While my sciatica (and I am assuming it IS sciatica) started with the usual symptoms - pain in the lower back shooting down my leg to my knee - the symptoms have evolved into something new for me. Most of the lower back pain is gone, but the inside and front of my left leg is now so tender, wearing pants hurt. At night, moving the sheet causes pain as it moves over my leg.
I don't think it should be an issue, I took Celebrex and Morphine for an extended time with no issue. Ask your doctor about any concerns though.
I went to my doctor and he gave me an ekg and everything was normal. I told him that I had recently taken up mixed martial arts and I had been training harder than usual to get into better shape. He said that I likely sprained a chest muscle based on his physical exam. He gave me celebrex to reduce inflamation. I returned a week later because I started to feel a slight shooting pain in my legs (mostly the right).
My two daughters take Celebrex as a person would take Advil here or there and do fine with it .. they both cannot take ibuprofen. My son cannot take it since birth as he gets bad reflux from in ..
They make custom made ibuprofen suppositories if you really need a NSAID but cannot do it by mouth and they are wonderful .. you need a compounding pharmacy but my co pay was only $8.00!
Has anyone used Celebrex for their Crohn's? I have severe joint point pain and I have been told that Celebrex is a huge help for this. I am wondering about side effects and medicine interactions.
She is 64 but she also has osteoporosis and arthritis in her lower back. The back doctor just prescribed Celebrex, is this the safest drug for her? Also what should people with Hep C do to better care for their liver eventhough so far she seems to have a healthy liver. For the osteoporosis she is on Fosamax. She has been on it for several years. I am just afraid that too many potent drugs can be harmful for her liver.
Hey Hopey. I was just prescribed Celebrex too!! I'm very anxious to see how well it helps b/c i have constant back pain and have tried several meds that haven't given ANY relief. I started the Celebrex today, 600 mgs. And will take 400 mgs/day after today. The dr DID say it can take a few days to start feeling relief from it.
I have been on methotrexate and celebrex for at least 15 years, probably long. I am currently in a tremendous amount of pain in my fingers, elbows, shoulders, left knee and left hip. Volteran gel has not helped at all and neither has Aleve. Can I take tramadol with these two drugs? I have recently switched my insurance and am waiting to get into a new rheumatologist.
t really that affective for me but my insurance made me try practically every NSAID on the market before they would approve Celebrex. They denied Celebrex and even recommended a PPI (ulcer med) to take with the NSAID's because they didn't want to pay for Celebrex. After they denied me 4 or 5 times, they finally approved it. So now I take 400mg of Celebrex a day and it's a lot more effective than any other NSAID i've been on.
I get some nerve pain in my glute and shocks in my calf Muscle pain on top of thigh inside/outside the pelvic bone and the sacroiliac. Most is deep and achy in the groin, stinging pain on the inside of the thigh little outside
I am seriously depressed 9 out of 10 ceased all my sports medication worked very poorly for me.
Noone listens to me, I've simply stopped eating.
Is it necessary to know if the problem is FNSF or Chondroma?
Hi Jackie, No I wasn't particularly constipated on those levels, although I wasn't particulrly regular either. The 5 months I was 'euthyroid' inbetween RAI and tending hypo were wonderful - great energy, regular bowels. I fully intend to get there again!!
Does anyone take celebrex?I started Prozak last week and they want me to take celebrex too. They say my liver can take it, (stage 2 fibrosis). But I am afraid of the NSAIDs in celebrex, any one else taking it? Oh, I am on Methadone too. I am having my first liver biopsy in the morning, so I will find out more about my liver. I am scared to death about it coz I have had so many problems lately.
No, it would be unheard of for Celebrex to damage your heart valve. Celebrex and similar drugs do cause high blood pressure in many individuals, though.
You might have gone forever and not known about the heart valve if you had not gotten high blood pressure from the Celebrex. Follow whatever advice the cardiologist gave you, and don't worry.

I'v had pain in my buttock, sharp pain, does not go down leg but have buzzing and numbness in leg. The pain only lasts for a few short minutes then goes away. It was only for a day, and then disappeared. I've had this pain before and thought it may be positional and attributed it to sciatica but now I'm wondering if it really is. Isin't the sciatic nerve low to be affected by an MS lesion on the spine?
Another problem that started following the back problems, surgery, and added meds (Lyrica, Vicodin, Celebrex, Flexeril) is that my scalp and eyebrows have also gotten worse. I now have very severe dandruff, with scabs on my scalp, and my hair has begun to thin--my eyebrows are nearly as bad as my lashes. I don't know if any of this is related, but it has made me very self-conscious about it and everything I do does not help.
hi i have arthritis and i have had 4 joints totally replaced and i am only 35 with no kids. i am having so severe side effects from my med mainy celebrex i have had an heart test and was seen as early polarization , diagnosed with chronic gastrointestinal reflux and have skin rash and legions . i am thinking of a claim against them . but in the main time i dont want my doctors to feel bad as they have been with me since my early twenties.
I have the same problem with my shoulder and did the steroid injection and am on celebrex. I completely understand your fears. I also didnt want to take the celebrex at first because of the scary side effects but in the end the benefits out weigh the risks. You need an antiinflammatory to speed the healing. It won't be needed long term.

Celebrex is a NSAID... for some it may be ok and others not..largely depends on the condition of your liver and other health factors that the prescribing doctor should be aware of ... here is a past discussion on pain meds.
