Welcome to the board. Congrats to you at 5 weeks. That is so great. There is a women from UK named Minnie and she went through the tramadol withdrawals. I am sure she will answer any questions. Google PAWS and it will give you an idea regarding the way you feel right now. Try to take it day by day. Do you take aminos??? I have been taking them for energy. I have Amino 1000 and purchased it at GNC. I also take B6 and B12 and potassium. You will find much support on this board.
I have rheumatoid arthritis in my back dont know what A/s is. I had back pain for years.tried physical therapy, all the celebrex and anti inflammatory pills even magnets I have hepc from a blood transfusion(really) & when I went thru the chemo treatment my arthritis flared to the point could get up some days. Long story found a doc who gave OXY 3 years ago. they didn't make drowsy they picked me up and controlled the pain. Now no pills and got to figure out how to get to work.
After I finished the project in mid-may, I decided that I needed to stop using a drug to get through the day, so I tried to just stop taking it. WOW! Serious withdrawal symptoms including joint and muscle pain, stomch issues, fatigue, depression and a strange hollowness in my nerves ensued. I didn't feel I could just stop functioning for a week or two or whatever it would take, so I used some hydrocodone that I had to help me get my tramadol use down to 100mg per day over the course of a week.
i ve been taking percocet 5/325 about 6-8 pills a day i can't get my script for 2 more days i took my last half of one this am, only took 4 yesterday how bad will i have withdrawal symptons i have some neurotin will that help , i also have motrin 800 mg. i am so scared i don't want to get sick anyone have any answers.,. this next perscription was going to be the last and then my dr. was going to get me off. but my back went out a few weeks ago and i took more percs than i was suppose to.
I am going to print off the codeine withdrawal forum for her. She has already indicated to me that she does not want to pursue methadone as a tapering alternative, so I am just trying to reach out for any available info/experience relating to a similar problem with pain management. Thank you for your reply.
I've been doing a fast taper and experiencing withdrawal like cold turkey. (not a novice) My question is what works best for the pain in my neck and head? I do not have access to excedrine and live 30 minutes away from a store which sells herbal remedies. It's a burning pain. I have nabumatone and baby aspirin as well as ibuprofen and celebrex. I alao considered imitrex. Any advice is truly appreciated. I am drinking water and Gatorade.
Ultram (tramadol) can be used too but it is an opiate as well, so just trading one dependence for another. Celebrex is great for arthritis but is ridiculously expensive. I'm not a medical professional. Try some alternative means if you're open to them. I've had a lot of relief through naturopathic pain relievers and kinesiology, but still use some meds. I couldn't do the CT either. Keep trying to reduce the intake amounts, but increase the frequency so the detox isn't so bad.
But, call the drug company that makes this drug and ask them if there have been sufficient studies done on patients taking this and another drug like Vioxx, like Cymbalta, Celebrex, Boniva. What about a diabetic? Can they take this w/ the new drug while being on insulin? There are no studies on how these drugs interact w/ each other and the efficacy. We are the studied ones. And that is scary to me.
If you want to start another SSRI (instead of continuing the Paxil), maybe it would help to start it sooner rather than later - I know that my dr suggested that I take a low dose of Prozac when I get down to a very low dose of Paxil because it can ease the withdrawal symptom from Paxil - and because of Prozac's long half-life - it doesn't cause many withdrawal problems itself.
I am regretting that decision now!! My withdrawal symptoms seem to be a general unwell feeling, lack of appetite, thirsty alot, raised temperature from the skin (not fever though) but inside I feel so cold, and to add to it now, I have just gone through the entire night without even a minutes sleep (and it isn't through lack of trying!!) and of course, pain....my pain in my back and down my leg has appeared, but i guess thats what the tramadol has been treating. I don't know what to do!
Hi, here it is again, a re post of my conditions, medications, drugs abuse and withdrawal effects. I'm 50 years old and suffer from depression, anxiety and schizoid personality. Also from diabetes type II, arrhythmia and migraines. For my conditions I take Imitrex 100mg,Depakote ER 500 mg,Digoxin 0.25mg,Seroquel 100 mg, Fortamet 500 mg and Wellbutrin 150 mg. I also use Ambien 12.5 mg to sleep.
It's been only 13 hours since I last used norco and I'm not feeling as terrible as I thought I would. A few days ago I ordered WITHDRAWAL EASE. Guys, it's amazing. These natural amino acids, vitamins, and herbs are helping with my anxiety, aches and pains, energy... everything. I still have yawning, watery eyes, goosebumps, anxiety, and really foggy, confused mind. BUT I'M NOT DYING! I know the worst has yet to come and I'm expecting to get very little sleep tonight.
