Avatar n tn Hello. My urethra is extrememly swollen and painfull. It is not a UTI, herpes or and STD just had my physical 6 weeks ago. It has been painfull off and on for 6 months. The first Dr. prescribed cefprozil. It didn't do anything. The second Dr. gave me an antifungal with anti-iflammatory cream. It helps slightly but everything is still extremely swollen. I am worried it might be something more serious? I have no discharge.
Avatar n tn My son who just turned 1 years old a few weeks ago has had stye like bumps on his eye lids for almost 5 weeks now. He actually has four, one on each lid and they are pretty close to the lids. I've been using topical eye ointment and warm compress for many weeks now and they sometimes appear to be getting better, then worse again and have not yet gone away. Now his lids are pretty swollen and red and I've started giving him oral anitbiotics (Cefprozil) which are prescribed for 10 days.
Avatar f tn t think it was herpes but I definitely needed antibiotics and prescribed Cefprozil. I asked if I should be taking the Acylovir, and she said no. After a couple of days taking the Cefprozil the burning during urination stopped. That said, my lesions had then changed in appearance. I now had the yellowish fluid filled blisters in a few areas over reddish skin. My lymph nodes in my groin were also tender on one side. The area is sore to touch but not itchy yet.
Avatar f tn I have had a strange pain in my left arm and leg for about a week now. I originally went to the Dr.'s last week due to an ear ache in my left ear. I was given Apo-Cefprozil - two days later my leg felt weird ( by the achilles tendant) -I shrugged this off as I have recently began running a lot. The next day my toes were tingling and the pain was also in my arm ( feels like carpal tunnel). My first thought was that my medication was too strong (500 mg twice a day).
Avatar m tn I appreciate the info but in my case I didn't have the sore throat or other symptoms until 2 days after the encounter, which has me worried
1170641 tn?1263333023 Norfloxacin (they found out the bacteria was resistant to this), Apo-cefprozil, Nitrofurantoin - that was what I had tried for oral antibiotics. The nasty little bacteria that won't die is called klebsiella, they've found it in every single culture they've done of my urine. So they decided it was time for a drastic measure: IV antibiotics. I was on Ertapenem for 7 days intravenously, and that did not work at all.
Avatar n tn I have been prescribed cefprozil and what is around my mouth does sound like it would be impetigo. How would I have developed this? As for the rest of my face, the swelling, rashing, itching, and burning... on eyelids cheeks and chin, would that be an effect of having impetigo as well? thanks for your help!
499626 tn?1216030227 hi my daughter has recently been diagnoised with autistic spectrum disorder which was a shock as they thought she had aspergers does anyone no what the diffrence is as i haven't been given that much information
Avatar m tn I have 11 Cefprozil 500mg and 10 Clindamycin 150mg. Will these antibiotics help me? I've already begun drinking as much water as I can.
Avatar n tn Or you can look at DSM IV 299 for criteria for autistic spectrum disorders. I think it would then be useful for you to go through that with an appropriate professional to identify which parts of that criteria your daughter might fit. Take with you a list of behaviours you have noticed with your daugther that you think are autistic and also list your concerns. It is quite possible to have several autistic traits, but not enough of them in each criteria to reach a diagnosis.
Avatar n tn How do you deal with a disorder that is treated with such skepticism? Is this on the autistic spectrum? Would a spectrum diagnosis help him with the school?
Avatar f tn It is very common for children on the Autism Spectrum to have symptoms of ADD, ADHD, anxiety disorders. Many doctors are hesitant to give a dual diagnosis. Kudos to your Doctor! Has your doctor given you referrals to the nearest Autism Society yet? Do you have any specific questions or just looking for support right now?

Avatar m tn Hi there. SAD lights are full spectrum lights since they emit full spectrum of light waves. These can have benefits in seasonal affective disorder and restore normal sleeping patterns by simulating daytime and nighttime and reduces stress. There are other full spectrum lamps to combat jet lag, etc. usually these are safe, but some side effects are known. These are headaches, insomnia, eye strain. Discuss with your doctor if you are having rise in temperature with its usage.
574118 tn?1305135284 I had to call it this name, as this opinion i read it for the 1st time in a post of moonpanda. She said: >>> the academia see bipolar disorder as being on a spectrum spreading from unipolar depression to classic manic depression, with variants falling everywhere in-between."" now we know that numbers say fall on the so-called real line like there is a definite location for the number 2 and one for 3 , one for 1000 etc...
1255530 tn?1269867619 The following is from a site (you can do your own searches if you would like to look deeper). There is a wealth of material out on the web (autism society in many states also that you can look up in yours for a local chapter/group). ..... Symptoms of Autism Differ from Person to Person There is a saying in the autism field: "if you've met one person with autism, you've met one person with autism.
Avatar m tn Have a look at the DSM IV diagnostic criteria for a diagnosis of autism. Also speak with the Speech Therapist. Make sure she has experience of speech disorders as well as developmental disorder such as Autism. She should be able to tell you if the speech and language difficulties he has are consistant with a diagnosis of being on the autistic spectrum. She is also the professional to assess for social interaction and skills.
Avatar f tn On one end of the spectrum is the cardioinhibitory response, characterized by a drop in heart rate (negative chronotropic effect) and in contractility (negative inotropic effect) leading to a decrease in cardiac output that is significant enough to result in a loss of consciousness or lighheadedness. It is thought that this response results primarily from enhancement in parasympathetic tone.
Avatar m tn How does it happen, I know there are a wide spectrum of hepb infections from some like me but others at the other end of the spectrum, unfortunately.
Avatar m tn Perhaps he has low IQ, perhaps he is somewhere on the spectrum, perhaps he has add (which is harder to spot than adhd), perhaps he has issues going on at home that make it very hard to do what he needs to do at school (abuse and so forth). So, your schools team of psychologists, counselor, principal, occupational therapist, intervention specialists, etc. need to now be involved in order to see how this boy may learn the best. By the way, I'm sure you've gone to his parents.
1255505 tn?1272819115 The current thinking is that bipolar is on a spectrum of affective disorders or even on a spectrum that includes schizo-affective disorder and schizophrenia on it's high end. What consideration have any of you given to bipolar being on a spectrum of affective-epileptic disorders? I've seen others ask this question on the internets.
Avatar f tn Hi evrey one I went to the cicatrices he said my kids may have autism spectrum he told me to make e.e.g for him to be sure if he had an autism spectrum my question is that right can e.e.
Avatar f tn Is there any possible difference - even theoretical - between the two types of lighting in terms of risk to retina (I have atrophic myopic degeneration). Does full spectrum lighting contain more blue light?
Avatar f tn When we had her evaluated they said that there was a chance of her being on the spectrum, but I really dont think she is. Our biggest problem is her speech. She talks, but only when she wants to and when she does its very hard to understand. She will repeat us occasionally, but usually only single words. I think she does this more for confirmation than anything. Her speech seems to spontaneous. If you ask her to say something, she may try, but she has a really hard time getting the word out.
1745492 tn?1320198340 Why do some people on the spectrum have such trouble sleeping? I have Asperger's syndrome and have had trouble with sleep since I was young. My mom says she would have to rock me for hours to get me to sleep. I didn't nap much as a baby. As I got older, my sleep problems got worse. I still experience severe insomnia and problems calming down before bed. Now I'm suspected to have developed narcolepsy. So my sleep problems just continue to get worse.
