Celebrex and flexeril

Common Questions and Answers about Celebrex and flexeril

celebrex

Hi again has anyone tried Flexeril (muscle relaxant)? Any bad side effects and did it help pain , I have I guess myofascial pain. Any trouble with withdrawal gettnig off of it?
I was told celebrex and flexeril was a no no by my ob and by the pediatrician. I was on it for several years and stopped it when I got pregnant and was told I could not resume taking it until after baby was weaned. Im not sure about the other meds. Sorry I can't be of more help.
I started taking Celebrex two months ago and have gained 18 lbs since. I am wondering if anyone has gained weight on Celebrex? I have a sprained lumbar, lumbago syndrome with back spasms. I can't take narcotic pain meds. Any alternative to Celebrex? Naproxen does nothing for my pain.
I could barley dress myself and hobbled to the bathroom. I dropped the flexeril and took the anti-inflammatory and came out of it. So after TX be prepared for RX drugs to possibly act differently than before. Coincidence?
I am on an NSAID called Limbrel 500 (I can't take Ibupropin or naproxicin due to stomach problems and can't take Celebrex as I get insominia from it), and muscle relaxant Flexeril. I'm going to an integrative pain medicine doctor. I have been to a orthopedic surgeon, neurologist, physiatrist and pain doctor and GP. All said I have myofascial pain syndrome. I am also doing biofeedback and accupuncture.
Three months ago I had a cervical spine fusion, and was taking Ultracet and Flexeril before surgery and now only occasionally need Flexeril. Which of these medicines could contribute to the abnormal LFT? I drink a glass of wine each night, and maybe 3-4 glasses on a weekend night. Could the wine cause the liver abnormalities? My doctor wants me to quit taking the pravachol and retest in two months. Should I be concerned? Should I be panicked?
Yeah My girlfriend had complications after a hernia surgery and she was put on this stuff. She doesn't take or enjoy pills at all and the doctor was very careful with this stuff. She was on for a few weeks and then they slowly tapered her off because as stated above it can cause seizures if you abrubtly stop. it didn't even help her pain either but that is not really relevant. It doesn't seem like much is known about this stuff so i would be careful.
I am afriad to even tell my doctor how this Elavil is making me feel because I had an allergic reaction to Lyric, I could not tolerate the Celebrex, and now it feels there is no possible way I can take this Elavil. I am wondering if I even really have Fibro because if these are approved medications for the condition, I would love to know why they are worsening my condition and giving me these tremendous side effects.
While naproxen and motrin are non-steroidal anti-inflammatories,(NSAIDs), flexeril and somas are muscle relaxants- they are sesigned to do specifically this. Celebrex is an NSAID that is more like Mobic, someone in the forum just got on celebrex not that long ago, I apologize I cannot remember who. You might want to post and ask. Chrosty will be at work all day but usually gets on at night, she just got her rx yesterday xoxo-D.
Oh yeah, no what you mean by that.... I have found a .50mg xanax and 10mg of flexeril, and wearing a Lidoderm patch the same time work wonders for the spasms. I just wish there was a magical vaccination that would take care of MS...
I visited my general doctor for my symptoms and she prescribed a muscle relaxor and celebrex? After some research, I decided to take neither since it appeared that she was simply trying to treat the symptoms and not the cause. I also visted a chiropractor who took x-rays and saw nothing unusual and had little to offer except a lot of babble. I'm scheduled for a full physical including blood work next week.
I have been on Methadone for the past 5 years and also take Lortab for break through pain and also Celebrex and have a TENS unit. I have been to lots of specialist and everyone reccomends different things which Workmans Comp seldom will pay for. Finally After almost 8 years I get to go back to the Neurosurgeon to discuss surgery options on the 20th of April. following is my MRI results condensed. at L3-L4 there is a diffuse posterior disc bulge without evidence of hernation.
I was just diagnosed with an autoammune disease and don't want to take plaquenil just yet. Doctor said to take celebrex and a muscle relaxer. I have been taking 1 mg of xanax for 3 weeks and before that it was about twice a week as needed. I was having such anxiety and sleep issues rhemy said to take it every day. Now 3 weeks later she wants to try the new coctail of celebrex and muscle relaxer.