If only I could keep the symptons of withdrawal in a pocket...so that I never forget how awful it feels. The pain in my all my muscles feel like tight rubber bands that are going to snap in any minute. The stomach cramps and chills/sweats, etc. Now comes the hard part..the mental acceptance..I'm very depressed right now...and just keep reading these pages of testimony to keep me going...to keep me sane. I tried to contact NA in Bergen County New Jersey...
I was perscribed several anti-inflamms and pain management type meds including Celebrex,Torodol, Keflex, and others along with many hours of physio. The effects of the various meds either prevented me from performing my job and daily activities or had little or no effect at all. After about 18 months and research, I requested and was put on Fentanyl 25mcg patch/every 72 hours. About a year ago, the dosage was increased to 50 mcg/72 hours, then 50mcg/48 hours.
Welcome Everyone!
I have watched and assisted aprox 25 people go through tramadol withdrawal. Though we did use another medication to assist them, withdrawal from anything physically addictive is pretty ugly regardless of how you go about it. Please allow me to offer some thoughts that occured to me while reading your posts. FIRST: Theres a lot of conflicting information about seizures on the list. I've never seen anYone have a seizure in tramadol WITHDRAWAL.
Hello Everyone! Well done! Well Played! Welcome to a New Thread!
I guess I feel it really is not affecting my life until now with this oxy withdrawal. My codeine withdrawal was a piece of cake. I'm not sure what to do.
but I cant because there is absolutely no reason to go through the agony of withdrawal.. trust me I have Had my share of Withdrawals (heroin, methadone ,oxy's etc... .Its a thing caclled "TAPERING" buprenex is wonderful virtually painless, the only thing is if you dont have insurance,it can be quite expensive.. but probablly nothing compared to what most of you were spending on your daily habit, which is all it is..
I also read about drug withdrawal from the opiate's, use xanax during withdrawal it will ease the symptom's of withdrawal. any advice is appreciated!
Then a week of bad withdrawal. Even Celebrex gives me insomnia if I take it for 4 days in a row. I seem to be reacting to a lot of the drugs and getting the lesser side effects.
I was on Celebrex 200 mg daily, my pain clinic dr also wants to add Cymbalta 30 mg for 7 days then 60 mg. My husband and I want to have children but are not activly trying at this point, it happens when it happens. I just want pain to stop or at least elevate more. SHould I take both together. My OB said it should be ok, My neuro dr said give it a try but pain clinic dr said don't. What should I do? I have taken it for 3 days now. I also have PCOS.
I was previously on Celebrex (200mg QD) for ganglionic cysts on both my wrists for duration of 2 weeks. I stopped taking the celebrex because I felt like they were doing nothing and I didn’t want to destroy my GI tract. I was also on vanlafaxine XR 75mg QD for over a year, but I stopped taking the pills because of the ADR’s, specifically prolonged time to ejaculation and decreased libido.
Have you tried Celebrex instead of the other anti-inflammatories? Since Celebrex is a Cox2 not a Cox1 and 2 it doesn't ruin your stomach like the others. But, I still get some stomach pain and I take a Zantac with it every time and for a couple weeks after getting off of it. Maybe you can try something like Neurontin or Lamictal? I don't know if this would help since it is for nerve pain. It helped my back pain some but not when it was severe. I hope you get better soon.
It is like an aura or wavy moving lines that last about a half hour and are in each eye. Has anyone had this from Neurontin (or Celebrex). I am tapering off of Neurontin for that reason and would like your opinion as to how to get off of it will less side effects. I am at 500mg now per day. I am now trying 100mg per week as I get ill feeling, insomnia and anxiety. What do you all normally do?
Your dose of the hydromorphone is relatively low - especially since you say some days you only need to take one tablet. At one point (after shoulder replacement surgery) I was on 8mg every 4 hours! There's still a chance of w/d symptoms since you've been on the medication for a couple of years, even at a low dose - every person is different as to how their body reacts when a medication is stopped.
I'm going on almost 24 hours and doing okay. Taking Advil and Celebrex for any pain - but other than that, trying to keep busy. I have a huge exam to study for (professionally for my job - not for school) and am trying to concentrate on that. I telecommute at home on Friday's - thus, it's a good day to start without the Vicodin and see if I have any of the side-affects from withdrawal. I've noticed some weepiness - but maybe that's just cuz I'm a sap - not sure.
I have taken hydrocodone for 15 years and the withdrawal is to hard for me to do cold turkey. I feel I should wait until after my next surgery is over but I am also tired of being dependant. I take 5 to 6 pills a day. I do not get high from them. It only keeps me from hurting so I can work. I have been trying to ween myself off but its hard. one leg is 1.25 inches shorter which causes severe back pain. I feel worthless and took effexor which also has a high addition too..
