over $200 WITH insurance. Does anyone know of an insurance plan that covers these brand drugs to an affordable rate or any way to get a lower price on the brand name?
Avatar m tn ve been taking the generic for about a week until my new prescription for the brand name arrives. I have had diarrhea for two days. The only thing I've done differently is take the generic drug. Do you think this would be causing the diarrhea? If so should I just not take the medication until the correct prescription arrives?
Avatar n tn Protecting the brand has advantages over generic regarding consistency of levels. the generic is levothyroxine". Huh? What on earth does that answer mean? "Protecting"? "consistency of levels?" It sounds like he's saying that the Synthroid is preferable to the generic (but the same as Levoxyl)? Yes? If so, why would a brand name be better than a generic?
538782 tn?1213809348 t know whether to take the generic or name brand. Ive been taken the generic(clomiphene citrate) for the past two cycles with no luck.. Dr said he would rather me be on the brand name. It is more expensive. I don't know what to do. So If anyone is out there, please let me know before I go and pick up my rx in a few minutes.
