Common Questions and Answers about Celebrex forum

celebrex

Hi Suzieq263. Welcome to the forum. Celebrex has the potential for FATAL cardiovascular disease in large doses, so minimum doses are strongly recommended, specially if one's weight is low or if it's for a child. What is your daily intake presently? Instead of higher dose, you may want to explore other safer options for symptom management.
Does anyone take celebrex?I started Prozak last week and they want me to take celebrex too. They say my liver can take it, (stage 2 fibrosis). But I am afraid of the NSAIDs in celebrex, any one else taking it? Oh, I am on Methadone too. I am having my first liver biopsy in the morning, so I will find out more about my liver. I am scared to death about it coz I have had so many problems lately.
Hello Scscscsc, Welcome to the Pain Management Forum at MedHelp. I am sorry you are having such tiredness. Have you been on these meds for very long? I don't know the dosages you are taking but put all together they can make you feel a bit tired. Usually with time this side effect will ease. Our bodies usually adjust to the medications. Cymbalta really put me in a bit of a stupor. It may be your combination that is effecting you.
I had lumbar spine fusion six weeks ago and am in PT. Still some pain so am taking 3 Ultracet tabs per 24 hours with pretty good pain relief except following 30 minutes on the treadmill and various muscle building exercises and stretches. To calm down those muscles following exercises and stretches I would like to take one 200mg Celebrex daily but one drug interaction cite suggests "Moderate" drug-drug issue involving CYP450 2D6, which means nothing to me.

