I was prescribed amoxicillin and was feeling much better on day 3 until I developed a horrible yeast infection. I was then prescribed the one dose of fluconazole and the yeast infection was cleared. My original symptoms were gone so I didn't bother taking the rest of the antibiotic. (I know, my fault). Now three days I went back to the doctor and explained my symptoms and that I didn't finish the amoxicillin. I was not tested again for strep but was given cefdinir.

Also, about 1 week before the spots appeared, I was taking the antibiotic Cefdinir for a throat infection, which may have actually been mono.

I finally found a doctor who told me it was a yeast infection. Crazy. I was told put the foot powder Desinex on my anus. That helped stop the itching then I was prescribed Nyastin combined with a steroid. I'm cured. To have a little humor I had athletes butt. Last I also noticed that after I was cured if I ate cheese I would itch.

Now have a possible sinus infection and doctor gave me Cefdinir. Two days into the medication, my neuropathy symptoms have increased. The burning, needle like sensations and numbness. I do not want to go through that nightmare again. So I stopped taking the antibiotic and am waiting to hear from my doctor for an alternative drug. Is this considered an allergic reaction or a severe symptom. Anyway to know which antibiotics I can use and not have this reaction.

Endodonist said there was pus -- infection. I have had allergic reaction to Levaquin and AzitheraI and have had side effects diarrhea and lightheaded from Cefdinir and Cephalexin so he prescribed Cipro 500mg. Said he doesn't usually prescribe but given that it have taken Cipro 250mg in the past (or urinary tract infection with no side effects. I'm a female and 5 days after giving oral sex to a male I came down with a sore throat and puss pockets went to dr and was put on z pack. That didn't clear it so I was put on cefdinir pus pockets are gone and my throat is no longer sore, however I have whitish grey flat patches in my throat on both sides just behind my back teeth. 2nd dr I went to tested me and I tested positive for yeast she gave me Nystatin for 10 days and patches are still there.

I took a 10 panel std test prior to the test I was taking Cefdinir although I stopped taking it 5 days before testing would the cefdinir affect the results which were negative.

i took him to the dr tuesday and he had a double ear infrceion. she put him on CEFDINIR and said there was a 5% chance hed have reation and wednesday (after 3 doses) he broke out in an awful rash. just like he did when he was 11 months old from the penicillin,. he is 2 and a half now. s hospital where they treated him for pneumonia for 2 days then sent home to take Cefdinir for 12 days. Once the 12 days were over he once again started with the high fever and his cough never left. His doctor did x-rays once again and put him back on Cefdinir for 10 days. He ended up going back to Children's E.R. where they said he had decreased air movement in his lower left lobe and put him on Amox-Clav ES for 14 days. He is still running fever with a wet cough.

Have you tried an over the counter vaginal yeast treatment? Some yeast are resistant to these as they all have fluconazole in them. The yeast are getting used to the anti-fungals that have azole at the end of their name. But it can also be Bacterial vaginosis (BV). You should get tested to find out if it is a yeast and if it is resistant and also have the laboratory check for bacterial vaginosis. Could you have a STD? If you would need to get tested for those.

See a doctor it could be a STD the symptoms from a yeast infection are the same as some STD I thought.
