Celebrex and gas

Common Questions and Answers about Celebrex and gas

celebrex

Quite a conumdrum... Both Celebrex and Hydrocodone have a side effect of promoting gas. However, having said that, there is still a possibility of the types of foods being eaten (gassy vegetables for instance), how well chewed the food is, or how spicy it is... The fact that as we age we don't digest like a 20 year old because we're not as active, what we drank along with our meals....
take aciphex daily which is very expensive and bentyl 3 times a day for bloating and still can not manage the gas and bloating I also take a lot of gas-X with little help. Milk seems to help some all other tests have come back negative. When I was first diagnosed with IBS/D it was called spastic colon if that makes a difference for those that don't know IBS/C is with constipation IBS/D is with diarrhea.
The only two definite diagnosis she has gotten in over a year were Temporal Arteritis (which was wrong and caused her more pain because of the biopsy) and the gas embolism. She is suffering and I am becoming more and more discouraged by the medical profession in general, not to include you as I am sure you are trying to help but you can only do so much without seeing her. She has tried to get into Mayo Clinic but they turned her down.
I am becoming somewhat frustrated with the way a lot of my colleagues practice medicine. Disenchanted, angry would be the other words that could be used. We all get ostensibly that same training and all of us are supposedly in it to help our patients. So, how come have I been getting so many letters lately on my addiction forum from desperate people unable to quit taking the tramadol pills that their own kind doctors have so freely prescribed for them?
Hi, I am experiencing lots of muscle pain and muscle twitching all over/specially my legs. Is anyone else experiencing this with hashimoto?
I was a very healthy person. The pain began in my lower back and progressed to all my joints and entire back. When my dermatologist learned of my problems, she stopped the Accutane immediately. She stated back pain was a side effect. I read all the info before taking Accutane, and it never described these symptoms in 2001. When I was 30 years old, I had back surgery and it destroyed my back.
The only reason I am able to make it this time is I stopped a few other meds-Previcid,Zocor and Celebrex. That makes it easier. I also have difficulty with soda or any carbonated drink. They all taste yucky and taste flat. Some foods feel odd to chew. Has anyone else had gastric problems? Will this pass or should I give it up before I further tear up my stomach? Thanks if you have any tips for me.
I do believe that biological warfare is being used and here in Canada there are many opportunities of malicious actions that can have the oil and gas as targets. Most of the smaller oil and gas plants have no security. However before we start blaming some one else we should have a close look on how we poisen ourselves on a daily basis. Here in this part of Alberta the growing season is to short to grow any produce, but doing so is preferred to purchasing food out of grocery stores.
So I dug up some more info that I wanna share ... in case you are dying of curiousity. Or need more info like I do. ---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- http***mb.rxlist.com/rxboard/ultram.pl?noframes;read=3179 not just for breakfast anymore Posted By: mkny Date: Friday, 21 October 2005, at 3:53 a.m.
I have been taking 40mg Omeprazole for a year now for a stomach ulcer and because I also take celebrex 200mg for osteoarthritis I also have diverticulitis/ diverticulosis and had 30 polyps removed from my colon dec.
I am disabled due to braking my back at 15, many back surgeries & pain. They started me on pain medication when I first broke my back. I was put off and on different pain pills before the year of 2000. And since 2000, I've been put on pain killers, Celebrex, Zanaflex & a few others. I have the worse dry mouth ever! I've had 3 dentist tell me it's the worse they have ever seen. And besides that I have acid reflex which hurts daily no matter what I eat it hurts.
I am just tired of being tired so I better get it looked at again! I was taking my husbands celebrex and it seemed to sometimes work and sometimes not. So at the risk of the side effects, I stopped taking it. After I have the time to go to the chiropractor and/or get and MRI I will share my diagnosis...if I even get one!
I have talked to the neurosurgeon who did the surgery and he shrugged his shoulders and said I have no idea and sent me back to my neurologist. He gave me a series of injections in both shoulders and the pain stopped for a couple days but then came right back. Then we tried massage therapy, it helps but only for a short period. Then I have to go back to the massage therapist again and again, my insurance will not pay for that.
However, there is validity to the premise that pain will actually keep you alive longer, and it's always an ongoing challenge to find the balance of pain and/or anxiety control. Remember, too, that acute co-morbid events, ie: coronary, pulmonary or spontaneous bleeding and clotting can occur at any time and hasten death Additionally, it is not uncommon for liver failure patients to wax and wane in terms of their mentation, confusion and overall state.
