Central causes are migraine headaches, meniere’s disease of the inner ear, heat exhaustion, head injury, pituitary adenomas.
Avatar m tn This kinda makes sense to me in that while my parents were great in many ways they were utterly incapable of expressing emotion and were never ones to hug us kids so I grew up in a bit of an emotional vacuum. Naturally my reaction later in life was go seeking really intense people to have way off the deep end relationships with.

Avatar m tn t plain toast or jello. I lost 6lbs out of fear of vomiting. As it turned out, this all ended up being a nasty sinus infection that started spreading and my body wasn't fighting it on it's own. that's when I realized, my Emetophobia has gotten out of control. I can't afford therapy... so I'm wondering if any former Emetophobia suffers with OCD had advice on how to get over my fear of throwing up, and how to make the experiene more tolerable if I do catch a bug.
Avatar m tn Shortly after the incident she began have these random bouts of uncontrollable vomiting, to the point where she'd be vomiting blood. Along with the vomiting she'd suffer from Migraines. After being tested and prescribed everything under the sun she now suffers from a strong opiate addiction. Aside from the addiction, which we are intervening with, does anyone have any idea what this could be? Anyone with a similar story? Any alternative medicines to recommend?
Avatar n tn Also if nothing is found then food challenge test to detect food intolerance should be done. Once all possible causes of vomiting have been ruled out, there is a possibility that this is cyclical vomiting syndrome. This is characterized by bouts of unexplained vomiting that stop as they came (in her case after the hospitalization) with a symptom free period and start again. There is no test to diagnose it yet.
Avatar n tn Feline leukemia causes a great variety of disease, which include: immunosuppression, neoplasia (cancers), anemia, immune-mediated diseases, and gastroenteritis, 1. Immunosuppression: There is an increased susceptibility to bacterial, fungal, protozoal, and other viral infections. 2. Avatar m tn If you plan on travelling to other countries in the near future, have your child get the shot. Other children who aren't immunized who travel to other countries can get the disease and pass it on as well. Otherwise, I personally wouldn't see any risk in waiting for a little while, as long as you intend to have the shot eventually. Your child will need all their immunizations before they start school.
Avatar f tn I am sorry to hear about your daughter. Since all possible causes of vomiting have been ruled out, there is a possibility that this is cyclical vomiting syndrome. This is characterized by bouts of unexplained vomiting that stop as they came (in her case after the hospitalization) with a symptom free period and start again. There is no test to diagnose it yet.
Avatar f tn Hi It could be a case of gastroenteritis (gut infection) which has led to diarrhea and vomiting. The main symptoms of gastroenteritis are diarrhea and vomiting although one or the other symptom may predominate. If the symptoms persist (>1 day), worsen or lead to other complications you should consult your doctor who could order some tests such as stool examination etc. In the meanwhile take rest and drink lots of fluids to avoid dehydration.
Avatar n tn Vomiting, diarrhea, diuretics, and excessive perspiration are all causes of a severe potassium loss. There are others, but these are the main culprits. Just put in "causes of hypokalemia" in your search engine and you will see all the causes. Some medications may cause you to be hypokalemic. Check the sheets that come with your meds to see if any of them cause loss of potassium. Take Care!
Avatar n tn With my last i did not think diarrhea and vomiting with pressure was labor symptom I was waiting for actually contractions to hit and when I they hooked me up to the machine they said my contractions were about 5 min apart and very strong and I was already 5dilated. Avatar f tn I cringe when I ask this as I know you may be angry with me I have 4 kids and may be upset if someone asked me...but loss of weight-tiredness-lack of enthusiasm. Could be a few things including depression which with the age he is could be a possiblilty too. Chemical and hormonal changes are tough. Good luck let me know what happens.
Avatar n tn I do drink MonaVie and I am on Ambertose ( quite a large dose of it) and I am never sick, even when the kids are sick I don't get it. The last time I even had a cold was 5 years ago and the last time I was sick was due to food poisoning at a football game 4 years ago. My IMMUNE system is NOT lowered with having the autoimmune issues, which a lot of articles reference..they say your immune system is lowered and you get sick a lot..not in my case anyway.
Avatar f tn On Monday afternoon he had sudden onset of nausea and vomiting. It continues this Tuesday morning. He is alert and feisty, but still has a headache and feels "out of it." He refuses to see the doctor and feels that his vomiting is "food poisoning" and is unrelated to his fall. I am very worried about it, but it will be a huge battle to get him to the doctor. Can you give any opinion on how hard I need to fight him to be seen by the doctor?
10218090 tn?1408580560 Parents and Cookie went home for lunch. Cookie did not eat anything after the vomiting. Parents did not suspect anything. Cookie did not complain at all.
