celexa dosage

When can I expect to feel positive effects from a dosage increase of an ssri? I have been on celexa for 8 weeks, slowly going up from 5 to 20 mg. I've been on 20 mg for 7 days and still feel anxious...how long does it take for a new dosage to yield positive effects?

I have been on Celexa for over a year and I lowered it to see if I could be ok (depression) without it. But my depression came back. So now I'm upping it back to the dose I was origionally on. It takes about a week for my body to adjust to any dose changes. Since I've been on my typical dosage since 3 weeks ago, I can rule out Celexa. My doctor does know about my Celexa. My first guess it the Birth Control.

I have been on Celexa 20mg for about 6 weeks. My doc has upped it to 30mg...what side effects should I expect?

He didn't really say much. Just upped my dosage of Celexa, gave me more ativan and ordered some blood work. I'm supposed to call my regular physician on Monday.

I am only on celexa since oct 26th after swiching from lexapro due to insurance. so it been a month! but i was on lex for 5 weeks before that. i feel good taking the klonopin in the morning at the same time as my celexa. im just wondering is the celexa supposed to work on my anxiety? just confused i guess?

I just started Celexa just over a week ago (2.5mg/day) Should I be taking the Celexa in the morning with my pancake or should I take the klonopin to calm myself down then take the Celexa with some food later? I guess what I am trying to figure out is if the Celexa is making my anxiety worse by taking it during my morning anxiety attack.. If anyone has some experience with this, I would love to hear from you.. I did try to bump up the Celexa to 5mg yesterday and had an upset tummy..

Can I just quit taking celexa cold turkey? I have been real tired and just not feeling like myself and I think its the celexa making me feel that way.

I realize the starting dose for Celexa is 20mg. and that the maximum dosage is 60mg. My son Todd was in prison for 5 yrs. Was given 100mg. of Celexa the 5 yrs. he was in prison. Asked the nurse at the counseling center he was going to, would the overdose by 40mg. for 5 yrs., cause my son to have any problems. The nurse told me that this extra 40mg. would not make a difference or hurt Todd. That it would just cancel itself out. I hope someone can prove me wrong on this.

I always notice side effects when I start, stop, increase dosage, or decrease dosage of SSRIs like Celexa. I think the most important thing to do is to stay in close contact with your doctor; which it sounds like you are doing. In the past, when I was bothered by withdrawals, I called and he put me on a slower taper, which seemed to work fairly well....keep us posted!

Medications will affect people in different ways, but I had an adjustment period when I first started taking an SSRI like Celexa. In my opinion, whenever you start, stop, or adjust dosage you will probably have some side effects. What time of day do you take the meds? For some, switching from night to morning can really help you while others prefer taking at night. So use extreme discretion if you choose to keep increasing your dosage of Celexa but personally I recommend you talk to your doctor about discontinuing the drug completely and asking about Lexapro. Hi there...I'm not a doc so I can't speak to the dosage of medication. I do think that if the Lexapro is going to start working it will be within this last 4 to 6 week period....so the next two weeks or so. Did you ask about possibly a low dose trarnquilizer like klonopin to help you while you figure out the lexapro vs. celexa thing?

My five year old daughter was put on celexa 2 days ago she is a very anxious little girl, since she started the medicine she seems to be even more nervous she acts like it actually speeds her up or something is this normal? Will she get better at focusing as the medicine is in her system longer?

My doctor has advised me to use the klonopin until the anti. kicks in. I have been on 20mg of celexa now for a week and he would like me to go up to 30mg soon. Been taking 30 mg of celexa for just over 4 weeks for anxiety....had dry mouth and a little fogginess for the first couple of weeks but that has worn off. I have just increased my dosage of celexa from 10 mg to 15 mg. I am really nervous and shaky and dont want to be around people. I can't sleep, i feel strung out, and am nauseous. My dr says to hang in there and keep taking it. I have heard that the anxious feelings are normal but I guess i just want some input. The anxiety isn't unbearable, should I just tough it out? The bad part is im supposed to go up to 20 mg in 3 days!

I found Celexa to numb feeling, more than it lifted them. I had to stop taking it because I turned into an icequeen and couldn't feel any emotions.

i have had problems with my anxiety being really bad this past year and he prescribed me on klonopin. so i take celexa 40 mg for depression and klonopin .5 mg 3 times a day and now im on a new med called vistaril 25 mg three times a day with the klonopin. is this safe? i feel like im taking too much? please help!!! thanks!