I was in a drug stupor, taking almost 30 drugs from this clinic from 2003-2004. Prescribed meds and samples of Vioxx, Mobic, Celebrex and Bextra. I had so many Toradol shots to my spine and hips at this clinic and I thought they had crippled me. This doctor humiliated me. Told me that I was a nut. I now needed long term counseling with all of the body ailments they all told me.
and have gone off antibiotics, neurontin, and celebrex during that time. Have had a negative CT scan and many negative blood tests (including hepatic panel)- except for high glucose - and negative culture for H. pylori. The pain is nearly constant in some part of my mid-abdomen, but is horrendous when it goes to my back, left of spine, above the waist, and lasts for hours - usually starting in afternoon, and worsens with lying down. Can't get in to see the G.I.
Also, much more pronounced pain with presence of gas in my bowel. Use stool softener, celebrex and percocet (3/day) and 1 valium at bedtime. For whatever reason, my body produces an incredible amount of gas...much more in the last year or so without any change in dietary habits. Large farts 3 or 4 times/night. When gas builds up, nuero pain (not gas pain) wakes me up. Any movement in bed wakes me up. Mornings are very hard....
i'm taking/have tried taking ibuprophen, tylenol, celebrex, and lodine for the NSAIDs, and percocet, vicodin and ultram besides -- none of it is working. i'm at the point where i'm just taking something to sleep so i dont have to deal with it until i can see the doc. thanks!
I have a B-12 deficiency and Hashimoto's Thyroiditis (hypothyroid) and am currently taking Celebrex for heel spurs in my feet. I am only 27 and am currently thinking it is a vitamin deficiency as well. My advice would be to take a multi-vitamin, eat a banana and see what happens. Then see your doctor.
r, that was a joke, then to follow-up with a new primary care doc, and was diagnosed with costochondritis. He gave me Celebrex and said it should get better. 2 weeks later, I have no relief, doc says the breathing is anxiety from the pain...well I would buy that, however the breathing issue came first? EKG, Chest x-ray, and 0-2 saturation all normal!!! by the way, I'm 30 yr old female, with reflux and IBS. ...I feel the same way!
a burning sensation, sometimes gnawing pain, sometimes almost a cramping pain, along with gas and belching and sometimes a bloated feeling. I had all these symptoms when I was evaluated by x-ray for obstruction, and no sign of obstruction or ileus was noted at that time.
so she gave me anaprox, (aleve) and told me it would help. it didn't. then i tried celebrex [stupid and expensive] then tylenol 3s.....still wasn't helping. so in June of that year, the pain was too much. i felt like i was going to just pass out from the pain. i went to the ER, it took morphine, vicodin and some dilaudid {i think thats how you spell it} to make the pain subside.
So it will be important for you to get up and about to get that air moving out of you. Buy some Gas-X as it will help in that area as well. Your abdomen will be sore too, so be sure to take meds as directed to stay ahead of the pain.
How can I not baby the leg when it hurts and because I cannot feel the bottom of my foot, I have fallen a number of time - not knowing I was stepping on a stone or an uneven surface. I am on Celebrex and Desyrel at this time and have noticed no difference. Is there ANYTHING that you see that help me with insight into this problem???
I have had dizziness and nausea from this, but am trying to cope. I had stopped the celebrex and methocarbomal for the 2 weeks and regret it immensely. I wanted to see what Prednisone did on it's own, and once I started the Plaquenil, I wanted to see what it did all by itself. MISTAKE!!! At the 2 week and 2 day point, I couldn't move my leg muscles, they had cramped up so tight and hurt so bad. 2 days of celebrex and I'm moving and damned near pain free. Not entirely, but much better.
I'm sure you already know that and probably don't want to hear it, but as you know it is one of the worst things you can do to your body-your heart, your lungs, etc. It is as stupid as standing over a gas pump and inhaling the fumes. And if you are having unexplained/undiagnosed medical problems, you certainly don't want to add to them or copmlicate the picture.
I have tried different beds, etc. I went to PCP and he tried me on omeprazole...and librax. I have had an UGI and the only thing that shows is a minimal sliding hiatal hernia. I also had an ERCP done with an ejection fraction of 34. So far ...no diagnosis for this pain. The Gastologist does not think my pain is from the gallbladder or hernia. Sometimes after eating if I should bend over I get point blank sharp pain just below my left breast with instant palpitations.
While trying to continue to treat her for the residual ear pain a doctor put her on celebrex, and you guessed it reactivated the ulcers. Since that time we have been on a rollercoaster ride of treatment. She had a whole regimen of blood work done. Her WBC always was slightly elevated as was her sedrate. She had elevated ANCA which had everyone thinking auto immune syndrome (she had a severe reaction to sun exposure the summer before).
When you say neutralize gas, do you mean take otc medication such as gas X (simithicone) or something else? In either case, not really. I will look into vagas nerves condition. But can you kindly explain how to go about neutralizing gas? I did while back think its not acid coming out of my mouth but gas. Thank you so much.
