I was on Flexeril and Celexa for a very long time. I recently started a new diet, and cellular cleansing. Making my body very sensitive to medications. After 2 trips to the ER, and test all normal. So I looked up the medications and their reactions in combination. I realized my bp was dropping and my heart beat irregularity was caused by the medications. There’s no other explanation. I am very upset with the fact that not 1- of my doctors, ever mentioned this.
One has to wonder why I quit the Celexa-because we wanted to try and get pregnant, and you can't be on that medication if pregnant. And before all of this, if I DID have any anxiety, it wasn't noticeable to me. The anxiety I have felt did not start until these "symptoms" appeared, which was weeks after I stopped taking the Celexa.
I’ve been prescribed the following over the years; Zoloft, Paxil, Xanax, Celexa, Lexapro, Effexor XR, Flexeril and there was one other that I can’t remember the name of when I was a child, but I only took it for approximately one month because it caused me to lactate. The most recent medication I took was the Celexa.

I am asking because i am hanving jaw tension and pain now and want to take the flexeril but i am afraid it might trigger my hyop tyroidism.
My big fear is epilepsy Oxy use to make me shake and bite my tongue but since i been on 200mg Lamictal it has stopped I read Flexeril may cause seizure but then I also read the opposite.
Even if I am not epileptic I like to play it safe as my Doc is out, and the pharmacy worker never seems to know anything.
So does Flexeril increase seizure risk or is that just for (diagnosed) epileptics?
I don't want to add it to the oxy and have a attack.
I been taking flexeril for years because of muscle pain due to Lupus and for the last 2 months have been being treated for severe indigestion as a side effect of the med Verapimil. I was wondering if the flexeril could relax the sphincter muscle that is involved in GERD? Please give me any ideas or info you might have regarding if the flexeril would be contraindicated due to the GERD situation? Thanks, God bless!
My back is really bothering me!! Hurts so bad and can't relax for anything!! I'm 35 weeks and really want to! Has anyone taken a muscle relaxer or even a half of one?
I've had bad lower back, tailbone, and pelvic pain. My doctor prescribed flexiril and pain meds. I take them as needed, I usually take half of a muscle relaxer though cause they make me so sleepy!
Blood work revealed low Vit D and Calcium levels, told to up vit D and Calcium intake. Fibro meds include Voltarin, Flexeril, Celexa and HCTZ for BP. ENT visit is sched for upcoming Monday. Questions...will they do a FNA biopsy right then and there? Pain with that? CT results are as follows:1.1 x 1.0 cm heterogeneously enhancing nodule is present in the lower pole of the right thyroid lboe. The midportion of the right thyroid lobe also enhances heterogeneously.
a little more info but the short answer is yes with a prescription and yes if it is available in the home and yes from friends. Do you take flexeril? Who suggested it? What does your child need it for?

Hi, my husband is disabled with chronic severe back/leg/hip pain from multiple failed surgeries and and one of his pain management meds is Flexeril, that Clean mentioned. He too gets wicked muscle spasms and takes the Flexeril for that. It helps him. I am an opiate addict (for effect) but do get bad lower back pain at night, probably from carrying 60 pounds on my small frame during pregnancy...and I am getting older.
You are right, certain medications particularly muscle relaxants and antichlinergics, interfere with the results of EMG like baclofen and flexeril or cyclobenzaprine that you are taking. It would be prudent to apprise your neurologist of all the medications you are on, so that the EMG results are appreciated in that light. Muscle biopsy can be taken up after an EMG. Consult your neurologist for his preferences and expertise. Take care.
CeleXa inhibits reuptake allowing more seratonin to be left in the synaptic gap causing the threshold for the nerves firing to be techniquelly less because less has to be delivered for the spark to occur since more is already there and available. I have smoked M. for 2 years and recently started CeleXa. The only thing ive noticed thus far is that I am less affected by the M. now that I am on CeleXa.
I went to see my pcp and I also got blood work done. It appears my wbc was decreased. I researched the web and found that Flexeril and Benadryl, two meds I’ve been taking since I started working nights and my back pain became unbearable can cause low wbc. I’ve stopped taking both and I am starting to feel better but not back to myself yet and it’s already been 2 weeks since I stopped. I’m guessing this meds are still in my body. I plan to repeat my lab work in a few months.
Im not taking soma, but i am taking flexeril which is also a muscle relaxer. and instead of Zoloft i am taking Celexa which is also an antidepressant and anti anxiety. I also have xanax but only take when i need it. My problem is that I have no pain at all. Just severe weakness and some preasure in my upper jaw. Sometimes I just get this general ill feeling. but it only lasts for a few seconds but get it quite a bit.