Lots of people have helped me on this forum, and I am very grateful to everyone for their help. In the meantime, I have a new question. I have a chronic back pain problem, DDS, SI joint disease, bad hips, and herniated disks. I have been taking Methadone since 2003-2004 ( Methadone makes your brain foggy among other things....) and it does nothing for other pains. At one time I was on Viox and then Bextra and they were both taken off the market. My dr.
Before diving into another invasive procedure, I visited a pain management doctor. ONE of the many things we did was try Celebrex. Now I was very skeptical as it had done nothing prior to surgery. But once my spondy was fixed I though - let's try it again. I have to happily report that this NSAID really did work. So much so I was able to lay off the Vicodin and/or Norco as a supplement to "stay ahead of the pain".
celebrex and hep c Forum: The Hepatitis Forum I have hep c and cirrohsis, I am currently taking celebrex for my arthritis. I have gotten "mixed" messages on if I should be taking this medication. Will it (celebrex) hurt my liver? Thank you Carol. Follow Ups: Re: celebrex and hep c HFHSM.D.-D.M.
) I thought I would ask this forum and see if anyone has had any experience taking Celebrex while taking 6-mercap for autoimmune hepatitis. I am so tired of the knee pain and the excessive aching of my joints and really need to get back to some form of exercise! Thanks for any info. I understand from reading some of the posts, there aren't many of us with AIH. I was diagnosed one year ago.
My understanding is that the new drug Celecoxib or Celebrex might be very useful in helping relieve his knee pain, but I understand that the use of aspirins and other NSAIDS is not recommended for those on coumadin. Do you know if this new drug, Celebrex, is different than aspirin & other NASIDs, such that it could be taken if closely monitored/watched. Also, are there any studies, other than perhaps what the drug company undertook, indicating problems with this combination?
The only way you will be able to determine the cause is to first stop the neurontin and if that doesn't help then stop the celebrex. Even if there are studies that idicate the celebrex could be a factor it will be difficult to prove. Only a trial off will add credence to your argument. It's hard to say if any damage could be done - the answer these is yes, possibly but you need an ophthalmologist in your are to consult with and be examined by.
Hello all you forum members! I hope you all had agreat 4th of July..... This can just be an open space for anyone wishing to ask any questions.... Have a greaat weekend, All!
Hello and welcome to the Fibromyalgia/CFS forum on MedHelp. This forum is a place for people to come and share experiences with FMS and CFS. Some of you may have a diagnosis from your doctor, some of you may be seeking an answer for undiagnosed symptoms and some of you may be a relative or friend of one who is suffering. This is a great place to learn more and to gain support from others who suffer as well.
I am sure this will get moved or I will get in trouble for posting it on this forum, but I posted on the ortho forum and it doesn't get near as much traffic. I was hoping that some of my addict friends could offer some insight on a situation that is really bothering me when my life is going so great. So, here we go. For the past 2 months, my knee has been slowly getting worse. It started with a little ache in the knee, but now it is to the point that it keeps me up all night.
Can I take Rabaprazol and Celebrex together? I have been having a lot of aches and pains and I’m on Rabaprazol for indigestion and wonder if Celebrex could be taken with it?
She said it wouldnt, an when I went back to her...she said-we'll how about just the Celebrex? It wont take her away....that means the Abilify would have!!!! SHES A LIAR!!!!....right?
Do you have a BP monitor at home? Check your BP while on Celebrex. My husband is on Celebrex for the last 4 yrs and it doesn't effect his BP at all. Me however, I cannot take Aleve, Advil and the other stuff my BP shoots up 30 points, sometimes even higher. I never took Celebrex because I figured if Aleve or Advil make my BP go up something stronger than Celebrex would make it go up for sure.
What could I take for severe knee pain. I know it is arthritis.I take Celebrex and two Tylenol. This does not help.
Hi piperbaby, First, I want to welcome you to the PM (Pain Management) Forum and let you know that we are glad you found this Forum. We are all CP (Chronic Pain) Patients that help each other with our own expertise and experiences that we have developed through our own CP Issues. I'm assuming that the same Doctor gave you both of these medications. Is that correct? If he/she did then what were the instructions that he/she gave you?
The doctor told me that if I were to fall that I would surly break a hip it is that bad. I have alot of pain but I dont want the narcotics.. He gave me Celebrex but I have severe acid reflex disease that I had to have surgery for and the celebrex makes me feel like I am a fire breathing dragon. As a nurse I am on my feet all day long which makes me hurt so very badly at the end of the day. Does anyone have any suggestions on what else is out that I can try so that I dont hurt.
Do some reading in these archives and also on THE PAIN MANAGEMENT FORUM...there are many who have same issues, some the injections have WORKED for and some have NOT...go on the forum and do alot of searching before coming to any decisions, good luck. Also are you on NSAIDS? this would help with the pain associated with the arthritis and inflammation...
Hi Blitz, Welcome to the Pain Management Forum. I am glad that you found us and took the time to post. I assume the same Physician prescribed the Cymbalta and the Celebrex. They are two very different medications. Your best bet is to consult your Pharmacist, they are the true experts in medications and their interactions. I do know many ppl that take these meds together but I am not comfortable saying this will be alright for you too.
And have been for a little over a month now. However my Dr is now giving me celebrex and it isn't working and I am scared that I am building up a tolerance to pills. Should I go a week and be miserable and then try the celebrex? My body hurts so bad I can't even move some days and I have 5 kids with the youngest being 2 yrs old.
Had a Big Mac, fries and coffe followed by a healthy helping of cake. Doctor had put me on celebrex, one pill a day and it seems to be working. Felt truly alive for the first time in weeks. My only medicine now is celebrex, extra strength Tylenol as needed and my asthma medications and eye drops. The next few days will tell whether or not I have finally "Made the grade," so to speak. I sincerely wish the same for all who are here. Even if this is a success I am not going anywhere.
While naproxen and motrin are non-steroidal anti-inflammatories,(NSAIDs), flexeril and somas are muscle relaxants- they are sesigned to do specifically this. Celebrex is an NSAID that is more like Mobic, someone in the forum just got on celebrex not that long ago, I apologize I cannot remember who. You might want to post and ask. Chrosty will be at work all day but usually gets on at night, she just got her rx yesterday xoxo-D.

I started on Celebrex on Sunday. I take it every afternoon at the same time. I have not noticed any difference. I had read that it should only take "a few days" for it to start working. I'm not sure how long I should give it? Admittedly, I was not happy to be starting it in the first place, so my gut reaction is to only give it a week, and stop it if it doesn't seem to be working. The thing that seems to be working the most is my nighttime dose of gabapentin.
You posted your email addy a few threads ago. Is it ok to email you off forum? I was wondering if you would look at my blood tests results for me as I have a couple of questions about them. Thanks for your time.
I am taking prednisone, Celebrex, and Plaquenil. My doctor wants me to take Methotrexate, but I don't want to take it as it is very hard on the liver. I don't know if I should see a different specialist, and if so, what type of specialist. Any suggestions?
