I've been experiencing hair loss and noticeably slower hair growth, I have GAD and PTSD, the hair loss is merely aggravating my anxiety. What should I do ?
I am now on Celexa and my hair is starting to fall out. It is very disappointing. I wish I could do without an antidepressant, but I know that I have Unipolar/Bipolar II disorder and without medication I have an extremely difficult time. It was suggested to me to try adding Selenium and Zinc to cope with hair loss. I did find this helped, though not enough to justify staying on any of the above medications.
m currently on Paxil and Xanax, and have been experiencing a complete loss of appetite most days. I started eating a few days ago, but I'm only on 10mg a day for the Paxil. It takes a while for stuff to kick in, but this med has made me lose 10 lbs in 2 weeks. When I was 14 (I'm now 25) I was put on Celexa, and I was on it for a couple of years. I remember the Dr. increased my dosage a few times, and eventually I felt like a zombie. And YES I did gain weight.
t go back to him for three months. I would like to know how to tapper off the Celexa and with me getting off of that and with the help of my thyroid medication will I start to lose weight ( I have not lost ANYTHING since I started my thyroid medication and I am dieting and exercising!!). I go on vacation in two months I would love to lose at least 10pounds although, that isn't even close to what I need to lose.

At the time, I was taking wellbutrin and celexa. I began taking notes on the events, and found that when I became agitated, irritated by people, that is experiencing negative emotions, THAT was when these episodes begin. Once, when my celexa ran out and it was a week before I could refill it, I noticed the intensity of these episodes was greatly reduced.
I know a lot of people that have went through a major move, job loss, or divorce and it has caused them a lot of anxiety symptoms that they can not handle. In my case I have taken Celexa 2 times in the past and after a month or so it helps. I wish I didn't need medication, but without I don't how long I would have lost my appetite and not slept well.
My daughter started going to phychiatrist(she just turned 18 she was on 40mg of prozac) he put her on valium 5mg,celexa60 mg and and 100 mg of wellbutrin what is this combination usually treat? She has some aniexty and depression ?Her hands shake after wellbutrin,but doctor said to try and see if it subsides after body gets use to it.Please let me know if this combination is used alot?
I was on celexa 40mg for 4 years and it didn't work that much for me. I never felt normal like myself, and didnt enjoy doing thing. So i tappered of off that a week ago with guidance. I started Lamictal 12.5 mg today (11/6/13), have to go very slow on the increase dosage to avoid deadly rash. But i am feeling itchy all over my body and face and have light headache. But no rash yet. Did anyone took Lamictal for anxiety and depression? Did it work,and how soon did it started working?
t on it at all, the only bad side effect was loss of sex drive and libido etc. no weight gain or loss that i noticed. I have bipolar 1, and was on other medication at the time. as you probably know everyone is different when it comes to these types of medication so please don't be discouraged by my comment. My dad was on it for 10 years and said it was the best thing he had ever tried for depression.
I just realized that when I took the cortisol test I was going through withdrawal from Antidepressants and was always in a panic state (I reinstated on Celexa and tapering really slow with liquid now. No withdrawal so far) . Before I tried to get off Celexa I had major fatigue and all the signs of adrenal fatigue for years.
I have noticed through the years a mild form of OCD behavior such as repetitive handwashing, walking on certain ceramic tiles in the kitchen, and preoccupation with his hair etc.. nothing that was life altering. He has a girlfriend and is in a gifted program in school. He came to me recently saying he has difficulty focusing in school the slightest noise distracts him and his mind wonders in class. I am his mother and have struggled with the same issues.
It like many other anti depressents have side effects to include a chance of memory loss but you have to weigh the therapeutic benefits of the medicine against the symptoms of your depression. Also depression itself can cause memory loss and I know for a fact and personal experience that it lowers your concentration which, to me, is one of the worst parts about being depressed.
I just finished Sovaldi and olysio and no hair loss at all, in fact hair looked great
I do have hypothyroid which is familial, mother , daughters have it,
Check your thyroid levels
That can effect hair loss, dryness etc( even my eye brows and under arms thinned from hypothyroidism )
You may need to be on thyroid medication such as synthyroid if it is off