My workers' compensation doctor told me to stop taking my medication that I have just recently started taking in September or October. I was on Lyrica, Celebrex, and Flexeril. Do you think any of those medications could have influenced my blood pressure or pulse? Well , I stop taking the medications, but my pulse is still running 120 and my blood pressure has went down from 136/98 to 122/84. What do I need to do?
So I dug up some more info that I wanna share ... in case you are dying of curiousity. I'm not a big fan of the Trigeminal Neuralgia, but I went to Target and got my Flexeril and Tegretol refilled for the next month, and I think it was two bucks after insurance. Seeing some of these prices makes me thankful I have pretty good insurance.
Insurance won't let me have Lunesta ( it worked) anymore until I've tried other alternatives. I tried Ambien ( bad side affects) and Flexeril (does't work). Insurance mentioned Sonata but the side affects and patient reviews make it sound just as bad as Ambien. I have severe osteo-arthritis and fibromyalgia. I take vicodin, celebrex and placquinil. I know with the pain med there is a worry of over medication with impaired breathing.
I have chronic headaches, back pain, neck, shoulder and all muscles are very tender and sore for no reason. Only meds Ive been able to try were Tramadol, Fioricet, Celebrex, Bextra, Trazadone, Topamax, Cymbalta, Flexeril, and Ambien for insomnia. None of these really work. So the Dr will say theres nothing more he can do. Ive gone to 10 drs in the last 10 yrs or less. Noone puts all my symptoms together. I have been asked "what med do you want" but Im not going there...
Thanks for the reply. My GP put me on Celebrex and Flexeril and told me to call on Thursday to see if it helped. However, I did make an appointment with the Orthopedic Surgeon for Thursday just to rule out that this problem is not related to my cervical spine.
I have tried celebrex, Lyrica, Cymbalta and Savella and none of these provide me with any relief. The only thing that helps is Oxycontin, but drs. are relunctant to prescribe on an ongoing basis. Any suggestions would be really appreciated.
Celebrex, Neurontin, Baclofen, Skelaxin, Relafen, Flexeril, to mention some. Things thar really work for me are Baclofen and Lidoderm patches, although some days I still have the spasms. A Cervical MRI showed: Straightening is noted suggesting spasm. Correlate clinically.
Turned out that on top of RA and bursitis, I had osteoporosis in them. I got relief from darvocet, flexeril, RA meds and osteoporosis meds. It took time but things got better once I was on the combonation.
What has helped me the most is Celebrex (celecoxib); It is an anti-inflammatory and unlike over the counter ibuprofen it is safer for your stomach. You want to target reducing inflammation, instead of killing the pain (such as with Narcotics). If you simply kill the pain, you will revert to habits like poor seating position or movement patterns that can exacerbate the injury -- deadly cycle. Ice does this, as well.
I have talked to the neurosurgeon who did the surgery and he shrugged his shoulders and said I have no idea and sent me back to my neurologist. He gave me a series of injections in both shoulders and the pain stopped for a couple days but then came right back. Then we tried massage therapy, it helps but only for a short period. Then I have to go back to the massage therapist again and again, my insurance will not pay for that.
I am just tired of being tired so I better get it looked at again! I was taking my husbands celebrex and it seemed to sometimes work and sometimes not. So at the risk of the side effects, I stopped taking it. After I have the time to go to the chiropractor and/or get and MRI I will share my diagnosis...if I even get one!

I had been feeling better but the last 2 days it seems every major joint in my body is hurting so bad. Especially my ankles and wrists. It is like an aching and sharp stabbing pain. Celebrex is not even touching it. So yesterday I didn't take it and instead took my 2 Aleve that I had been taking and it seemed to help a little. I just don't know how long I can go on like this. This morning I really had to force myself to come into work.
when my lower back and right buttock/right leg is in pain and burning bad the burning and pain in my feet and legs get worse and seem to "spread"upwards. The inside of my left leg is discolored a deep red and is hard and completely numb. Sometimes it feels like ice water running down my leg, bee stings, sharp knifelike pains and fasciculations and muscle cramps. Even in the abdominals.
He just wants to take naproxen and flexeril. I know that tomorrow he will probably feel worse and I don't know if I should let him take his dose of Sub or not? Any info would be much appreciated.
